Look it up yourself. I'm tired of having to educate liberals just so you can ignore it again.
I have an idea, Carol.

Why don't you look it up.

You will find that any baby born alive was already protected under IL law.

You will find out that the bill to which you are referring, was put up by the rabid right in an attempt to get certain verbiage in the law so as to weaken the legal abortion laws in the books & make it easier to legislate against abortion in the future.

You need to educate liberals? You? Coffee spurted out my nose when I read that one.

Obama, Senate floor, 2002:[A]dding a – an additional doctor who then has to be called in an emergency situation to come in and make these assessments is really designed simply to burden the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion.… I think it’s important to understand that this issue ultimately is about abortion and not live births.

Obama, Senate floor, 2001: Number one, whenever we define a previable fetus as a person that is protected by the equal protection clause or the other elements in the Constitution, what we’re really saying is, in fact, that they are persons that are entitled to the kinds of protections that would be provided to a – a child, a nine-month-old – child that was delivered to term. That determination then, essentially, if it was accepted by a court, would forbid abortions to take place. I mean, it – it would essentially bar abortions, because the equal protection clause does not allow somebody to kill a child, and if this is a child, then this would be an antiabortion statute.

...you've been duped, Homer, sorry to say.

This is actually intriguing!

Are you all planning on living completely off the grid?

What happens if family members don't want to go with you? Or is this a "No Hillbilly Left Behind" kind of deal?

What if you get an infestation of Mexicans into your new country?

Since you're a doctor, are you going to provide healthcare? How will you be paid? Confederate dollars, or chickens and goats?

You saved me the time of trying to explain those same facts to clueless carol...who has actually succeeded in becoming a total wast of time. Remember when Hannity had that supposed Chicago nurse with her story of the "live abortions"? I still think it was Jeff Gannon in drag. I think almost all could agree on banning late term abortions (unless the life of the mother were at stake), if we could trust the reichies not to try to use it as a trick to overturn Roe v Wade.

SOME OF HIS ADHERENTS HAD TAKEN TO CALLING HIM "JESUS CHRIST," OR, "THE MESSIAH," HERE LATELY, BUT JESUS JUST THOUGHT OF HIMSELF AS ANOTHER WORKING STIFF WHO'D MANAGED TO OUTWIT THE RABBIS AND VOLUNTEER HIS COUSIN, EDGAR, FOR THE CIRCUMCISION THAT WAS TO HAVE BEEN HIS.

AS A RESULT HE WAS THE MOST POPULAR GUY IN TOWN BUT HE SHIED AWAY FROM WRESTLING AND OTHER EVENTS THAT WOULD HAVE REVEALED THE SOURCE OF HIS POPULARITY AMONG THE TOWN'S FEMALES, HIS "GOD-HEAD" IF YOU WILL.

BETHSHEBA WAS DYING TO TELL SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, ABOUT THE WRINKLY, PURPLE SOURCE OF HER OWN MAGICAL RECOVERY BUT SHE KNEW IF SHE DID, THAT'D BE THE END OF IT, SO SHE SAT ON HER PRIDE, SO TO SPEAK, AND LIKE THE OTHER GIRLS, SAID NOTHING.

JESUS STAGGERED UP THE COBBLED STREET TOWARDS MORTECAI'S TO GET A FLASK OF HAIR OF THE DOG BUT ANGIE, MORTECAI'S WIFE SAID HE'D GONE TO THE TEMPLE TO SELL HIS WARES. SHE ALSO SAID THAT JESUS WAS WELCOME TO WAIT WITH HER IN THE COOL UPSTAIRS ROOM SHE RESERVED FOR HER, UM, GUESTS, BUT JESUS NEEDED A DRINK NOT A WOMAN RIGHT NOW SO HE DECLINED, LEAVING THE POOR WOMAN TO FEND FOR HERSELF AS USUAL.

No Regrets for Man With Romney Tattoo on His Face

“Obama supporters have come up to me since the election and said,’Told you so’ or ‘You look like an idiot,’ but if you take Romney’s losing out of the equation and someone with a face tattoo out of the equation and actually have a conversation with me, you might realize that it’s not just about what is on the surface.”

First, to preface what a "present" vote means:

Because it takes affirmative votes to pass legislation in the Illinois Senate, a "present" vote is tantamount to a "no" vote. A "present" vote is generally used to provide political cover for legislators who don't want to be on the record against a bill that they oppose. Of course, Obama isn't the first or only Illinois state senator to vote "present," but he is the only one running for President of the United States.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/200...

Now, here is a full list of Obama's seven 'present' votes on issues related to abortion:

1997 Votes

SB 230 Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act. Senate approved bill 44-7, with five senators voting present, including Obama.

HB 382 Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act. House version, passed Illinois State Senate, adopted as law. Under the bill, doctors who perform partial-birth abortions could be sent to prison for one to three years. The woman would not be held liable.

2001 Votes

HB 1900 Parental Notice of Abortion Act. Bill passed 38-10, with nine present votes, including Obama.

SB 562 Parental Notice of Abortion Act. Bill passed Senate 39-7, with 11 present votes, including Obama.

SB 1093 Law to protect Liveborn children. Bill passed 34-6, with 12 present, including Obama.

SB 1094 Bill to protect children born as result of induced labor abortion. Bill passed 33-6, with 13 present, including Obama.

SB 1095 Bill defining "born alive" defines "born-alive infant" to include infant "born alive at any stage of development." Bill passed 34-5, with nine present, including Obama.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker...

Because he did not vote to ban partial birth abortions or did not vote to support the born alive act, he voted no.

You can't vote present on such important issues if you want them to be passed.
