Why Mitt will win: Bam has no plan

As a Democrat and an Hispanic, a few weeks ago I wouldn’t have made this prediction, but with only days to go before the election, I’m confident Mitt Romney will be the next president of the United States.

Barack Obama promised Hope and Change in 2008. Now he wants us to look Forward in 2012, which is just another way of saying ‘don’t look back on what I’ve accomplished — or failed to — in my 1st term.’

The 2 big accomplishments the president can point to over the last four years are a wholesale revision of the US health system & the killing of Osama bin Laden. The 1st is highly unpopular with Americans, for good reason. It will degrade the overall quality of healthcare and make it more expensive for those who currently have coverage.

And his attempts to take credit for the 2nd accomplishment have been more than a bit unseemly. From his 1st announcement of bin Laden’s killing to his use of the issue on the campaign trail, he’s always given himself the lion’s share of the credit instead of the brave Navy Seals who risked their lives on the ground.

He mentioned himself and his direct involvement 5 times in 11 lines of his address announcing the killing before he got to a single mention of the Seals’ action. And it’s been more of the same self-serving rhetoric on campaign stops.

But it’s what Obama hasn’t accomplished in the last 4 years that will make the difference Nov. 6. Despite nearly a trillion dollar federal stimulus package, he’s done nothing to bring back jobs to the US economy.

With at least 1 in 12 workers unemployed — more, if you count those who’ve had to accept part-time jobs at much lower pay — virtually every voter is either personally affected or knows someone who is. They’ve given this president almost 4 years to fix it, and he hasn’t.

It’s true the president doesn’t control the US economy. But any administration and Congress can play a significant role in either depressing economic growth or encouraging it. And the president has done the 1st, not the latter.

He’s made businesses wary of hiring new workers by imposing a costly new health-care program on employers. He’s increased red tape and threatened to raise taxes on small businesses that several analysts say will result in a loss of about 700,000 jobs.

And he’s denigrated the role of individuals in building their own businesses and promised to punish the most successful among them.
Most importantly, the president has run a campaign devoid of ideas except clever ways to attack his opponent. His operatives — official and otherwise —have consistently demonized Mitt Romney as heartless, greedy, and mean. It’s wrong when fringe conservatives continue to raise questions about President Obama’s birthplace — but it’s even worse when Democratic lawmakers and pro-Obama ads accuse Gov. Romney of causing a woman’ death and cheating on his taxes.

As someone who lives in one battleground state and spends significant time in another, I’ve watched the campaign ad blitz for months. And while both campaigns have spent most of their time and money on negative ads, there’s a marked difference in the substance: The Romney ads have attacked the president’s record; the Obama ads have attacked the governor’s character — even his basic humanity.

But once most voters got their first real look at Romney, the Obama message simply didn’t jibe with what they saw and heard, which is why the polls started trending toward Romney. The president’s record, however, remains as abysmal today as it has over his entire term.

It may have taken voters awhile to figure this out — they like the president personally and wanted to give him a chance to prove he deserved re-election. But he hasn’t given a single, convincing reason why he should be, which is why I believe Americans will vote for genuine change Nov. 6.

If Romney loses, it will be the third national election that the GOP has lost in the last four cycles. Losing in 2012 should alert Republicans to the limits of relying so heavily on anti-Obama sentiment and it should make them understand the diminishing returns of running against a fantasy record, especially on foreign policy. A Romney loss would be the second consecutive time that a candidate espousing an aggressive and confrontational foreign policy was rejected by the public. That should be taken as a signal that the GOP will not recover its reputation on foreign policy until it faces up to its failures in the Bush years and tries to learn from them. Considering how the party responded to the even more obvious repudiations of Bush-era foreign policy failures in 2006 and 2008, it seems unlikely that this is how most Republicans will interpret defeat, so it is something that will have to be repeated as often as possible in the near future.

If it happens, as seems likely, a 2012 Republican loss shouldn’t be at all surprising. The Bush administration truly was one of the three or four worst presidential administrations of the last sixty years, and Bush’s party still hasn’t come to grips with what that means for how the rest of the country sees them. In the wake of such a huge failure, it would be almost inexplicable that the public could entrust the Presidency to that same party after just four years. Assuming that Romney loses next week, the puzzle won’t be why he lost, but why he was ever within striking distance in the first place.

Hate to the billionaires on Wall St. that bought those bad loans and sold them to the world. Knowing all the time they would go bad and cause the worst economic melt down since 1929. One more hate for the billionaires that sit on Exxon's board. The ones that know America is hurting but yet this year have made more profit than any company EVER in world history. And NOW this same board, having broken America, is exporting more US oil than anytime since 1949. Plus they are building a NEW plant in the gulf to ship America's new found LPG to China.

The Complete List of Barack Obama’s Scandals, Misdeeds, Crimes and Blunders

•$6 trillion in new national debt under Obama…after he promised to decrease the deficit.

• Obamacare — A massive and incredibly convoluted bill which exponentially increases the federal government’s control over our personal lives…which neither Obama nor a single Democrat even read before passing, and which will likely bankrupt the nation.

• In both the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, the Obama campaign purposely disabled the credit card verification system for its Web site donations, allowing anyone from any foreign country to donate with no limit and no proof of identity; in both elections it was demonstrated that people overseas and people with obviously false identities were able to donate to Obama campaign, in direct violation of several laws. To this day it is not known what percentage of Obama’s campaign funds are illegally obtained, since there is no documentation.

• Billions of taxpayer dollars gambled on “green” companies like Solyndra, NextEra, Ener1, Solar Trust and many others — all of which went bankrupt.

• An intentional refusal to enforce federal immigration laws.

• Unemployment at or above 8% for almost his entire term in office (which was actually closer to 15% actual unemployment).

• Operation Fast & Furious — a government-sponsored illegal gun-running scheme designed to purposely go awry so as to induce public outcry for gun control.

• Spent 20 years listening to a racist anti-American pastor (Rev. Jeremiah Wright), whom Obama desribed as a mentor. On March 18, 2008, Obama gave a speech in which he said “I could no more disown Jeremiah Wright than I could disown my own grandmother” and “[Wright's church, Trinity United] embodies the black community in its entirety.” Now Obama tries to pretend that Jeremiah Wright doesn’t exist, and that his extremist anti-white philosophy didn’t influence Obama’s worldview.

• Increased the percentage of Americans dependent on food stamps to unprecedented levels (now over 15% of the nation’s population).

• Before he entered politics, Obama worked as a lawyer suing banks in landmark cases, forcing them to give home loans to unqualified minority borrowers — a practice now understood as one of the primary initial causes of the eventual housing bubble and market collapse.

• Handed out over 1,200 waivers to politically connected donors exempting them from the onerous requirements of Obamacare.

• Greatly expanding the number of unaccountable “czars,” which essentially amounts to unilaterally adding new federal departments with no congressional oversight — leading to a true “bureaucracy” in the original sense (rule by unelected bureaucrats).

• Using taxpayer dollars to bail out the private pension funds of autoworkers’ unions at GM & Chrysler.

• Illegally ending the welfare-to-work requirements passed by Congress.

• Doling out $800 billion in stimulus cash for “shovel-ready” jobs that didn’t exist — the money just evaporated with no measurable economic benefit.

• Alienating and isolating Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East.

• Apologizing to Islamists and terrorists for offending them.

• Under Obama’s watch, for the first time in history America’s credit rating was downgraded, due to his poor economic policies.

• Stopped American oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, allowing other nations with worse environmental records to drill instead — thereby managing to both weaken our economy and damage the environment simultaneously.

• Proposed in 2008 to intentionally bankrupt the coal industry — and now lies to voters and workers in coal-producing regions about his true intent.

• Pretends to be concerned about skyrocketing energy prices, when in fact he vowed to increase them on purpose (so as to make alternative energy schemes more competitive.)
