"Beginning March 1, Elgin officials also will question inmates charged with felonies involving gang offenses, drugs, sex crimes and domestic abuse about their legal status, officials said." So now Elgin is a semi-sanctuary city. We need America's Toughest Law man to lead the way. Check out the Sheriff of Maricopa County Arizona at:

Elgin isn't exactly hunting the illegal aliens residing within its borders. According to the article all their doing is making sure that they (i.e., the city) and their contractors aren't themselves hiring illegal aliens.

Geesh, that's so basic that I can't believe they weren't always doing that!

The Illinois Coalition for ILLEGAL Immigrant and Refugee Rights disputes the validity of E-Verify yet ignores the fact that the " immigrants" are in this country ILLEGALLY!! Seems that they want to make sure that its legal to break the law. Boggles the mind, doesn't it ?

Sure does...these groups steam-roll over Americans' rights at every turn they take, and their status needs to be checked into...ship the rabble rousers out. There is no no way to justify the illegal presense of any entity in this country.

Elgin, I'm all in favor of any attempt you make to free your area of the illegal aliens. However, I would even be more in favor of a State immigration law to protect the state taxpayers. How about Oklahoma's Law? How about Arizona's Law? Many states are going to be passing laws to end this illegal immigration because our Federal Government has turned a blind eye to this invasion. The cost to the taxpayers for this "cheap labor", has been nothing but overwhelming. What do you think it cost the taxpayers just for the 3.6 million anchors that were dropped here in the U.S. The taxpayers paid for most, if not all the anchors. Now they are overcrowding our schools and holding back the American children. How about the medical costs the taxpayers paid for these illegals.
Then you have deporting costs, legal expenses because of law suits by the pro-amnesty groups. This illegal immigration has got to STOP! We must get all these illegal aliens back to their own country, so we can have our country back. I can't wait for Delaware to wake up and pass a law.
GO ELGIN! WAKE UP ILLINOIS!

I would like to know what rights illegal immigrants have. I wish someome would take a look at what illegal immigrants cost us as tax-payers and maybe they would have a better understanding of why we feel the way we do. We simply cant afford them.
Also if 20 million plus americans arrived in Mexico how would they be greeted?
You could also advise lareza (?) that we tax-paying citizens have to show 3 pieces of identification when we enter an emergency room
for emergency treatment. Also if we don't have insurance we have to come up with a percentage of the cost of our treatment before we are treated, too bad illegals dont have to do the same. And you think you have it bad here in this country?
I could list so much more. however this is a start.
It is tiresome each day to read about some illegal thinking they have been treated badly.
Remember if a man sneaks into your home he is a burgler not an undocumented tenant you must provide for.

That is great.. I worked for an employer who had 6 illegal immigrants working within her building. Never knew who to report them to.
