Election Suit Goes Forward / Civil Rights Groups Seek Changes In Florida Voting / MIAMI, Aug. 17, 2001 http://tinyurl.com/2qsthd
(CBS) A lawsuit filed by civil rights groups who contend black voters were disenfranchised last November won't come to a quick resolution.

U.S. District Judge Alan Gold has denied motions by Secretary of State Katherine Harris to dismiss the suit and by a county elections supervisor for a summary judgment. The judge's order was filed Tuesday.

The lawsuit, which included complaints from the Nov. 7 presidential election, asked the judge to eliminate punch-card ballots used in 25 counties, fix the state's system for purging voter lists and monitor Florida elections for 10 years. There was no effort to overturn the results of the presidential race won by George W. Bush.

"We're pleased the court ruled the way it did," said Anita Hodgkiss, an attorney with the Lawyers' Committee For Civil Rights Under Law. "All of these were important steps for us."

Jeb Bush blamed for unfair Florida election
Civil rights commission says minorities were disenfranchised by governor's 'gross dereliction' in ignoring problems

Thousands of black electors in Florida were disenfranchised in last November's election by an electoral system tainted by "injustice, ineptitude and inefficiency" a leaked report by the US civil rights commission says.
It accuses Governor Jeb Bush, the president's brother, and his secretary of state, Katherine Harris, of "gross dereliction" of duty, saying they "chose to ignore mounting evidence" of the problems.
The eight-strong commission, whose report will be published on Friday, found that black voters were "10 times more likely than white voters to have their ballots rejected", and pointed to the use of a flawed list of felons and ex-felons to purge the voting rolls.

That is laughable, no less. Our medical system is far from perfect, far from it, but it's cheaper than yours and leaves it in the dust. Why don't you count the number of Americans who come here for health care, seeing as it's cheaper to pay full Canadian rate , add travel expenses and lodging to the bill and still come out less expensive and better than home. Add to that, furthermore, the number of U.S. citizens travelling to Mexico, Central and South America for medical treatment. Finally, your life expectancy is 28 out of 34 OECD countries. Can you tell me why that is?
You're out of your league here, Mr. Chicago man, do your homework before sounding off.
Cheaper than ours? Leaves it in the dust? That only butresses my point? Surely you jest? That's why the best and the brightest are leaving Canada to practice in the States. Life expectancy of Other (than) European Camel Dung countries? You really do take the prize?

How clueless.

OECD comprises 34 of the world's richest and most industrialized countries. Camel dung countries include none of those and , incidentally, camel dung is demeaning birther language and no country, however strange, poor and "different" to your xenophobic mentality, deserves that appellation.

Yes, we lose many doctors to the U.S. Why? Just one example : A general medical yearly checkup here costs $85. That is just one example. In the U.S. from $250 to $500. So, yes, they head for the U.S. to make more money after having graduated from the best Canadian medical faculties at 1/3 the cost of tuition in the U.S.. After 5 or 6 years, over 1 quarter come back. Ask them why. The others, well, after they end their practice, they come back to good ole Canada. Why? Oh, because they are older and retired , need more medical attention and IT'S FREE HERE.

Mind you, none of our doctors, from GPs to specialists, are on food stamps. They earn minimum, as GPs,$250,000 a year, and more for specialists. But, what the hell, it's not enough for some. I don't mind that they leave, but resent their coming back for free health benefits for which they never paid taxes.

Oh, why do we need to extend unemployment benefits IF the economy is doing as well as YOU claim?!? Why is Bernanke still printing $75 Bln Obama Bucks a month if the economy is doing real well? You need to take your horse blinders off!
Ah but you also missed some very important FACTS such as QEs are not propping up the stock market.

The combined market capitalization of NYSE and NASDAQ stocks is 23.4 TRILLION DOLLARS.(1) If QE is 75 BILLION a month then how can it be propping up the stock market when it only only three tenth of one percent (.003) of the combined market capitalization of the NYSE and NASDAQ?

In other words, according to Rouge Scholar, for every $100 dollars of stocks in the stock market, the QE is adding 30 CENTS in order to prop up the U.S. stock market.

Kim Jong Un for President 2016
Posted in the US News Forum

==========

The above line does not tell of what country Kim is supposed to be president in 2016.

Since there is no election in 2016 in North Korea, that means the already president in North Korea is going for a try-out to be president in another country -- but which country?

Well then, there is something new.
What a change the world is going along.
Until time will tell, as cold war is over, this new-age planet is indeed a fast changing world in this changing time.
The positive aspects are that the world can only be a better world only with great people having great minds, that nobody is going to wipe out the world, as insanity is human evil which can demolish the human race.
