You forgot to answer the post. Here it is again:
"He wanted a unified, independent Vietnam."
... and that's why he asked the Soviet Union to petition the UN to separate Vietnam into two separate countries. Haw haw haw.
The French would not endorse him as the supreme leader of Vietnam. Thus, he started a war with the French after he went to Paris and asked them to return to Vietnam, and asked the Soveit Union to help. The Soviet Union saw an opportunity to expand their influence during the Cold War. When Ho Chi Minh asked the Soviet Union to help him in the war he started against the French after he asked the French to come back to Vietnam, he condemned Vietnam to being a candidate location for the proxy wars that became the favorite Soviet Union strategy during the Cold War. Vietnam was just one of several proxy wars during the Cold War the Soveit Union started.
Had the French endorsed Ho Chi Minh as supreme leader of Vietnam, he would have loved the French. However, it was the French that started the elections in Vietnam. There hasn't been an election in Vietnam since Ho Chi Minh took control. There has never been an election for any office in Vietnam in any territory controlled by Ho Chi Minh.... ever.
How could the United States have avoided involvement in Vietnam?
If the strategy of the United States would have been to run away from anywhere the communists appeared, then we could have avoided being involved in Vietnam. Our strategy during the Cold War was not to run away.
"When the US declared him an enemy, he went to the only other source for help, the Communists."
You really are ignorant here.
Ho Chi Minh didn't become significant to the United States until he invited the Soviet Union to join him and help conquer Vietnam. As the Soviet Union's involvement increased, so did our involvement.
By the way, the communists used Soviet weapons at the battle of Dien Bien Phu, idiot. And that was before the Soviet Union petitioned the UN to divide Vietnam into a communist North and a democratic South. The US involvement wasn't significant until after North and South Vietnam were created, and the Soviet Union was massively supporting communist invasions of South Vietnam.
So, now, we have the parallel to the previous proxy war the Soviet Union started: Korea. The Korean War began exactly in the same way as Vietnam. The Soviet Union petitioned the UN to divide the country, the UN accepted the proposal, and the communists immediately invaded the other country.
You've been indoctrinated with the lies the Democrats invented about Vietnam to cover up the fact that they joined the enemy during the Cold War and sabotaged the United States.
Yup. We still call that treason.
1)You said Ho Chi Mihn spend WWII in France. That was an obvious lie & indicator that you really don't know sh*t about it.

2) Second, you claim we had no idea who he was until he brought the Soviets in? We knew whop he was rm his work in Vietnam fighting the Japanese. And Soviets? Really?

Ending the data then means it is possible to show a slight warming trend since 1997, but 2011 and the first eight months of 2012 were much cooler, and thus this trend is erased."

Ok, dufus, let's put this in the real world.
It's after 9/11. You're the president.
What do you do?
Do you do the Clinton response to Al Qaeda bombing us and lob a few cruise missiles in their general direction?
Or, do you surrender to the Islamist jihad?
Or, do you go after them and make them fight you in their own back yard?

If you go fight them in their own back yard, where do you fight them?
Do you do the exact same thing in the exact same place against the exact same enemy as the Soviet Union?... and leave Saddam Hussein with a rebuilt war machine in your rear?
If you do, why in the hell would you expect any different result than when the Soviets did the exact same thing in the exact same place against the exact same enemy?
And what do you do about Saddam when you move everything there keeping him under control to Afghanistan, and he hasn't changed his ambition from when he tried to take control of all the oil fields on the Arabian Peninsula?
Now, you're land-locked in Afghanistan and Saddam controls the entire Middle East.

You, and Obama, are ignorant fools.

The Obama Breaking Point
October 14, 2012 - 10:34 pm - by Victor Davis Hanson

Calling Dr. Freud

I think a growing number of Americans slowly grasped that with Obama, the best guide to his character is what is sometimes known as psychological projection — or the syndrome in which those unsure of themselves seek to massage their own natural but bothersome impulses by ascribing them to others, almost always in a negative context. The vicarious president who gave us “get in their faces,”“bring a gun to a knife fight,” and “punish our enemies”; ridiculed the Special Olympics; slurred millions of doctors with accusations that they like to amputate for profit; and smeared, as fat cats, the one-percent, corporate jet owners, and Vegas jet-setters (his own generous Wall Street donors) of course also preached about the need for a new bipartisanship and civility. Like a moth to a light bulb, Obama was drawn to swanky golf resorts, Vegas, and vacations on Martha’s Vineyard of the sort he dismissed as the haunts of the one percent. When the president struggles to repress yet another appetite, we can be assured that he will attribute such a character flaw to others.

The Presidents running for re-election, run on their records. Not President Obama . Why not? Instead, team Obama has mounted a relentlessly negative campaign. Forget “Hope and Change.” This time around it’s “Fear and Smear.”

U.S. has a +$16.2 trillion deficit and Obama has about a $6 trillion deficit and increasing an average of $3.85 billion debt per day. President Obama promise to cut annual federal budget deficits in half by the end of his term. The unemployment is above 8 % for 44 months, despite the nearly $6 trillion dollar in new Obama's debt.

U.S. has record high foreclosures, record high loss of median family income and twenty three million Americans are not able to find jobs or are underemployed. A record 5.4 million workers and their dependents that have signed up to collect federal disability since President Obama took office.
President Obama supports the institutional redistribution of wealth in the USA. President Obama's taxing of the rich plan won't solve the deficit. President Obama could confiscate the entire wealth of America's top 400 wealthiest people ($1.7 trillion dollars) and it wouldn't put much of a dent in our +$16.2 trillion deficit.

President Obama's proposed solution to reducing the deficit, "tax the rich" plan will only fund the government for about 8 days.
U.S. lost its perfect AAA credit rating and the U.S slips to number 7 in global competitiveness for business environment under Obama. The U.S Nation's National Security facing traumatic repercussions from Obama's policies. The U.S Southern border is a sieve, open as a gateway to the most violent criminals.

During his first two years President Obama had a Democratic-controlled House and Senate to pass any plan or idea to help the economy. Instead, he made his overriding priority not job creation but the radical transformation of this country’s health care system.

The government takeover of health care, if left in place, will deprive millions of Americans of their present health insurance and degrade the quality of care provided for all of us. President Obama's preferred model is socialized medicine is along the lines of socialist countries.

President Obama seems fundamentally out of touch with most mainstream Americans and sees main street America as something to be scolded. President Obama routinely villanizes the private sector and pushes policies that punish hard working Americans. As he chided successful Americans this summer,“You didn’t build that!”.

President Obama's administration's ludicrous assertion that an obscure YouTube video in California sparked anti-American riots across the Middle East on Sept. 11 has now been proven a deliberate falsehood. And when a U.S. ambassador was murdered in the line of duty for the first time in 33 years, President Obama’s response was to jet to Las Vegas to party at a fat-cat fundraiser. The cruel murders of the ambassador and three other Americans that day? Just a couple of “bumps in the road,” Obama said.

President Barack Obama promised to "unify a divided nation", has never happened. Obama has been nothing like the healer-in-chief he promised to be in 2008 election. Early on he took the low road, inflaming resentments, demonizing his critics, and, yes, pitting red Americans against blue Americans. President Obama's defenders argue that he had no choice, going negative was his only option.

President Obama was going to unite the country, but all he has done is divide and pit one group against another. He pits the rich against the poor, blacks against whites, old against young, workers against management, unions against companies, and home owners against bank.

Mitt Romney’s plan for a stronger Middle Class is a five-part proposal for turning around the economy, delivering more jobs, and more take-home pay for American families.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan vision represents concepts of liberty, freedom, self-reliance, and responsibility. Clear choice for Americans in 2012 election: Liberty vs dependence, opportunity vs entitlement. Mitt Romney's strength derives from his solid experience in understanding economy, free enterprise and having the vision to help businesses succeed and create jobs.

Mitt Romney will rebuild the foundations of the American economy on the principles of free enterprise, hard work, and innovation.
Mitt Romney's plan:
1. Energy independence
2. Improve education/School choice
3. Make trade work for America
4. Cut the deficit / Balance the budget
5. Champion small businesses and reduce regulations

By most measures, Obama has failed the American people. It's time for real leadership and change in the White House.
