It's a waste of time to compare present and past presidents' levels of intellect. I sincerely believe that to reach that highest of offices, no man or woman can be dumb. But, to write that "Of course we all know he is not even close to being in that intellectual class of previous presidents" which includes, I presume, GWB, is , well, there you have it - this only goes to show that had you been president, it wouldn't have been hard to figure who was the dumbest.

Is it to hate GWB to affirm that he presided over two losing wars that HE initiated, and that he presided over the greatest economic catastrophe (widely acknowledged, not a mirage, it happened) since the Great Depression? I don't hate him, cripes I don't even hate our present prime minister even though I have trouble sleeping knowing he's in charge...Hate is a wasted loser's emotional not-able-to-respond knee-jerk reaction. Like, for example, the reason why you hate that BLACK usurper in the WHITE House, Barack Obama.

Do you mean to say you had no family help, no bank help, no municipal, state, federal business tax rebates or exemptions help, that the tax-payer paid-for streets and transport bringing clients to your place of work had nothing to do with it, that gov't-paid schools that taught your employees their skills had nothing to do with it? I could go on and on.

If you're going to post links instead of speaking for yourself, at least try to choose one that supports your way of thinking.

And of course the UN and NATO had it right as usual.
http://articles.latimes.com/1999/oct/29/local...
http://www.serbianna.com/columns/savich/036.s...
NATO and the US State Department claimed that up to 500,000 Kosovo Albanians had been murdered in Kosovo in a planned and systematic genocide. But after the bombing, these figures could not be substantiated. A Spanish Forensic team under Emilio Pujol found no mass graves. Pujol stated that there was no evidence of genocide. He stated that he came to examine 2,500 bodies but found only 187. All other war crimes investigations could find no evidence of genocide. What was the explanation?
NATO and the US State Department argued that the Serbs had burned the bodies thereby destroying the evidence. This is where the Trepca Crematoria Ovens Hoax enters the picture. The Trepca case was revived by Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) in 2001 in an investigative story entitled “The Promise of Justice” produced by American Radio Works in which it was maintained that the Serbs had indeed incinerated or cremated the bodies of 1,200 to 1,500 Albanians civilians executed during the conflict. The source or evidence for the allegations was hearsay statements made by Serb “fighters” who had been part of “a secret army” called Frenkies Boys. The MPR report, broadcast on National Public Radio (NPR), presented no evidence at all. The only source was hearsay.
Immediately following the MPR/NPR story, the OSCE reported that it had investigated the Trepca Complex and furnaces and found no evidence of the incineration of any bodies. A French team had determined that the Trepca Complex had been closed since late March, shortly after the NATO bombing began, and had never reopened. So the Trepca Complex never even operated during the bulk of the Kosovo bombing by NATO! Moreover, Benjamin Works found out that US satellites had infra-red heat sensors that could detect heat emissions at Trepca. Works was informed by NATO/US sources that no signs of heat were detected by the satellites. Works was told that Trepca was as “cold as a cucumber”. NATO never released this information to the public. The evidence provided by the UN, the OSCE, the ICTY, and French and Spanish forensic teams, showed that there were no burnings of corpses at Trepca.
What is the matter with you? Can't you read articles on world matters, pro and con and then write your version, your opinion? You keep foisting these unending biased links on us, it's interminable. Can't you think for yourself.

This last one was written by Carl Savich, a Serbian-American. We can only guess how impartial he may be. Pro-Soviet Serbs are on an equal footing brutality-wise with the Nazi-loving Croats, did you even know that?

So, those purported 300,000 deaths , murders as they were labelled,are all imaginary, all results of NATO bombings and internecine warfare? Sure. And Iraq was the same result as the old Yugoslavia? Tell me more.

weapons development program that was much closer to producing a

and destroy Iraq's weapons of mass destruction stockpiles and
development capabilities, which finally resulted in the withdrawal
of inspectors from Iraq on October 31, 1998;
Whereas in Public Law 105-235 (August 14, 1998), Congress concluded that
Iraq's continuing weapons of mass destruction programs threatened
vital United States interests and international peace and security,
declared Iraq to be in ``material and unacceptable breach of its
international obligations'' and urged the President ``to take
appropriate action, in accordance with the Constitution and relevant
laws of the United States, to bring Iraq into compliance with its
international obligations'';

Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski, a former Pentagon insider, concludes her observations on the run-up to the Iraq war in this last of a three-part series.
In my study of the neoconservatives, it was easy to find out whom in Washington they liked and whom they didn’t. They liked most of the Heritage Foundation and all of the American Enterprise Institute. They liked writers Charles Krauthammer and Bill Kristol. To find out whom they didn’t like, no research was required. All I had to do was walk the corridors and attend staff meetings. There were several shared prerequisites to get on the Neoconservative List of Major Despicable People, and in spite of the rhetoric hurled against these enemies of the state, most really weren’t Rodents of Unusual Size. Most, in fact, were retired from a branch of the military with a star or two or four on their shoulders. All could and did rationally argue the many illogical points in the neoconservative strategy of offensive democracy—guys like Brent Scowcroft, Barry McCaffrey, Anthony Zinni, and Colin Powell.

I was present at a staff meeting when Deputy Undersecretary Bill Luti called General Zinni a traitor. At another time, I discussed with a political appointee the service being rendered by Colin Powell in the early winter and was told the best service he could offer would be to quit. I heard in another staff meeting a derogatory story about a little Tommy Fargo who was acting up. Little Tommy was, of course, Commander, Pacific Forces, Admiral Fargo. This was shared with the rest of us as a Bill Luti lesson in civilian control of the military. It was certainly not civil or controlled, but the message was crystal.

http://americandefenseleague.wordpress.com/20...
Now I wholeheartedly agree with you that Clinton and Albright deserve the blame also.

----------

It was Bill Clinton who refined the art of killing innocent Iraqis following the Gulf War. One of his first acts as president was to bomb Iraq, following the alleged assassination plot against George HW Bush. Clinton's missiles killed the famed Iraqi painter Leila al Attar as they smashed into her home. Clinton presided enthusiastically over the most deadly and repressive regime of economic sanctions in history--his UN ambassador Madeline Albright calling the reported deaths of half a million children "worth the price." Clinton initiated the longest sustained bombing campaign since Vietnam with his illegal no-fly zone bombings, attacking Iraq once every three days for the final years of his presidency. It was under Clinton that Ahmed Chalabi was given tens of millions of dollars and made a key player in shaping Washington's Iraq policy. It was Clinton that mercilessly attacked Iraq in December of 1998, destroying dozens of Baghdad buildings and killing scores of civilians. It was Clinton that codified regime change in Iraq as US policy. Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq but he could not have done it without the years of groundwork laid by Clinton and the Democrats. How ironic it was recently to hear Clinton call the war "a big mistake."
