LMAO!!! That would mean they aren't natural born. What does that have top do with Obama, since he was born a citizen of his fathers country? Wouldn't that at best make him a dual-citizen.

You and Atticus are very simple. The US can't prevent a child born in the US of a foreign father from receiving the citizenship of its father's country.

First, Rougetard, the baseline was not from 1979 to 2007, but from 1979 -2000.

Second, the more recent baseline is not from 1979-2010 but from 1981 - 2010. It includes years that were not available in 2007 because in 2007, like today, there was no time-machine technology.

Capisce?

Again, it was not possible to include 2008 - 2010 in a 2007 report.

A child born in the United States is a natural born citizen regardless as to his or her citizenship status bestow by a foreign nation. In other words, nationality laws of foreign nations are legallly irrelevant as to the natural born citizenship status of a child born in the United States.

Taking an average is simple arithmetic, Rougetard. If 2008-2010 were "not as bad" as 2007, then inclusion of 2008-2010 in the baseline would have the effect of increasing the baseline thickness, not decreasing it. The effect is opposite of what Rougetard claims. The new baseline actually diminishes the differences observed in the past several years.

Pathetic.

United States courts have long recognized that a child born in the United States to foreign nationals has no foreign allegiance or "foreign attachments" of those of his or her parents.

" At common law, a native is a person born within the jurisdiction and allegiance of a country, irrespective of the allegiance of his parents, except the child of an ambassador. Ex parte Palo, 3 F. 2d 44, 45 (W.D. Wa 1925)(internal citation omitted).[I]t has consistently been held judicially that one born in the United States and subject to its jurisdiction is, from birth, a citizen of the United States; that such citizenship does not depend upon like citizenship of his or her parents, or of either of them (except in the case of the children of ambassadors etc.). United States v. Richmond, 274 F. Supp. 43, 56 (CD Ca 1967). See also Von Schwerdtner v. Piper, 23 F. 2d 862 (D. MD 1928)(child born in the United States to German nationals). "A person who is born in the United States, regardless of the citizenship of his parents, becomes an American citizen not by gift of Congress but by force of the Constitution. U.S.C.A., Constitutional Amendment 14, Section 1." In re Gogal, 75 F. Supp. 268, 271 (WD Pa 1947)

Justice Taft writing for the court in Weedin v. Chin Bow, 274 US 657 (1927) observed:
"The majority in that case [Wong Kim Ark], as already said, held that the fundamental principle of the common law with regard to nationality was birth within the allegiance of the Government and that one born in the United States, although of a race and of a parentage denied naturalization under the law, was nevertheless under the language of the Fourteenth Amendment a citizen of the United States by virtue of the jus soli embodied in the Amendment." United States is not governed by foreign nationality laws. A foreign nation law that bestows citizenship of those children born to its citizens or subjects outside its territorial jurisdiction doesn't strip a child born in the United States of his or natural born citizenship birthright.

In other words, The United States doesn't share its jurisdiction of its citizens with another nation within the boundaries of the United States. It would be travesty of justice to allow foreign nation laws to dictate the citizenship status of children born in the United States.

It is the right of said sovereign nation to choose its citizens, as long as that citizen agrees. And tell you what, even if said citizen agrees and applies and obtains citizenship of that sovereign nation, but remains in the United States, said sovereign nation has no jurisdiction over him/her.

I'll go you one further. For example, a German citizen is travelling in the United States. He is arrested for ...whatever. The U.S. can do what it wants with or to him/her, and there is nothing, constitutionally or otherwise, that Germany can do about it. Oh, according to the Vienna convention, the U.S. has to grant consular visits, obtain a lawyer, and on behalf of the German citizen, correspond with kit and kin. That's it. U.S. sovereignty applies 100% on this non-U.S. citizen.

Comparing a 1979 - 2000 data baseline to a 1981 - 2010 baseline makes virtually no difference whatsoever. And in fact comparing the March baseline from 1979-2000 against the March baseline 1981-2010 shows that it would not have made any significant difference which baseline was used.

http://tinyurl.com/qjx8me9

http://tinyurl.com/q3fsul7

How about comparing apples to apples rather than coconuts to peanuts?

The Rougetard was comparing one baseline data set from July through November, when the ice extent is low to a December through April when the extent is high, when in fact, if you compare Jan - May (1979-2000) vs Dec - April (1981-2010), where there is an overlap of several months, it is evident that the baselines are nearly identical.

Grow up Rougetard.

If you believe that our citizenship laws should be dictated by the capricious whims of a foreign nation then what is to prevent a foreign nation from retroactively granting citizenship to descendants of its citizens or subjects two or three generations ago? What is to prevent England from granting British citizenship to those Americans and their descendants retroactively July 5, 1776?

Nonsense. No government can strip a foreign citizenship under any circumstances. Nevertheless, foreign law (including citizenship law), as it pertains to persons in this country, has no force or effect in the US. A 10-year old should be able to understand that. Why not Dufus Dale?
