Maybe if more law-abiding citizens were armed and started taking out the bad element and took back their streets and communities things might start to get back to a normal state.

When alot of people own guns, and there arte a lot of burglaries, that ony means that there are more illegal guns that end up on the streets. I say we cage all the thugs and let them kill each other. This would lower takes because less money would go to their welfare checks and hospitaity when they are in jail. Please don't classify me as "You People". I live in Chicago and don't vote for the very purpose of not supporting a corrupt individual. I believe they are all corrupt as well. Cheers.

The data revealed in this article reveals that the UK is the most violent country in Europe and has more violent crime per capita than the U.S.A.
Disarming law abiding citizens is increasing violent crimes, by making them more like to be victims of predators.

Chicago needs some more laws. Are bullets banned? Need to ban those too. That will fix it I'm sure. More laws, thats the answer.

You wouldn't ever want to consider issues like kids growing up without two parents in the home, or parents making their kids do their homework and take responsibility, or neighbors stepping up and taking a hand in seeing that their neighborhood is safe and clean. Much better to look to the government to clean everything up. That avoids all that unpleasant responsibility.

You can have long rifles and shotguns in Chicago. If you want to have a handgun in Chicago, you need to be in a gang.
Wow thanks, but how can your mentioned guns compete with an 18 shot 9MM? I would have to have 5 shotguns to defend myself in your scenario. I want handguns to defend my family, not gangbang on the streets....

Take a look at Austraila and how various gun restrictions served its citizens. Learn from it.
Gun restrictions DO NOT WORK...PERIOD. To think otherwise is narrow-minded, un-eductated stupidity.
Chicago...bah...Keep your head in the sand if you must. Just dont start bitching when your ridiculous laws dont pan out.

Those gun ban laws certainly do work, Hu?
When will they realize criminals don't obey the law?
Gun ban laws only disarm law abiding citizens. If I were a criminal I would be all for strick gun ban laws.
Think about it!!

Thank You Chicago's ridiculous gun control laws.....Australians lost their "2nd Ammendment" and armed robbery has gone up 44% in the first year....Guns don't kill, nutjob people kill.

Chicago, you have tried gun control and it has failed you. It is time to take a new approach here Chicago. The stricter laws you enact, the more crime you see. Pay attention, lives are at stake. Allow your people to exercise their right to self-defense.

It's a good thing Chicago is "gun free". In most states, the victims can sometimes shoot back, so the crime doesn't happen as often. Go to a gun show and observe how polite everybody is. A law abiding gun owner is a beautiful thing.

How in the world did all these shootings happen with a complete ban on such evil weapons in the city? You mean to tell me that these rotten, low-down, filthy, criminal scum are blatantly IGNORING the law and having guns anyway!!?? Oh My God! The Horror! I could have sworn that all these criminals were LAW ABIDING!!?!?

When are you ignorant liberals going to get it through your heads that the only people that follow and respect GUN LAWS are LAW ABIDING CITIZENS! The gun laws do NOTHING to stop criminals, who by their very definition DO NOT OBEY THE LAW. You simply make it easier for these murderous scum to kill defenseless people. The city and state government should be held criminally and civilly liable in each of these deaths, since they mandated that they had no option to protect their lives. You people are worse than the criminals. You enable them.

WOW!! I bet Mayor Daley is really upset with this article because everybody KNOWS that guns are illegal in Chicago. All this article did was point out that anti-gun laws are stupid and do NOT WORK. Historically and statistically anti-gun laws have proven to only INCREASE gun crimes. I guess we would all be safer to live ONLY in places where guns were required.
