You wrote, "Why is it that anyone that disagrees with a liberal is not only an idiot in their eyes, but they declare them to be liars as well?" Excuse me, treating people as idiots and dumb is a republican right wing thing. As an example,[;ease re-read a few posts here from repubs and particularly, birthers. Need I add their offensive language that is not normally used by the so-called socialists, left wings and "libtards" (Rogue tm reg'd) here.
Democrats took on health care because 50 million were uninsured, not 30 million. ONE single citizen of a rich country like yours, the richest in the world, no?, without universal health care is one citizen too many. It's medieval. The only one of 34 OECD countries, not to count many non-OECD ones in such a sad situation. 50 million non-insured, and more than 100 million partly or badly-insured. And, for many, premiums in the thousands of dollars per month for a small family, with deductibles aplenty. What is the private insurance industry doing in health care anyway? Yes, the democrats took it on, and not the first time. Good for them. As I've always said, ALL social legislation came from democrats. Zero for republicans in the whole of U.S. history.
Dems refused to take in the Repubs for negotiations? Are you kidding? The Repubs, owned by insurance companies, are not negotiable. They don't want any form of medicare. Any.
The web site is bad news, who would disagree? What's that got to do with the quality or non-quality of Obamacare?
The president does not decide who gets what in Obamacare. You're smart enough to do better. This is a first in the U.S., never been done. Americans are a "know-what-to-do people, they'll sort it out in spite of the Ted Cruzes of our day. With possibly two Dem houses next year, it should be improved some more.
Why does gov't universal health care work everywhere else in the world? Why does no one, right or left politically, want to take down their system, and this, not in ONE single country. Why does the patchwork of U.S. health care, before obamacare, with 50 million uninsured, cost more per capita than any other country on this globe?
You seem quite ignorant of our history Jacque from Canada. It was northern Christian republicans that fought for the equality and freedom of our fellow black man, and sent tens of thousands of their sons to fight and die for the preservation of the union that the democrats were trying to destroy(and still are) so they could continue to own and work them in their fields. It is the USA that has lead the world in medical innovations, and drug technology for decades. As a matter of fact, it was the christian church that started modern healthcare. I can sue my insurance company but not my government if I believe they have harmed me or my family. The high cost of medicine in our country, along with our expensive and failing education system is a result of our government involving themselves in it Jacque. If the free markets were permitted to function as designed, and we did not have government taxing policy meddling in the private affairs of a free people, we would be just fine. Government is tyranny. Government is rule by force. Our country is on a crash course with bankruptcy with Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security leading the way. At $17 trillion and counting, with another $90 trillion in unfunded mandates in our foreseeable future, it won't be long. If we want our system run efficiently we need to let Google or Amazon run the sign up program and BC/BS and Aetna handle the insurance. The idea that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and according to that savant Madonna, our muslim president knows best for 330 million people is a cruel joke. Almost as cruel as the 1-800 number that clarifies clearly when you substitute the letters the numbers represent what they are doing to us all.

How is this for rational, objective thinking? Everything that is good in America is because of democrats and liberals. Everything that is mediocre in America is because of republicans (cosmetic conservatives in lip service only). Everything that is bad in America is because of evil conservatives. That is the kind of thinking that a rational person can sit down and negotiate with, and really solve societies problems and challenges. Hey Jacque, do you ever push yourself away from that computer screen? I'm a little concerned about you. Try getting outside and enjoying some of that clean, crisp, Canadian air you are blessed by. I know that the Christian Church was, for a long time, a leader and, often the only caregiver. Tell me something I don't know. But unless you've been Rip Van Winkeling the last 50 years or so, religious orders have become well nigh inexistent. Who's to replace them. And do you think that religious orders charges, in today's dollars,$3,500 for a gum examination and injection, taking all of 5 minutes in the ER?(see wojar).

You further wrote : " not my government if I believe they have harmed me or my family. The high cost of medicine in our country, along with our expensive and failing education system is a result of our government involving themselves in it Jacque."

Really? Medicine, up to now, has been mostly in private hands. The gov't may be responsible for medicine's high costs, but only because its lawmakers were in the insurance and hospitals' and drug companies' pockets. And they remain so, when one considers that obamacare, because of Repub pressures, has remained in private insurance hands. As to education, failing you say? Yes, as per most countries where the quality of education is spiralling down. I've seen it here, and in Europe even. Gov't is certainly partly responsible. Your solution would be to privatise it so tuition fees could approach, though on a primary and secondary slide-down scale, the levels of Harvard,MIT and Yale etc at ridiculous %50,000 per year? Oh Yeah. Oh,incidentally, European University is free and , far as I know, same or better quality than yours or mine. How do the do it? Good question.

And "If the free markets were permitted to function as designed, and we did not have government taxing policy meddling in the private affairs of a free people, we would be just fine."

Well, the GWB gov't did just that. Relaxed bank, mtge and broker regulations. We know what followed. Not only did those bandits make loads of money that was not rightfully theirs, no, they then got a bailout. As Rooney would say, "that's the rest of the story". Yes, free unbridled capitalism 1929 and 2008 style, both under Repub administarations btw.

"let Aetna run the insurance", you say. My current Consumer Reports magazines pegs Aetna as the lowest and poorest serviced health care insurance of the whole lot in the U.S.of A. Got another one you'd like to suggest?

The 1-800 number is accidentally a bad choice letter-wise. You don't like socialism, you don't like Dems and you abhor Obama. Nonetheless, do you really think that the administration is so stupid that it would intentionally concoct such a stupid phone number? You call your president Muslim. Two things :

1. Why do you make that up? That is a birther tactic;
2. Suppose he WAS Muslim, are you not a fanatic for your constitution which allows freedom of religion? As per the bible, are there interpretations or exceptions to the rule of law and religion?

If I've left anything untouched from your missive, let me know,I'll gladly reply. All of the above is from memory, zilch from any source. Shows you how ignorant I am of American affairs.

Tell us all about tax breaks for the rich beginning with GWB's first mandate, then two unfunded wars, one based on phantasms that Afghanistan housed 9/11 terrorists (S.Arabia did that, but hey, attack that giant oil country? No way) where the main culprit was finally killed by a Dem president and on more phantasms that Iraq had WMDs. All republican stuff. Tell us who instituted social security, some kind of health care for the non-qualified, unemployment insurance, maternity leave, vacation leave, sick leave. The Repubs? LMAO (LRS tm reg'd).

Don't be concerned about me. Be concerned for your vaunted Repub party in the Nov 2014 mid-elections.

Are you serious? The democrats hardly existed when the Civil War broke out, so what are you talking about? And, I've said a million times here on Topix that the Republicans were the "good guys" up to the FDR and the 1930s. Pendulum then reversed itself and the Dems became the "equalizers" of race and gender, taking off with JFK and LBJ. The Repubs swung right starting in the 50s and continuing on, though Eisenhower did perceive the perils of pro-business Repubs. He knew what he was talking about, particularly the Military-industrial complex, with emphasis on military.

You then wrote :"It is the USA that has lead the world in medical innovations, and drug technology for decades. As a matter of fact, it was the christian church that started modern healthcare. I can sue my insurance company but not my government if I believe they have harmed me or my family"

Really? Again,if you've read me at all, you'd know I've been saying all along that the U.S.A. was a leader in medical innovations and drug technology. A leader, yes, but not alone, as you'd have to factor in Western Europe, Japan, Australasia, Canada. You're not alone. And those famous medical miracles are only available to a perhaps half of the U.S. population. Before Obamacare, fully 50 million Americans without coverage could not avail themselves of these famous medical advances or drugs. Add to that millions who would be followed to their doctors' or hospitals' offices by an insurance company inspector(see LRS).

Religious orders you say? What? They're non-existent,poor you. Private insurance and hospital corps have replaced them, turning a free religious gum 5-minute procedure into a $3,500 bill, ask wojar. We cannot sue gov't? Plenty patients have sued gov't here for malpractice, but no ridiculous $10 million suit for a finger infection allowed here.

Thanks, and yes I mainly agree with you. Clinton did do that, as he did what Obama resisted , and rightly so, doing, that is to bend to blackmail and terrorism. Clinton did approve right wing legislation, which allowed him to pass some of HIS pro-people legislation? That is why Gingrich's gov't stoppage halted. Did he do right? I don't know.

I also lose my post sometimes and who knows where it goes?

The liberals wanted the government to buy medicines in bulk thus lessen the cost, Obama and his corporate Democrats said NO.

The Liberals wanted Single Payer ( Medicare For All ), Obama and his corporate Democrats said NO.

The Liberals wanted a Public Option to compete with private insurance, Obama and his corporate Democrats said NO.

Enclosed is an hour talk on the facts leading up to the meltdown of 2008. It gives a better perspective and understanding of what really happened.

Unlike the status of children born in the US who are natural born citizens per binding precedent (even if born of alien parents), there is no binding precedent governing putative natural born citizen status of children born beyond US jurisdiction.

The Play Justice seems to believe that the court by not addressing the status of children of citizens born beyond jurisdiction of the US somehow negated it's clear declaration,“we conclude that persons born within the borders of the United States are 'natural born Citizens' for Article II, Section 1 purposes, regardless of the citizenship of their parents.”

Will it ever dawn on the practitioners of Play Law? I doubt it.
