Research by leading social psychologist Roy Baumeister has found that the act of choosing depletes our brain’s ability to exercise self-control. We become less discerning and less disciplined when our brains are tired from having to make a large number of choices. This implies that when we embed ourselves within a context of binding commitments — that is to say, commitments we don’t have to think about honoring — that may free our minds to focus on other things. When we experience everything, or nearly everything, as contingent on choice, it exhausts us mentally, and makes us more undisciplined — and, in turn, makes our lives more chaotic. Chaos, in this sense, breeds chaos.

Perhaps you can explain why the wealthy were doing just fine during the Clinton era and before, when taxes were higher.
Bush cut taxes and crashed the economy, without producing 1/10th of th ejobs created by Clinton and higher taxes.
If the tax cuts were so good for the economy, why did we have the biggest financial crash since the Great Depression??
You're a poor racist cracka who is lied to and led by the likes of O'Reilly.
So if the MSM is so wrong, why did they call the election correctly??
If FAUX is so right, why did they get it completely wrong??
The evidence is there, for those who look at it without their right wingnut glasses on.
You're just a sore loser.
Obama won. Get over it!!
You've got ODD.
(Obama Derangement Disorder)
It's quite common among Rmoney supporters. The cure is a self-inflicted gunshot.
Take some deep breaths and block out everything in your mind.

Well, actually, you've already done the latter.

Keep going pal, you're getting dumber by the post. The company was going down either way, they could no longer compete in/for the large grocery accounts and were selling their below par products to convenience stores and at their own retail/thrift stores. The thrift stores will be missed as they tended to be located in low income areas.

The actual union members (bakery workers) will be OK as the bakeries will reopen to produce regional and grocery brands. The non union store employees and delivery/sales personnel are fkd however.

Also, could you tell flack that it's "toeing" the line, not "towing." As he seems incapable of remembering the distinction, I wouldn't call him for help if I were broken down even at Wal-Mart.

Read the labels on other baked goods like Little Debby and store made brands. All are made with hydrogenated oils and chemicals I can't even pronounce, not to mention the high salt content...yuk. If only people would care enough to demand better quality or just stop buying that crap. Time to go back and make our own.

It was probably due to the super low prices they were forced to sell their product at Walmart. But that's just speculation on my part.

The only worthwhile Hostess assets are the brand names.
The biggest Hostess liabilities are the employee contracts and pension plans.

The company got so big that it couldn't get small again. Iirc, over time four companies combined to make Hostess Brands. There are buyers lining up for most of the bakeries.

Regional and grocery brands have changed that industry much for the better__our local Hostess div, Merita closes tonight at midnight, the bakery workers aren't crying__they knew it was coming one way or the other.

Let's explore history a little bit more.

Stalin preached the crisis of capitalism would raise the consciousness of the working class to revolt.

Hitler's message to the worker was,“above all, the trade unions are necessary as foundation stones of the future economic parliament or chambers of estates”(Mein Kampf). He was so totally aligned with labor that he used terms like,“social justice” and “national community” to confirm their importance.

In Mein Kampf, Hitler goes into great detail about how National Socialism must realign all aspects of society to the goals of trade unions to create an equality of outcome. And if those aspects of society are not willing, they will be taken over (co-opted).

Along with universal healthcare, expanded animal welfare laws, support of healthy, organic foods and vegetarianism, a minimum wage, progressive taxation, and tight gun control — policies all shared by progressives from Roosevelt to Clinton to Obama, it is impossible for the left to separate themselves from Hitler. So they try a little “I’m rubber you’re glue” on the right. But it just doesn’t stick when you take a closer look.

Those who don't play the game aren't allowed to criticize those who do. It's a rule...somewhere.
The country voted against the GOP because for several reasons. We didn't have the right messenger who played it safe instead of painting a clear and dangerous picture of another four years, who passed up a golden opportunity in the last debate to ask the president point black about what he knew about Benghazi, and the media perpetrated the invisible war on women digging up two obscure republicans who put their foot in their mouths.
However if the election had been held right before Hurricane Sandy, the outcome might have been very different.
Obama makes a mistake if he thinks he won because of his policies. He won because Romney dropped the ball, because Romney is a Mormon and because his smear campaign worked. He also won because of a well-organized and methodical plan to get his base to the voting booths.
The country is still very much divided...more so now...and Obama will wish he hadn't won a second term if he succeeds in implementing his policies and continue to ignore and dismiss half of the country again another four years.
Ya'll do nothing but make excuses. Yes every reason you named was part of the reason romney lost, but the main reason was & is romney wasn't presidential material. Obama campaigned to america. Romney campaigned to 53% & you say this country is divided. Imagine if romney made it in office! Those that are divided now was against Obama the 1st time he ran, not even giving him a chance. They call him the food stamp president. Not thinking that the country was in a recession, close to a depression & had he not extended food stamps, unemployment benefits ect...this country would've been the 3rd world country ya'll fear mongers live in fear of. City by city eating in chow lines & soup kitchens. Thats fine by ya'll that probably well off enough to avoid the misery, but you people dont understand the butterfly effect. When or if the ghetto gets that low to the point the hood can't feed the hood, guess who will come a knocking at your front doors in the day & breaking in your backdoor by night. Obama's moves are very thoughtful & calculated. Another reason ya'll loss the election was you simply underestimated the change in the demographics of some of americas major cities & states, big time! I told ogee people on here, no poll can tell you who will likely vote & vice versa. 2008 we voted for change & we got it. 2012 was proof that it wasn't a fluke. My best advise is do what the winners would've done if we loss, don't obstruct the progress. Ride with it. You don't have to like it, but this is a democracy & the majority have spoken. Don't be sore losers. True harder next time!
