MORON.
But you think that SLIGHTLY less sea ice means we are still in Global Warming. You do know that Solar Cycle #24 has peaked and it will be cooling even more in the next eight or so years. It is already the coldest solar cycle in about a hundred years and NASA-MSFC things the next few cycles will be as cold as they were during the Little Ice Age.
Again, Mother Nature, The Sun, trumps man-made carbon dioxide.

Well then, we should disarm all police officers? Some times you need to kill someone to save a life. It has been this way since beyond recorded time.

An El Niño Coming in 2014?
By: Michael Ventrice , February 21, 2014

Today's guest blog post is by Dr. Michael Ventrice, an operational scientist for the Energy team at Weather Services International (WSI)- Jeff Masters

We are seeing increasing evidence of an upcoming change in the Pacific Ocean base state that favors the development of a moderate-to-strong El Niño event this Spring/Summer. To begin, here is a snap shot of global sea-surface temperature (SST) anomalies (the departure of temperature from average) 30 days ago:

Note the relatively weak look to the SST anomaly pattern in the equatorial Pacific, with warm anomalies in the western half of the basin and mixed warm and cold anomalies in the eastern half of the basin. The mixed warm/cold signals in the equatorial eastern Pacific are the result of instability “easterly” waves in the ocean, which are associated with short distances between “warm” and “cold” phases. Now let’s compare to what the SST anomaly map looks this week:
Now, fast forward to JUNE and now they are sating, "well, we are probably not write"!
Odds Against Formation of a 'Super El Nino,' Experts Say
By Miguel Llanos (posted on NBC News)

El Nino will likely return this summer after a five-year absence, but experts are not yet sure how strong an effect the cyclical warming of Pacific Ocean waters will have on global weather patterns.

“We slightly favor a moderate strength event, although all possible solutions, from a strong event, to this not even developing, are still on the table,” said Mike Halpert, acting director of the U.S. Climate Prediction Center.

The center -- which is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration -- and its partner at Columbia University are the chief data keepers for all things El Nino and La Nina.

In March, the partners issued an “El Nino watch” and set the chances of it developing this summer at 50 percent. On June 5, when the latest forecast was issued, the chances went up to 70 percent.

The partners base their forecast on computer models that factor in Pacific Ocean temperatures and other variables, but so far those models aren’t in agreement when it comes to severity.

“I'm hoping that the model runs we see in early July will begin to converge,” Halpert said.

It appears less likely than it did a few months ago that a “super El Nino” will develop.

March!
Is A Super El Niño Coming That Will Shatter Extreme Weather And Global Temperature Records?
By Joe Romm on March 26, 2014

Signs are increasingly pointing to the formation of an El Niño in the next few months, possibly a very strong one. When combined with the long-term global warming trend, a strong El Niño would mean 2015 is very likely to become the hottest year on record by far.

JUNE!!!
El Niño 2014: Early strength fades
By Steve Davidson, Communities Digital News

AUSTIN, June 12, 2014 — NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center released its monthly El Niño report for May on June 5. The consensus probability that there will be El Niño conditions for the Northern Hemisphere summer jumped to 70 percent, getting as high as 80 percent by late fall and winter.

Last March saw the highest subsurface ocean temperatures ever measured so early in an El Niño event. Speculation suggested this year’s event might be a repeat of the super El Niño of 1997-98. That one was the exclamation point at the end of the last massive global warming cycle that stopped 15 years ago.

And AGAIN, the U.N. has a progressive agenda which is anti-American and they themselves have ZERO ability to observe the weather/climate but rely on their PEER GROUPS which are nothing more than a bunch of bobble-head dolls.
The UN back climate change. That makes it Anti-American? Are you mad? Please move the UN HQ to Canada forthwith, we sure could use the billions this anti-American organization spends in NY.

Yes buttttt the most recent years, since 2007, we have gained Arctic Sea Ice. And what is silly is you think man-made carbon dioxide is more powerful than our Sun!!! I learned a long time ago that Mother Nature trumps all.
What're you talking about? Man has altered climate, or at the very least, hastened its alteration,.Man has polluted the environment to the point where nature, in many places on the globe, has given up. Man has killed or made extinct thousands of animal species. Man has turned forests into parking loads and oceans into cesspools. Please think twice about saying that "Mother Nature trumps all".

Northwest Passage
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Before the Little Ice Age, Norwegian Vikings sailed as far north and west as Ellesmere Island, Skraeling Island and Ruin Island for hunting expeditions and trading with the Inuit groups who already inhabited the region

There has been speculation that with the advent of climate change the passage may become clear enough of ice to again permit safe commercial shipping for at least part of the year. On August 21, 2007, the Northwest Passage became open to ships without the need of an icebreaker. According to Nalan Koc of the Norwegian Polar Institute this is the first time it has been clear since they began keeping records in 1972.[6][18] The Northwest Passage opened again on August 25, 2008.
You wrote : "Before the Little Ice Age, Norwegian Vikings sailed as far north and west as Ellesmere Island, " Been doing that for a long time. What's the big deal? But, to sail through the Northwest Passage and count on doing it regularly in less than 30 years? Better re-see your Viking tales.

Hummm, another mass shooting in Liberty City which, BTW, is the Dark Side of Miami. Has anyone ever figure out why black people, who make up only 13% of our population, account for about a half or all MURDERS!

Miami police: Up to 10 people shot, 2 dead in Liberty City shooting

And here in Jacksonville, two women shot early this morning in the Dark Side of town. Yep, Jacksonville is the Murder Capitol of Florida and most murders are in the Dark Side of town.
Don't blame it on us White Conservatives either as these areas are overwhelmingly DEMOCRAT areas.

BS and you know it. Connecting the dots of Urban Heat Islands does not mean the Earth was hot, it just means a bunch of city-dwelling Democrats were hot!!!
Oh, where do they measure the temperature here in Jacksonville? The NOAA weather forecasters are located the the JAX AIRPORT but they use the downtown temp as the official reporting temp.
Prior to 2007 Dr. James Hansen, NASA-GISS, used 200 reporting points here in the U.S. but after 2007 he had reduced them to just 60. WHY? Because he only wanted BIG URBAN HEAT ISLAND CITIES in his data!!!!

Another NASA-GISS graph. Now look at the 1930s. What happened between then about 1990? Wasn't the CO2 level going UP?
Now, look at 1997 and 2007 and then it drops off. WHY? is the CO2 level dropping off ...... or has the Sun been cooling?
