Where Barack Obama Won The Debate

Libya.

Barack Obama turned his administration's worst foreign policy disaster into a dramatic victory in Tuesday's debate when Mitt Romney sought to stretch the criticism of the Obama Administration's handling of the incident.

Romney's criticism of Obama's handling of the crisis met a stern lecture from Obama about politicizing the tragedy; and when Obama said he'd called the incident an act of terror from the start, Romney thought he saw an opening.

The Republican attacked Obama for, he said, calling the attack on Benghazi a terrorist attack until two weeks later, only to be interrupted — and corrected — brusquely moderator Candy Crowley, who noted that Obama had used the phrase "acts of terror" in the Rose Garden immediately after the attack.(Republicans later argued that he hadn't specifically applied the phrase to Libya; he was, however, in the Rose Garden to speak about Libya.)

The blunder — the one moment Tuesday when a candidate seemed genuinely rattled — may have been the product of, if anything, overpreparation.

For weeks, Romney aides have been talking about Libya as a growing issue that would undermine Obama’s lead with voters on foreign policy.

“I’m telling you,” a top Romney aide told BuzzFeed last week,“Obama can’t defend the cover-up.”

But it was Romney who couldn’t defend a patently false attack, and couldn’t navigate to safe ground.

Democrats were so confident in the performance that even before the debate was over they marched in their surrogates in dramatic fashion, answering questions while Romney and Obama answered their final questions.

"We saw a rattled mitt Romney tonight," gloated Obama press secretary Jen Psaki, who called his performance on Libya an "unmitigated disaster. "He doesn't have a bit of credibility on foreign policy issues."

Unmitigated disaster

The entire Romney campaign.
China doesn't steal or technology, we give it to them.
If you sell your product into China, you basically give them your designs.
Want to build a factory, you basically have to partner with a Chinese company.
Jobs are shipped to China because, unlike Americans, the Chinese have a far better work ethic. American workers are basically lazy, inefficient and overpaid. Have you seen a State Highway Department crew recently? That's why so many Americans are unemployed. Businesses these days are tired of paying exorbitant wages to deadwood.

What about the knockout punch from Obama over the Libyan Embassy attack. He saved that one, where he is actually on the record 24hrs later saying it WAS a Terrorist attack. Poor ole Mitt getting his facts from Fox news didn't know what to do, he thought his fox facts said Obama didn't admit to it. Well he was proved wrong again and just about everything else he said where he changed his mind 180deg depending on who gave him support. Like the NRA for example, another slam dunk for Obama. The China sydrome, another slam dunk for Obama, etc etc

Where? Full transcript.
I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. Right now, the American people have the families of those we lost in our thoughts and prayers. They exemplified America's commitment to freedom, justice, and partnership with nations and people around the globe, and stand in stark contrast to those who callously took their lives.

I have directed my Administration to provide all necessary resources to support the security of our personnel in Libya, and to increase security at our diplomatic posts around the globe. While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.

On a personal note, Chris was a courageous and exemplary representative of the United States. Throughout the Libyan revolution, he selflessly served our country and the Libyan people at our mission in Benghazi. As Ambassador in Tripoli, he has supported Libya's transition to democracy. His legacy will endure wherever human beings reach for liberty and justice. I am profoundly grateful for his service to my Administration, and deeply saddened by this loss.

The brave Americans we lost represent the extraordinary service and sacrifices that our civilians make every day around the globe. As we stand united with their families, let us now redouble our own efforts to carry their work forward.

He talked about the deaths being due to a video for majority of the speech and then in a throw away sentence at the end stated terrorism will not be tolerated but didn't relate it to Libya. Then he spent the next 8 days talking about a video.
