Barack Obama, our next President

Does anyone think Obama’s going to change course? America’s is at a tipping point one being self-reliance, accountable/Responsible or Government!! This election reflects that it’s tilting toward Government so why would Obama make any attempt to change its direction because Government equals Democrats!! Liberal compassion is defined as how much FREE STUFF can we give you for your Vote!!

The civil rights movement, once a controversial left-wing fringe, has grown deeply embedded into the fabric of our national story. This is a salutary development, but a problematic one for conservatives, who are the direct political descendants of (and, in the case of some of the older members of the movement, the exact same people as) the strident opponents of the civil rights movement. It has thus become necessary for conservatives to craft an alternative story, one that absolves their own ideology of any guilt. The right has dutifully set itself to its task, circulating its convoluted version of history, honing it to the point where it can be repeated by any defensive College Republican in his dorm room. Kevin Williamson’s cover story in National Review is the latest version of what is rapidly congealing into conservatism’s revisionist dogma.
The mainstream, and correct, history of the politics of civil rights is as follows. Southern white supremacy operated out of the Democratic Party beginning in the nineteenth century, but the party began attracting northern liberals, including African-Americans, into an ideologically cumbersome coalition. Over time the liberals prevailed, forcing the Democratic Party to support civil rights, and driving conservative (and especially southern) whites out, where they realigned with the Republican Party." Blow it out you're tired, lyin' ass as long as you choose, but I ain't buyin'.

By the time Al Franken was sworn in on July 7, 2009, Ted Kennedy had not cast a Senate vote for about four months because he was terminally ill with brain cancer.(He died on August 25, 2009.) Robert Byrd was also hospitalized from May 18 through June 30, 2009 and may not have been well enough to attend Congress and vote for some time afterward. Thus the Democrats did not really have the 60 votes needed to break a filibuster until Kirk took office. Byrd (who died in June 2010) was also periodically too ill to attend and vote during the September 2009-February 2010 period, though I have not been able to confirm this with a quick Google.
And everyone thought fat Kennedy got away with murder--in the end it will bite you in the butt just like the swimmer.

But really, when someone like you brags, it requires a footnote.
A little history lesson.
If you were a male between 18 & 26 in the 60's & early 70's, you were subject to the draft, unless you had a deferment such as a college deferment.
Those without a deferment were in the "pool" & local draft boards selected draftees (until the lottery changed it).
The National Guard became the first choice of those who thought they would drafted & did not want to win that trip to Vietnam. The Guard quickly filled up & to get in the Guard took money & political influence ( Ref GW Bush).
The options became:
1) Try to get a medical deferment - like get a big boil on your ass (the Limbaughian).
2) Go to college & not flunk out & hope its over after 4 years.
3) Join the Navy because unless you volunteer & get selected for river boat duty, you will likely never step foot in Vietnam.
4) Run in hide in another country - flee to Canada or hide out in England (Clinton) or France (Romney).
Now you had no influence to get in the Guard. So when you thought you might get drafted, you ran out & joined the Navy.
I rate that above those that fled to other countries but really, if there was no draft,. we all know you would not have enlisted. If you were truly interested to fighting in Vietnam, you would have enlisted in the Army or Marines.
When the lottery was done, I had a high school buddy whose birthday was number 1 - he dropped out of college & joined the Navy. Lots of kids did this. But in reality, they did it to avoid the draft.
He, like you, hid out in the Navy.

Do you know how many republican men there are?

Romney made it quite clear rape was an exception. Women should have been listening to him.

Obama started the war against women and made it the fiasco it became.

That's what they do...start fiascos right before elections.

We still can't afford Planned Parenthood and those adamently against abortion are still forced to pay for it.

Between the horrible murders and now abuductions and rapes of little girls, not to mention the fraud of a President you subjected the country to, the whole damn city is a fucking zoo with predatory animals as inhabitants.
Have you purchased your home protection yet? Enroll in self-defense classes? Enroll your daughters while you're at it. Think about arming them too.

If you don't trust the government to protect you, you should be protecting yourself.

How many people have perished due to the disasters in the northeast on Obama's watch? And the death toll still climbs. Four new bodies have been located. Three of them died from exposure, i.e. they froze to death. When will Obama finally address the nation about his failure during this most recent "bump in the road"? When will he explain his lack of action at Benghazi? When will he explain his lack of action when the Iranian fighters fired on our military drone over international waters? As Dezi used to say, he has "lots of splainin' to do".

Interesting.

Looks like Romney's mistake was to approach this whole thing with a pure business approach. You don't do that in politics like you wouldnt approach a business issue with a pure political approach. He needed to strike a balance.
And this Paul Ryan character is too young for the mess of this magnitude. I googled him.

Rice would most probably have advised on how NOT to send mixed messages on critical issues which are suppose to take a back seat in this time of great economic crisis, but they didnt.
RealDave wrote:

What is he doing to fix it?

Obama was elected and is getting paid to do a job and he is not doing it, period.

He was elected to fix the mess which he failing to do.

He knew what he was inheriting and getting himself into. Obama is not up to the challenge. Its of no use re-electing him and hope for the best. His administration is very weak.
