Only partly right. The Convair was much thirstier than the 707, early versions were medium range only and seating was in a 3-2 configuration, 120 tops in single class economy as compared to up to 190 in the 707 in similar seating plan. Only the first-year 707 versions had to refuel in Gander on east-west transatlantic flights. Also, the Convair had wing problems (not unlike the early-version DC8) which forced the airlines that had bought it to have them in the "shop" too often. Now, if you want to compare the Boeing 707 to the Convair 880, that would be a fair comparison. The only reason why the Boeing product took off was because the Air Force ordered the KC-135 version of the Boeing 707 thus reducing R&D expenses and Convair could not make up the difference. Now if you want to compare the Boeing 707 to the Boeing 747, that is not a fair comparison.
Saying the Heritage Plan was the same as RomneyCare was the same as PelosiCare if like comparing a cat to a dog to a rat. Oh course I can understand that someone like you, using Libtardian Logic, can make a twisted comparison. And that is why you think homosexuality is NORMAL.
The KC-135 programme certainly gave a good early lead to the 707, but that was only part of the reason is eclipsed both the 880 and 990 and for a while, the DC8, which though successful, only sold half as many as the 707. Etc etc.
