Nothing to laugh about there.

I had a kid in our program who was an autistic savant.

He told me that he saw numbers as geometric shapes. Sounded ridiculous to me until he picked up a pencil and drew the number 67 as he saw it.

Looked like a square with what I can only describe as a pinwheel on each corner. As he spun the wheels, the values would change.

To see math IN shapes and lines and not defining shapes and lines was amazing.

Life on Earth? Everything I mentioned is/was "life" on Earth.
Yes, I know.

I was trying to express that the particular documentary that I linked was more about the planet Earth with life as one of the things going on.

It was not the primary subject matter. But it gives you a solid foundation of the evolution of life to build on.

Well, I'm off to the casino. Oh, never go to a casino expecting luck. It doesn't exist. Just spend 24 hours in a casino and see how your luck is. LMAO

That is a remarkable case. There is neurological basis for some people seeing colors paired with certain tones. In fact that is the basis for the term, "blue note".

Some people actually can associate colors with tones, and their brains have the wiring to do so.

Scrutiny,
I'm going to share something very special with you guys.
I want you to watch this video. No so much for the slide show, which you will enjoy, but mainly for the music.
You have to listen very closely and carefully and I want you to tell me what instruments you hear.
It's a Chopin Nocturne,... Opus 9 No. 1 in B flat minor to be specific.
It was written for piano, but I think it's a marimba that I am hearing, but I am not quite sure.
It's an 8 minute video, but the piece is played twice, fyi.

Strange, as Modigliani , Picasso, Brach, borrowed from Africa for their art, so did our best musicians, and that marimba sound transports me back to the black continent. I heard Bach performed on a xylophone in Abidjan a long while back. Same sounds you've lent us, loose, or close. Also heard it, but more in Latin-American mode in Brazil at Iguazu, a concert at the foot of the famous falls, WOW, mind bender. I don't know music as well as you and wojar and Srutiny, but as the old saying goes, I know what I like.

Rather, it's you who has no place in the discussion. You don't see me discussing a subject I know very little about. Why do you? I learned in my profession that it was far better to leave the floor to those who know and pose intelligent questions rather than make ignorant statements.

This is turning into a bloodbath, LRS. You're way out of your element here. Just read what Scrutiny and wojar have to expound on the subject and learn if you can.

Not laughing here. Try pure Ghanaian hash and put the music on, any music. Rap will sound like Beethoven's fifth and you will discover perfect pitch in the colours of the rainbow.

I personally wouldn't know but that's what they tell me. LMAO (LRS tm reg'd)

I promise you know more about music than I do.

I can make a guitar do what I want it to. That is about the limit of my own musical talents.

My father, brother, and son are all gifted in their own rights.

Huh? Both the Certification of Live Birth (now called a Certificate of Live Birth) and the Certificate as previously issued originate from DOH. Either way, they are legitimate birth certificates issued by DOH.
Sorry, loser, you (an individual) cannot mail in a certificate of live birth to DOH. You got it arse backwards. DOH issues the document. BTW, loser it was a hospital birth. Got a clue? Delivering physician David A Sinclair, M. D. signed the document which was forwarded to DOH via the friggin' HOSPITAL.
Duh!

I hear this one a lot.

Like the eye is some sort of magic.

First, take into consideration that we are all but blind. Of the entire electromagnetic spectrum we can can only perceive a percentage of it. And that percentage is so tiny it is difficult to express with numbers. There would be many zeros before you got to the first rational number.

A list of what we can not see would be vastly larger than a list of what we can.

Secondly, our eyes are engineered backwards. Our brain has to flip images to perceive what is right in front of us. In fact, our eyes are wired backward as well.

There are literally hundreds of animals that make our eyes look like a 1950's Polaroid camera. In fact, almost every animal and insect on Earth owns at least one. And more often than not they have it all over us. Night vision, infra red, ability to perceive radiation...etc.
----------

Did you know that Einstein claimed we could never split that atom without putting in more energy than we got out?

I believe he said something like this...(apologies if I butcher his words but this is the gist of it.)

"Splitting the atom would be like bird hunting in the pitch black, in a country with very few birds."

So, here you have the man who all but invented the Atom Bomb claiming that an Atom Bomb was impossible.

But that is the thing about science. None of us are infallible. Science evolves just as most everything else.
