Senate panel authorizes use of force in Syria

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee votes 10-7 in favor of US strike
President Obamaís efforts to conduct a limited military strike against Syria cleared a major hurdle Wednesday when the Senate Foreign Relations Committee passed a resolution authorizing the use of military force.
The divided body voted 10 to 7 to okay the use of force, which now clears the way for a final vote in the full Senate next week on whether to authorize the administrationís plan for a series of missile attacks. The vote include Democrats and Republican votes on both sides of the issue.
