First of all Ma'am, thanks for your service to your country. I was myself a ranger in another country before moving to America and am in strong awe and admiration of our US servicemen.Obamacare
"So, let me get this straight (this is a long sentence), weíre going to be gifted with a healthcare plan we are forced to purchase, and fined if we donít, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesnít understand it, passed by a congress that didnít read it, but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didnít pay his taxes, for which we will be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country thatís broke. So what the blank could possibly go wrong?Ē
Former nun, Army major, lawyer, college professor and now Dr, Barbara Bellar.
Anyways, I spent some time reading the ENTIRE bill from page to page, including amendments. Not that reading so many pages is a big deal for me. I probably read/check out at least one thousands of pages a day at work alone and missing paragraph may have me dragged into court.
Why do I not like Obamacare??
*Besides that it will make most people in healthcare take a significant pay cut over time (unfunded mandate that steals from medicare to pay for Obamacare) as medicare reimbursements tank, regulations so complex that not even a super-multi-tasking ER doc can decipher them all and the incredible lack of respect for people's free choices, Obamacare is fine. Also, I will still have a job if I want to. It is the nurses, techs, LPN's and MA's in the urgent care that will be laid of. Example: Urgent cares are likely to be merged with ER's at larger centra and peripheral back up is in jeopardy. I am not going to be back-up over phone for all kinds of centers if that is assumed to be a part of my job with no compensation and all the responsibility. My wife's sister is an attorney (health care law actually) and SHE is not sure about the meaning of several basic provisions and especially how the states will respond to them.
The problem is that most people either do not want to understand these concerns, do not want to listen to people in the field (think we are all "rich" SOBS and so, I get it every hour every day) and definitely do not think we deserve a penny of our labor besides basics. The same people are also the ones to suffer the most. When a diabetic with chest pain, COPD, previous CAPG, ACDF and lipids into the roof comes to me, what could have been dealt with in 20 minutes at a clinic. I have no idea what they have done for work, but still I am supposed to fix it all and diagnose them. No way!!! Easier and quicker to page the hospitalist (another doctor they have never seen before), have him/her admit patient and then consult cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonary maybe if the BNP is negative and he has problems breathing well.
NOW: All the above paragraph has to be dealt with ASAP. If it is a heart attack he needs a cath, if it is pancreatitis because of drinking time is running. Of course, I have to find out from a person I have never met before if he is drinking or have had drinking problems. Or, if I am insane, I could just go an EKG, some cardiac enzymes, Lipase and CXR and send him home to follow-up with his primary in the morning (which he will never do, but at least I am off the hook).
And then people like Obama and you lberals have the gall to say I would rip a child's tonsils out in order to make more money!!!!
So keep trying to trash me and make fun. I will not go anywhere. But I WILL gradually stop working for the government!
