Barack Obama, our next President

"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep," Obama cautioned. Young and charismatic but with little experience on the national level, Obama smashed through racial barriers and easily defeated ... Full Story

"From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs" pretty much sums it up.

There's talk that Patraeus and Hillary will be subpoenaed if they elude the Benghazi congressional investigation beginning this week.

It should strike everyone as very odd that the two most important people in unravelling the many still unanswered questions and controversial coverup have declined to show up.

Besides, PDupont, the Supreme Court ruled that Obamacare is just another tax.

Romneycare didn't raise taxes in Massachusetts because the federal government picked up half the cost, thanks to Ted Kennedy.

You remember Ted Kennedy? The former Governor of Massachusetts? The socialist democrat who preceded Barack Obama?

Where is the federal government going to get those same funds?

Did I hear you say "from the taxpayers"? Because that's exactly right.

He wasn't the "perfect" candidate, but that candidate doesn't exist. In a few more years, I can pretty much guarantee you'll be dreaming of a Romney presidency that never was.

The death toll keeps rising. A 77-year-old retired custodian has succumbed to the effects of exposure after being found in the doorway of his N.Y. apartment. Over 120,000 remain without power with no end in sight. The electrical worker's unions are still dragging their heels. WHERE THE HELL IS OBAMA?!?! Oh yeah, he's scheduled to play golf today, incompetent, arrogant, contemptuous prick!

"Where is the line between a polarized America that is productive and one that is destructive?

"Among the many lines dividing us, where and when do we draw this one in the sand?

"'Democracy is not about achieving agreement. It's about figuring out how to live together when we don't agree,' said social psychologist Jonathan Haidt, who wrote a pre-election column in The New York Times dishearteningly titled:'Look How Far We've Come Apart.' The competition between ideas can be healthy or it can turn toxic.'

"Unfortunately, all signs before this election were pointing toward toxic. He cited a few studies, including research showing that Congress is more ideologically polarized than at any time since the end of the Civil War, a downward spiral that began with the cultural wars of the 1960s and '70s.

Perhaps it's time for lorac to resurface again. Could we, in fact, be reaping what we've sown and everything I wanted to believe about the people in this country is backwards? Like my name?

I remember Ted Kennedy. He's the the politician that killed a woman and then, with the help of the adoring press, covered it up and lied about it to protect his political aspirations and continued to get re-elected to office. That's exactly what Obama did after Benghazi fiasco. Obama obviously learned a lot from Ted Kennedy.

I hope those who voted for big government are sitting up and taking notice. This is what we can expect from here on out.

I encourage everyone to donate at least $10, the minimum donation, online to the Red Cross.

These people have each other to depend on and various charities, but the Red Cross needs as much help from donations as possible.

So much for voter suppression. So much for the enthusiasm gap. So much for the idea that smug, self-appointed arbiters of what is genuinely “American” were going to “take back” the country, as if it had somehow been stolen.

On Tuesday, millions of voters sent a resounding message to the take-it-back crowd: You won’t. You can’t. It’s our country, too.[...]

On Tuesday, the America of today asserted itself. Four years ago, the presidential election was about Barack Obama and history. This time, it was about us—who we are as a nation—and a multihued, multicultural future.

Wielding wedge issues

What the GOP once used to divide now unites Democrats.

Moderates are already arguing that the GOP should simply downplay social issues. "We have to get out of people's lives, get out of people's bedrooms … or else we're going to lose," Rep. Steven C. LaTourette (R-Ohio) said on CNN last week, calling the "tea party's" proposed solutions "crap."

Why do ya'll keep bringing up benghazi? Why didnt idol push for impeachment of the entire bush administration for the blatant cover up of the friendly fire murder of Pat Tillman? Why ya'll dont mention the fact that 7 embassies were attacked under the bush administration? Ya'll catch amnesia when it comes to republicans f-ck up. Like I've always said, tell the real reason ya'll nit picking with everything that goes in with Obama. Dont keep beating around the bush (no puns intended). Ya'll can't stand to see a blackman in office. Not only that ya'll can't stand to see that america has moved on pass the policies of the past. This isa not the 50s-60s. If you took anything from the election you should've took away the vision of our children & generations beon them. There were kids of all races, backgrounds, & heritages all voting for Obama with 1 vision, UNITY! The middle class needs the rich like the rich needs the middle class. 1 hands washes threw other. This is why you see holdouts in all sports. You can't be making record profits & still trying to penny pinch the under class. That ain't nothing but greed.

In not too many years, Texas could switch from being all Republican to all Democrat,” he said.“If that happens, no Republican will ever again win the White House. New York and California are for the foreseeable future unalterably Democrat. If Texas turns bright blue, the Electoral College math is simple. We won’t be talking about Ohio, we won’t be talking about Florida or Virginia, because it won’t matter. If Texas is bright blue, you can’t get to two-seventy electoral votes. The Republican Party would cease to exist. We would become like the Whig Party. Our kids and grandkids would study how this used to be a national political party.‘They had Conventions, they nominated Presidential candidates. They don’t exist anymore.’”

The Democrat governor in Connecticut demonized the power companies last year to take the heat off of government. Since then, the weasel has done nothing. One would think a good government would work with the private sector. One good thing that could happen is for government to provide incentives for gas stations to have "generators" so they can pump during a power outage - gee what a novel idea.
Another would be to think big and long term - run power lines underground.
The Democrats only have one solution to every problem. Blame others.
In my area, almost all the gas stations have backup generators. There's probably some stupid law up there prohibiting them.

Our Human Resources Manager said we will not see changes to our health insurance plan (which is great) in 2013, because it is already set. 2014 will begin the massive changes--none good by the way--with significantly higher premiums because of ObamaCare. And, by November 2013 when they send enrollment forms and information to the staff for the 2014 selections and there is collective shock, I'll get to ask "So who did you vote for in 2012?"
