Eric Cantor Loses to a Conservative Who Rips Crony Capitalism
http://tinyurl.com/k2hszp4 / June 11, 2014
The DC-insider storyline about this being a great year for the Republican establishment might need to be rewritten. And the rewrite might even require pundits, Republican chieftains and Democrats who are trying to figure out the politics of 2014 to consider complexities they had not previously entertained.
House majority leader Eric Cantor, the face of the GOP establishment and one of its most prodigious fundraisers, lost his Virginia Republican primary Tuesday to a challenger who promised,“I will fight to end crony capitalist programs that benefit the rich and powerful.”
Dave Brat, who defeated the number-two Republican in the House by a 56-44 margin, ripped big business almost as frequently as he did the incumbent.“I am running against Cantor because he does not represent the citizens of the 7th District, but rather large corporations seeking insider deals, crony bailouts and a constant supply of low-wage workers,” declared the challenger.
Cantor dismissed Brat as a “liberal college professor.”
That was false—at least the liberal part.

Please refer to that martial walk by a "victorious" and beaming GWB on the deck of the carrier Abraham Lincoln with the huge banner beaming "Mission Accomplished".

Sigh, since then, even Saddam is looking better and better. He was able to keep Al Qaeda, Taliban and Iranians out. Now those three are all over the place and running things. Bravo, GWB and Grove-Cheney puppet masters. Well done.

Not at all.I always said Saddam was a vile corrupt S.O.B. You don't read too well, do you? On the other hand , and compared to the situation today, he is looking better and better, or if you like , less less and less bad. Was 4,600 dead G.I.s worth this, 32,000 maimed, 150,000 Iraqis killed, 1 million wounded, infrastructure destroyed and huge $2 billion cost plunging the US and the world in a frantic recession? You don't understand too well do you, the difference between worse and bad? And if Saddam was so bad, why did the U"S. not take out Saudia Arabia, the Emirates, known financial backers of Al Qaeda and the Taliban, North Korea, Zimbabwe, China, Russia etc?,

Is Iraq better off today? Truthful answer please. You may want to ask the Catholic communities, in the hundreds of thousands, who have fled post-Saddam because of persecution? You may ask the populations under bombings and attacks by previously-absent Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Hillary may have said that, why not, she said the 18 9-// terrorists came from Canada...(never seen that statement, but will believe you as you are certainly not lying or making it up, I'm sure). compared to what we see happening in Iraq today.

Hillary's statement seems like small potatoes compared to Rumsfeld embracing Saddam Hussein. I can supply proof it you like. Want me to?

You have no idea what the world would look like with a Sodumb in power. After 911 no one was taking any chances with WMD's. Especially with a maniac like Sodumb who refused to allow inspections. Had he allowed inspections there never would have been a second conflict. Sodumb should have been taken out back in 91 prior to a strengthened al qaeda that caused havoc without retribution by Clinton.

The other countries were not under any UN sanctions and were allies save NK who claimed to have stopped producing WMD's. How much good did it to to allow NK to develop WMD's?

Iraq, Libya and Syria are a mess due directly to Obama's incompetence. If you or Obama think that withdrawal of American power and influence will solve the world's problems just look at what happened when that same mindset was instituted in the 1930's.

Hillary is simply out of her league whether it is domestic or foreign policy. She has no accomplishments along with a total lack of vision. If HIllary were elected it would be like electing another Community Organizer.

Alan Greenspan vs. Naomi Klein on the Iraq War, Bush’s Tax Cuts, Economic Populism, Crony Capitalism and More
September 24, 2007 / http://tinyurl.com/4dke67
In a Democracy Now! exclusive debate, former federal reserve chairman Alan Greenspan and journalist Naomi Klein square off on the Iraq war, oil, President Bush tax cuts, social security, economic populism in Latin America, corruption and crony capitalism. Greenspan headed the central bank in the United States for almost two decades. He has written a new 500-page memoir titled,“The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World.” At one point in the debate, Klein asks Greenspan, " The policies that you pursued—deregulation, privatization, free trade—have contributed to this extraordinary division of income that is really the fuel for this economic populism that you’re now denouncing. Aren’t you the one that has caused this crisis of faith in capitalism?"

Congress: Yes, Obama Was Born in Hawaii ( 378 - 0 )

Yesterday, an innocuous-sounding resolution in honor of the 50th anniversary of Hawaiian statehood came up for vote on the House floor.

The resolution from Hawaii Democrat Neil Abercrombie, which Greg Sargent first reported, included this line: "Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii…"

Why is that notable? Because it's just the sort of claim that angers the birthers – the movement of folks who believe, against overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that President Obama was not really born in Hawaii, and is thus not a U.S. citizen.

LOL!!! Obama was also born a citizen of the UK.

......to be citizens are "all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof." The evident meaning of these last words is not merely subject in some respect or degree to the jurisdiction of the United States, but completely subject to their political jurisdiction and owing them direct and immediate allegiance. And the words relate to the time of birth in the one case, as they do to the time of naturalization in the other. Persons not thus subject to the jurisdiction of the United States at the time of birth cannot become so afterwards except by being naturalized, either individually, as by proceedings under the naturalization acts, or collectively, as by the force of a treaty by which foreign territory is acquired. Elk v. Wilkins (1884)

What is a dual-citizen, is it one that has two citizenships/allegiances? If so, a dual-citizenship is no better than a naturalized citizenship.

Jacques,
One of the worst things about Ronald Reagan was that he gave America both George Bushes.
George H.W. Bush was his running mate.
I remember Iowa in 1980. They were at each other's throat vying for the GOP nomination.
They were slinging mud at each other left and right.
I remember it plain as day. I couldn't believe it when Reagan chose Bush as his VP.

Exactly. That is why Obama is a natural born citizen. He was not subject to any foreign power when he was born. British law had no force or effect in Honolulu, Hawaii. Why cannot Dufus Dale figure that out.

The air traffic controllers weren't too fond of Reagan either.
They had legitimate gripes and he fired them all en mass.
He was a trailblazer in that regard. He fired something like 37,000 of them with a stroke of the pen.
It took the United States years to recover from his bull-headed handling of that strike.
He did those guys a favor by getting them out of the aviation industry.

The current prediction for Sunspot Cycle 24 gives a smoothed sunspot number maximum of about 70 in the fall of 2013. The smoothed sunspot number reached 75.0 in October 2013) so the official maximum will be at least this high. The smoothed sunspot number has been rising again towards this second peak over the last five months and has now surpassed the level of the first peak (66.9 in February 2012). Many cycles are double peaked but this is the first in which the second peak in sunspot number was larger than the first. We are currently over five years into Cycle 24. The current predicted and observed size makes this the smallest sunspot cycle since Cycle 14 which had a maximum of 64.2 in February of 1906.

He fired them because they refused to return to work. Yep, all union employees should be fired starting at the VA hospitals.
