Unionized workers make up 11.4% of the American workforce. 11.4%!! If indeed those 11.4% control the whole industrial might of the United States, as you so "deftly" put it, I would say, the industrial might's not too bright and perhaps its CEOs should be replaced forthwith.
Why don't you get some education and find out what "socialist" means ? Oh, did you know that Switzerland has a socialist gov't? Been socialist as far back as I can remember. How's the Swiss economy working out?
So you're comparing the country of Switzerland, with a population of around 7,750,000 made up of mostly swiss people, to the United States with its 330 million made up of all the people of the world. Switzerland has about the same population as New York does Jacques. Talk about comparing an apple to an orange.

ARTICLE 119. Citizens of the U.S.S.R. have the right to rest and leisure. The right to rest and leisure is ensured by the reduction of the working day to seven hours for the overwhelming majority of the workers, the institution of annual vacations with full pay for workers and employees and the provision of a wide network of sanatoria, rest homes and clubs for the accommodation of the working people.

ARTICLE 120. Citizens of the U.S.S.R. have the right to maintenance in old age and also in case of sickness or loss of capacity to work. This right is ensured by the extensive development of social insurance of workers and employees at state expense, free medical service for the working people and the provision of a wide network of health resorts for the use of the working people.

This is just in case Jacques, wojar, and angel were wondering where all those cool ideas that they embrace and claim are not socialist came from.

Yes, the President appoints judges ...... but with the advice and consent of the Senate. Do you remember Judge Robert Bork? Who blocked him?
Do you know what the term "To Bork someone" means?

Who blocked Bork? The same people who confirmed numerous other Reagan appointees. They didn't systematically abuse the filibuster like the current GOP bunch.

Your damn right they should appose anyone that would be against the freedom and liberty that our founders gifted us, the "future generations", that have a responsibility to "serve and protect the constitution". That same oath that this president took as well and thumbs his nose at. Barry was the one that told us he would fundamentally change the country, and away from freedom is the only direction he could take it, and he has. To oppose those that hate what the country stands for is patriotic, and to compromise with them is to allow evil to win the day.
Sorry, but the judicial appointments do not conform to your paranoid rant. Refusal to confirm admittedly qualified judges because of Valerie Jarret? Really? Name one friggin communist judge he nominated. Moron.

Just think how much better you life will be under a National Socialist Party! You won't have to worry about any of the following.

1. Heath care, you won't live that long.
2. Jobs, everyone will work until they die.
3. Voting, that will be taken care of through your district manger.
4. Travel, you will have transportation to your job, everyday. Death is a Holiday.
5. Food, that will depend on your job.
6. Taxes, no such thing. The state owns everything.
7. Education, only what we teach you.
8. Retirement, see item (2).
9. Children, you don't have any, they belong to the state, as authorized by the state.
10. Death, don't worry, biofuel, you won't feel a thing.
11. Capitalism, just the thought will give you a Holiday. see item (4)

Just a few of the wonderful things supplied by a Socialist government.

HEIL, OBAMA!!!

So it's now that socialism can work in smaller countries but not larger? Is the critical size boundary governed by the Hubble Constant?

You're against "maintenance in old age ", namely social security, a pension? You're against rest and leisure?(vacation with pay), you're against the 7-hour day which, up to 8 hours is pretty standard worldwide, including the U.S.A.?, you're against free medical care which is available to 33 capitalist OECD countries whose peoples are happy with it? Health resorts? Not yet, but why not?

They are excellent ideas and we worked most of them into our systems. It's too bad the communistic Russians never did. To spell them out and not do them are two different things. Tell that to the comintern, not the socialists.

Show me where I compared the U.S. with Switzerland. I said it's a socialist gov't and it works. It's also an excellent microcosm. Three distinct cultures exist within its borders, German, French and Italian, 3 languages, 3 distinct cultures in 23 cantons. Microcosm, and an excellent example that we would all be smart to emulate in some respects. Oh, and hundreds of thousands of migrant workers.

As to rules 5, 6 and 12, why are you posting them? Who necessarily follows theoretical commandments. The Communists sure did not. Who follows the 10 Commandments to the letter? Not even the Church as one of them says not to steal or have sex outside marriage. Those two for starters. Do you, or does the gov't ALWAYS adhere to the Constitution - like, is spying on citizens okayed by said Constitution? And, speaking of socialism, what highways do you drive on, what schools do you and your children frequent, who defends you against your enemies, who but the police are paid by YOU to protect the citizenry, who puts out the fires, who inspects your food (all right, they don't but they're supposed to), who conducts your foreign affairs, who pays your post office deficit and so on and so on. All socialist stuff. Do you think they should all be abolished? We should begin with tolls when you drive from your house to work or to the supermarket and go on from there.

Ooooo, how evil of a judge to rule on an issue the way the writers of our Constitution originally mean it!!!
Advocacy of originalism
Bork was best known for his theory that the only way to reconcile the role of the judiciary in the U.S. government against what he terms the "Madisonian" or "counter-majoritarian " dilemma of the judiciary making law without popular approval is for constitutional adjudication to be guided by the framers' original understanding of the United States Constitution. Reiterating that it is a court's task to adjudicate and not to "legislate from the bench," he has advocated that judges exercise restraint in deciding cases, emphasizing that the role of the courts is to frame "neutral principles" (a term borrowed from Herbert Wechsler) and not simply ad hoc pronouncements or subjective value judgments. Bork once said, "The truth is that the judge who looks outside the Constitution always looks inside himself and nowhere else."

What is noted about this article is where it is posted which is top-center on Yahoo News. The tide is turning on the bigotted loony-lefty media like MSNBC!

Martin Bashir's Crude Emissions on Palin
By L. Brent Bozell 17 hours ago

Like most MSNBC hosts, Martin Bashir has been hypersensitive to slights aimed at President Barack Obama, real or imagined. He was shocked at a picture in January 2012 showing Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer pointing a finger at Obama on the tarmac in Phoenix. He somehow imagined the disrespect was "unprecedented!"

When then-Rep. Joe Walsh decided to skip an Obama jobs speech before Congress in the fall of 2011, Bashir was shocked. "Are you able to be as disrespectful to the office of president by simply walking away from something that every member of the Congress is going to attend? Is that also" — here it comes — "because he's black?"

These demands on Obama's behalf make Bashir's astonishing disrespect of Sarah Palin all the more glaring. Even liberals are still lamenting how Bashir lectured on Nov. 15 that Sarah Palin's face should be urinated and defecated on.

Rush Limbaugh was right. Just imagine the liberal fury had Bill O'Reilly proposed this be done to Obama.

Outraged that Palin in her "long-deceased mind" would dare suggest our national debt to China is going to feel like slavery when the note comes due, Bashir read from some slave owner's diary dating to 1756. "A slave named Darby catched eating canes; had him well flogged and pickled, then made Hector, another slave, s*** in his mouth." In another incident, the cruel master "flogged Punch well, and then washed and rubbed salt pickle, lime juice and bird pepper; made Negro Joe piss in his eyes and mouth." Bashir concluded Palin would be an "outstanding candidate" for these excretory punishments.

Have you figured out why auto companies have moved out of Detroit to states that are "Right to Work" states? And why is Boeing making wings for their Boeing 787 in ...... Japan? Don't blame Bush now!!!
Right to work states are states that have very little union representation, where wages are lower, and I'd be curious to know what the percentage of meal tickets is on those 'right to work" states.

Japan's making wings, yes. So? You think the U.S. should manufacture 100% of ALL its goods? You can be sure, though, that if Boeing is doing it, it's because it's cheaper and better quality AND, being such an expensive machine, countries building components are "risk sharers" Japan is just that, and therefore gets wings work. 65% of the 787 is built mostly in Japan, Australia and Italy, did you know that? As I said, Rogue, being a pilot does not make one an aviation specialist. You are the proof of the pudding.
