It's looking like payback time for Democrats. Obama will win Electoral Votes while Romney could possibly win popular vote. Election favors President Obama.

Would you be talking about the recession caused by the Democrats' ludicrous Marxist subprime housing mortgage underwriting program that collapsed our economy after 2 years of oversight by the Democrats?
Advocating home ownership is hardly novel; Bill Clinton's administration did it, too. For Bush, it was part of his vision of an "ownership society," in which Americans would rely less on the government for health care, retirement and shelter. It was also good politics, a way to court black and Hispanic voters.

But for much of Bush's tenure, government statistics show, incomes for most families remained relatively stagnant while housing prices skyrocketed. That put home ownership increasingly out of reach for first-time buyers like West.

So Bush had to, in his words, "use the mighty muscle of the federal government" to meet his goal. He proposed affordable housing tax incentives. He insisted that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac meet ambitious new goals for low-income lending.

Concerned that down payments were a barrier, Bush persuaded Congress to spend as much as $200 million a year to help first-time buyers with down payments and closing costs.

And he pushed to allow first-time buyers to qualify for government insured mortgages with no money down. Republican congressional leaders and some housing advocates balked, arguing that homeowners with no stake in their investments would be more prone to walk away, as West did. Many economic experts, including some in the White House, now share that view.

The president also leaned on mortgage brokers and lenders to devise their own innovations. "Corporate America," he said, "has a responsibility to work to make America a compassionate place."

And corporate America, eyeing a lucrative market, delivered in ways Bush might not have expected, with a proliferation of too-good-to-be-true teaser rates and interest-only loans that were sold to investors in a loosely regulated environment. But Bush populated the financial system's alphabet soup of oversight agencies with people who, like him, wanted fewer rules, not more.

Woods said Biden came over to his family and asked in a “loud and boisterous” voice,“Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?”

Joe "Giggles" Biden, one heartbeat away from the presidency ... America MUST do better or it deserves to fail.

Clint Eastwood was right. When Barack Obama's leadership has been needed, he has been absent.
~While at the University of Chicago, according to Senior Lecturer Richard Epstein, "Obama did the minimal amount of work to get through. No one remembers him. He was not a participant in luncheons or workshops. He was here and gone."
~As a U.S. senator for less than one term, according to Gov Track.us, "From Jan 2005 to Oct 2008, Obama missed 314 of 1300 recorded or roll call votes, which is 24.0%. This is worse than the median of 2.4%."
~As President, the Government Accountability Institute points out that from January 23, 2009 until May 31, 2012, President Obama was in office for 1,225 days and only attended 536 presidential daily briefs, an anemic 43.8% attendance record.
(The Obama administration contends that holding such meetings is not important, that the president simply reads his PDB when there is no meeting.)
~According to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, President Obama has held 208 fundraisers since filing papers for re-election including 141 so far in 2012.
(For comparison's sake, President George W. Bush, who was facing a tough re-election campaign attended a total of 97 fundraisers.)

When was the last time President Obama met with Congress members?
President Obama, where art thou?
I like Clint Eastwood and I am not going to disparage an old man. He is clearly wrong in this instance. Republicans refuse to compromise with the president so what would be the point in meeting with them.

May as well wait until he is re-elected, I feel the Republicans will be more open the compromise, I cannot image them being stubborn jackasses for another 4 years, if not another 4 years of the do nothing Congress.

You just can't let go of a good lie can you DB? No government program was responsible for the collapse of the housing market, it was unregulated mortgage brokers like Countrywide and Indy Mac who purposely made these sketchy loans with the intention of selling them off before they went bad. These mortgage originators weren't even subject to CRA rules which were in fact fairly stringent.

You're an idiot DB.
Let's get this fact straight for the last time. It was the run on the money markets that caused Lehman Bros to collapse and start the dominoes falling! Now who is known to do such things? Who benefited the most having it happen 6 weeks before the election?

Real time?
Two and a half hours after the attack began, an unarmed predator drone was diverted from a surveillance mission over another part of Libya to the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.
That, plus a second unarmed drone dispatched four hours and 15 minutes later, were the only U.S. military forces sent to the scene of the attack. Commandos were dispatched from Europe to an air field in Sigonella, Sicily, but by the time they got there the attack in Benghazi was over.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Thursday defended the U.S. military response, saying the situation on the ground was too confusing.
"You don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's on, without having some real time information about what's taking place," Panetta said.
He said senior officers, including Gen. Carter Ham, the U.S. commander for Africa, and General Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, all opposed military intervention.
"General Ham, General Dempsey and I felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation," Panetta said.
When asked whether they had forces on any heightened alert in that area because of the approaching 9/11 anniversary, Panetta said they did.
Gen. Dempsey added: "And let me point out, it was 9/11 everywhere in the world."
Defense officials say a general alert had been issued to U.S. forces worldwide, but no special alert had been ordered for Libya because there was no intelligence predicting an attack.

The attack lasted 6 hours.
How about the real-time communication with the actual team fighting? Did Obama's empty chair think they didn't know what they were talking about?
Do you think after Stevens filled Obama's empty chair's mailbox with statements like "an Al Qaeda attack is inevitable" someone would send one of the carriers to be on station in the Gulf of Sidra?
Perhaps, just like Obama's empty chair didn't think the people fighting the terrorists knew what they were talking about, he also thought Stevens didn't know what he was talking about, either, when Stevens is telling Obama's empty chair multiple times far in advance of the attempt to kidnap Stevens that an Al Qaeda attack is inevitable.

Seems like we don't have enough ships in our Navy, doesn't it?

List??

Where is that list?

You know, the one you keep running from?

Show me the list of legislation the Democrats passed & Bush signed in the first 9 months of 2007 that created this recession.

Come on. Do it. Don't keep running from this - it makes you look uninformed & foolish.

Wait a minute....
It is impossible to compromise when they're not even being allowed to participate in the discussion.
And, it seems that there were Democrats that were reluctant to compromise, too, i.e. the "Louisiana Purchase" and the "Cornhusker Kickback".

The Democrats pretended that there was no other faction in the nation.
I do believe that fact of history of the United States is irrefutable.
