The USPS was on track to make a small profit in 2006 which turns out to have been a banner year for most industries__but sht happens eh? Snail mail displaced by e-mail and more importantly junque mail going online too__Chico's catalogs for instance and many others which were huge USPS customers and just disappeared after learning that print was no longer the best way to reach select customers.<quoted text>

Was the USPS supposed to show profits or satisfy stockholders?
It surely contributed to the US leading the world in matters of trust and commerce__didn't it???
