Prayers going out to the family and friends of Brashai, I can't even imagine what they are going through. I do know this has hit close to home for me as I live very near that path and my kids have walked that path many times. This is so sad. :-(

Too many parents are burying their children. It's suppose to be the other way around. God bless the family of little Brashai.

I'm so sad and depressed
Is all I want to do is rest
I go to sleep at night
But my dreams I just can't fight

I think of you lying in that bed
And wonder if there is anything I could have said
I wish you were still here
But I know that you are still near

I love you more than you know
I just wish you didn't have to go
I just want one more day with you
And I know thats what you would have wanted too

I miss you more and more each day
There is so much more we had to say
I know I will see you again
But my life is just started to begin.

I live in a North suburb and I also am a news Junkie. I have to say I'm pretty upset that I heard nothing about this girl missing until they found a body. A 15 year old goes missing after walking through the woods last tuesday to me seems exceptionally important. I'm so sorry for the family and the Media coverage this DID NOT get.

Holly Dolly, I live near you as well, and it is sad to say that you are absolutely correct. If this had been one of the kids from our area, it would have been all over the news. It is sad that some of these inner city children are disregarded or forgotten.

I am not going to bring the race card into it... because it isn't about race, its about affluence - and the 'squeaky' wheel getting the most oil. But I can guarantee you, that if one of the children from our local school went missing, it would be all over the news immediately. Why wasn't this girl treated the same way?

Perhaps if the news media HAD stepped in and made big deal about a young girl missing, someone would have seen something and been able to stop it!?

Instead of wasting space and pages reporting about what Drew Peterson is up to this week (or any other number of stupid stories that the public is sick of reading about), some public awareness of important issues would be beneficial.

I can't imagine the agony her mother and family is feeling right now and I wish them peace. Their baby girl is in a safe place now, and they will see her again when the time is right...but that doesn't make the pain they feel now any easier.

This is very heart wrenching to me. I pray that God will expose the devil(s) who are responsible for this. May God Bless and Keep this family.

Who's to say she wasn't walking home from church or a school event with her friend. It's not her parents not being parents, it's sick people preying on parents children.

im a resident here in sauk village, its said to here the tragedy of this intelligent young girl and i send my respect to Brashai and family. the crime rate is high in sauk village and people dont even know it because police want everything quite. my house was broken in and the police told me that they have had over 40 break ins in the last few months. also a 10 year old body was found april-3-08 and 2 girls raped last month. guess whos in the dark the residents of sauk village. some one put a letter in every body mail box on my street saying a rapist had did his time and now out and guess what he lives across the damn street from me and i have a daughter thats 12.

Oh my goodness I heard nothing of a 10 yo girls body being found? Why was their nothing in the news about this? I also have a sex offender that lives across the street from me. I have a daughter who is 9 and she will not be leaving my sight no matter how much she wants to go out and play, if I am not able to go out with her she WILL NOT go out. This is such a tradjedy and my heart goes out to Brashai Griffins family, I have no idea what they are going through but I know it has to be the worst thing to have to bury your child and for such a senseless death. I hope they catch the SOB that did this and he pays dearly.:-(
