By the way, it is not racist that most of those in prison are LIBERALS regardless of the color of their skin. Just like then 6,700 Occutards who were arrested compared to the half-dozen TEA Partiers who were arrested inn the same time frame. The more Liberal you are, the more likely you are to commit crimes!

Does anyone want to guess how many Democrats and Republicans will vote in the House for Obama's intervention into Syria?
I'm not in favor of our intervention in Syria but I suspect a greater percentage of Republicans will vote 'yea' than Democrats.
Now in the Senate Democrats who are not up for reelection next year will probably vote 'yea' too.

Conservative leader Abbott sweeps into power in Australian elections
By Rob Taylor and James Grubel
SYDNEY/CANBERRA | Sat Sep 7, 2013 8:35am EDT
(Reuters)- Australia's conservative leader Tony Abbott swept into office in national elections on Saturday as voters punished the outgoing Labor government for six years of turbulent rule and for failing to maximize the benefits of a now fading mining boom.
....
Election officials said with about 80 percent of the vote counted, Abbott's Liberal-National Party coalition had won around 52.6 percent of the national vote, and projected it would win at least 88 seats in the 150-seat parliament.
Abbott could end up with a majority of around 30 seats, ending the country's first minority government since World War Two. Labor had relied upon independent and Greens support for the past three years......
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/07/us-...
First, indicate how Reuters leans left and where you get that sort of information. Second, Reuters is a Canadian company headed by the richest family in Canada, the Thomson Family. It is a centre-right family backing the conservative pretty much at every election, be it federal or provincial.

Having said that, Thomson's Reuters and newspapers pretty much report the news as is and leaves its opinions for the editorial page and columnists. As far as I know, it does not editorialize and invent the news like your favourite FoxNews.com , Washington Star, National Enquirer and so forth. It's a worthwhile and decent centre-right publication, like the centre-left Washington Post and NYT that publishes first and opines later. You still don't know the difference, do you?

As to Australia, and in spite of hard recession times, it's done very well the last 6 years. But the gov't has changed. So what? It's got to happen and it does all the time.

Video: Kids storm Taco Bell, record fight inside
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Kids stormed the Taco Bell on 103rd Street last Thursday and started an all-out fight inside.
It was all caught on camera.
The video is clear as day. You can watch as the kids cross the street, rush through the front door and start a fistfight inside. The whole thing is two minutes long and it was posted on the Internet.
It appears to be premeditated. In the video, you can see the punches fly, all with spectators cheering the antagonizers on.
We showed the video to Velinda Sellers, who dines at this Taco Bell and was horrified watching the fight unfold.
"They think that they can do anything that they want," she said. "I think they think it's a joke."
Some experts say it's a trend we can expect to see more of. You may remember the flash mob that broke out inside a Jacksonville Walmart in July 2012. Then over the Memorial Day holiday, another big brawl broke out at Jacksonville Beach.

Quoting the article:
"A new study conducted at Harvard University shows that in America,
Liberals have a significantly lower IQ than Conservatives. The study was
conducted on 100,000 registered voters in 40 different states over the
last twelve years, and has concluded its results.

The first part of the study lists the correlation between political
beliefs and intelligence. Subjects of the study were chosen at random
and requested to come to an unmarked van to take a test and answer some
questions for a reasonable amount of money.

Of the 100,000 people, there were people from many doctrines, from
conservative to liberal to marxist to fascist. Socialists came out on
bottom, with an average IQ of 87. The second worst were Liberals and
then Marxists, with 88 and 89 respectively. Conservatives received an
average score of 110, which is significantly above average. "

Also,

"
Other parts of the study included the daily activities of the various
people based on their doctrines. Apparently, Liberals are five times
more likely to commit a crime, steal or cheat on a test than anybody
else except for Socialists, 52% of which have committed a major felony
while being watched. Conservatives not only did not commit any crimes,
but they actually prevented them, as the few events where a Conservative
was threatened by a thief or mugger was hindered by a concealed
handgun. Also, Communists are the most likely to commit rape or sexual
assault, second to socialists.

Bush's Guard Service In Question
Democrats Say President Shirked His Duty in 1972
February 3, 2004 / http://tinyurl.com/37uhr
It was an era when service in the Guard was a coveted assignment, often associated with efforts to avoid active duty in Vietnam. Bush was accepted for pilot training after having scored only 25 percent on the pilot's aptitude test, the lowest acceptable grade.
In 2000, the Boston Globe examined a period from May 1972 to May 1973 and found no record that Bush performed any Guard duties, either in Alabama or Houston, although he was still enlisted.
In August 1972, Bush was suspended from flying because he failed to complete an annual medical exam. A month later, Bush requested to be assigned to a different unit in Alabama and was approved. Although he was required to attend periodic drills in Alabama, there is no official record in his file that he did.
According to the records, Bush had been instructed to report to William Turnipseed, an officer in the Montgomery unit. "Had he reported in, I would have had some recall and I do not," Turnipseed, a retired brigadier general, told the Globe in 2000. "I had been in Texas, done my flight training there. If we had a first lieutenant from Texas, I would have remembered." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles...

CIA moonlights in corporate world
2/1/10 http://tinyurl.com/y99oxt9
In the midst of two wars and the fight against Al Qaeda, the CIA is offering operatives a chance to peddle their expertise to private companies on the side — a policy that gives financial firms and hedge funds access to the nation’s top-level intelligence talent, POLITICO has learned.
In one case, these active-duty officers moonlighted at a hedge-fund consulting firm that wanted to tap their expertise in “deception detection,” the highly specialized art of telling when executives may be lying based on clues in a conversation.

The CIA and the Media
by Carl Bernstein / Rolling Stone, Oct. 20, 1977 / http://tinyurl.com/r3yon
- Employees of so-called CIA "proprietaries." During the past twenty-five years, the Agency has secretly bankrolled numerous foreign press services, periodicals and newspapers -- both English and foreign language -- which provided excellent cover for CIA operatives.
Columnists and commentators. There are perhaps a dozen well-known columnists and broadcast commentators whose relationships with the CIA go far beyond those normally maintained between reporters and their sources. They are referred to at the Agency as "known assets" and can be counted on to perform a variety of undercover tasks; they are considered receptive to the Agency"s point of view on various subjects.

Murky details of CIA relationships with individuals and news organizations began trickling out in 1973 when it was first disclosed that the CIA had, on occasion, employed journalists. Those reports, combined with new information, serve as casebook studies of the Agency's use of journalists for intelligence purposes.

The New York Times -- The Agency's relationship with the Times was by far its most valuable among newspapers, according to CIA officials.[It was] general Times policy ... to provide assistance to the CIA whenever possible.

... CIA officials cite two reasons why the Agency's working relationship with the Times was closer and more extensive than with any other paper: the fact that the Times maintained the largest foreign news operation in American daily journalism; and the close personal ties between the men who ran both institutions ....

The Columbia Broadcasting System -- CBS was unquestionably the CIA's most valuable broadcasting asset. CBS president William Paley and Allen Dulles enjoyed an easy working and social relationship. Over the years, the network provided cover for CIA employees, including at least one well-known foreign correspondent and several stringers; it supplied outtakes of newsfilm to the CIA; established a formal channel of communication between the Washington bureau chief and the Agency; gave the Agency access to the CBS newsfilm library; and allowed reports by CBS correspondents to the Washington and New York newsrooms to be routinely monitored by the CIA. Once a year during the 1950s and early 1960s, CBS correspondents joined the CIA hierarchy for private dinners and briefings.

... At the headquarters of CBS News in New York, Paley's cooperation with the CIA is taken for granted by many news executives and reporters, despite the denials. Paley, 76, was not interviewed by Salant's investigators. "It wouldn't do any good," said one CBS executive. "It is the single subject about which his memory has failed."

Every time I see the words "peer-reviewed", I know it is a loony-lefty site. You see, they surround themselves with like minded people who review each others works so it only means "they" all agree.
The same when I read "non-affiliated" which implies they are politically neutral but they actually have a progressive agenda.

Social Psychology Quarterly
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Social Psychology Quarterly is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes theoretical and empirical papers in the field of social psychology. The editors-in-chief are Karen A. Hegtvedt (Emory University) and Cathryn Johnson (Emory University). It is published by SAGE Publications on behalf of the American Sociological Association, of which this is an official journal.

Bush defends military service record in NBC interview /
President also backs Tenet, war against Iraq
http://tinyurl.com/2zyjug Feb. 9, 2004

President Bush defended his service in the National Guard during an interview aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and offered to produce evidence to counter allegations raised by political opponents that he was AWOL for a time in 1972.

On “Meet the Press,” Bush said,“I put in my time, proudly so.” When pressed by Russert on why news reporters who previously investigated the charge could find no records of his Alabama service, Bush said,“They’re just wrong. There may be no evidence, but I did report; otherwise, I wouldn’t have been honorably discharged.

In other words, you don’t just say ‘I did something’ without there being verification. Military doesn’t work that way. I got an honorable discharge, and I did show up in Alabama.” http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4209283/

When asked why he served less than the six-year commitment, Bush responded,“I was going to Harvard Business School and worked it out with the military.”

MILITARY 101:

The military releases individuals for the convenience of the military, NOT FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF THE INDIVIDUAL ( e.g., so someone could attend business school).

Because the 111th FIS had a need for pilots at the time Bush was discharged, and because his early release could not have been for his own convenience, there must have been a reason the military could no longer use the services of Dumbya Bush.

Listen to ignorant Bush in his own words:

On “Meet the Press,” Bush said,“I put in my time, proudly so.” When pressed by Russert on why news reporters who previously investigated the charge could find no records of his Alabama service, Bush said,“They’re just wrong.
