The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 was forced on Pres. Bush just a month before the general election of 2008 in an attempt to make the Republicans look bad. If he had not signed it into law, John MaCain would have lost by a larger margin than he did.
The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 by San Fran Nan Pelosi and Ditry Haiy Reid. It would have passed without one single Repulican vote.
In the House 221 Dems voted for it and only 3 voted against it and it would have taken only 218 votes to pass it. In the Senate the vote was similar. Sure a token number of Republicans voted for it but it was a Democrat bill passed by the Democrats and if Bush had not signed it, the defeat in the election would have been worse.

From Wiki:
House of Representative
Main article: Massachusetts House of Representatives
Each Representative represents about 40,000 residents. Representative districts are named for the primary county in which they are located, and tend to stay within one county, although some districts contain portions of adjacent counties. The current composition of the House is 128 Democrats and 32 Republicans.
Senate

There are 40 senatorial districts in Massachusetts, named for the counties in which they are located. The current composition of the Senate is 36 Democrats, 4 Republicans.
Are you stuck on stupid?

A corporate Democrat is one and the same as a corporate Republican.

Single Payer is Medicare for all Americans and Wall Street in collusion with Washington DC KILLED IT.

Obamacare is Romneycare which was Bob Dole and Newtcare back in the 1990s.

Same template used by Bush/Cheney allowing BIG PHARMA and the BIG HMOs to write the bills.

Obama does a lot of winkin' and noddin' to get his way. That way no one can point a finger at him. It is like when he took the USS Enterprise out of service two years early.
NORFOLK, Va.(AP)— The world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier was retired from active service on Saturday, temporarily reducing the number of carriers in the U.S. fleet to 10 until 2015.

The USS Enterprise ended its notable 51-year career during a ceremony at its home port at Naval Station Norfolk, where thousands of former crew members, ship builders and their families lined a pier to bid farewell to one of the most decorated ships in the Navy

t was only designed to last 25 years, but underwent a series of upgrades to extend its life, making it the oldest active combat vessel in the fleet

maybe the fact that it was 51 years old and was designed to last only 25 years had something to do with its retirement

knowing that the price of energy is only going to go up and that eventually we will have to reduce our carbon foot print, investing in other alternative energy sources is a pretty wise move.

did you know that the military is looking into the effects of global warming and what those effects will have on global security-and possible responses

you will have to fill me in on the wild life study so I can look it up

FDR put MacArthur out to pasture because he was right of center and if it were not for WWII he and Patton and LaMay would have disappeared.
Dude seriously, read some history before you post.

MacArthur was in the Philippines because he loved it there. He was put in command of the Pacific theater along with Nimitz by FDR.

MacArthur was fired by Truman, because of insubordination during the Korean war. There were plenty of signs that the Chinese were going to attack if we got to close to the North Korean/Chinese border, but he chose to ignore them. His ego got to big and he needed to be knocked down. you don't dis the CinC and not get fired.

Again as for LeMay his career continued, and had that idiot had his way during the Cuban missile crisis, we and millions of others wouldn't be here today. He wanted to attack Cuba, which had intermediate range ICBM's that were operational and capable of hitting every city in CONUS. Had we invaded, Fidel surely would have used tactical nukes on the invasion force, thus escalating it to a nuclear war

But it is the right of center generals who make the best combat commanders. One of the reasons why Republican presidents put lefty generals as the Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff which is a dead end job! And that is why Colon Powell was stuck in D.C. while Schwarzkopf was the field commander in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. If Powell was the combat commander, we would have had thousands of Americans killed in that war.
Just like LBJ is responsible for about half of the deaths of OUR people in Vietnam!
again with the lack of historical knowledge.

Colin Powell was Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff during the George H.W. Bush administration, which means a Republican put him there. Powell did have a lot of influence on that war. Go read The Commanders by Bob Woodward. Its above a 5th grade reading level, but don't get discourage you should be able to read it in time

and when did Iraq attack us again??? well except for the USS Stark during the Reagan administration.

and what about Benghazi?? first we have to identify who was responsible, we are pretty sure it wasn't the Libyan gov't. so who would you have us attack?

I'm guessing Hezbollah was pretty emboldened when Reagan let the bombing of the Marine Barracks and embassy go unanswered. In fact they were so emboldened, Reagan went into business with them. They would kidnapped an American in Lebanon, we would sell arms and munitions to Iran they would release their captive. then repeat cycle.

Yemen Signs $ 1.2 Billion Weapons Deal;
Offer Privileges to Russian Navy Fighting Pirates
10, April, 2010 / http://tinyurl.com/mp9q6wg
In his 4th visit to Russia, President Ali Abdullah Saleh showedinterest in more intensive trade, military and economic cooperation between Yemen and Russia, especially in the fields of oil, gas and military armament.
President Saleh also discussed the possibility for canceling Yemen’s debts it owes to Russia, mounting to $6.7 billion, in return for granting Russian companies especially those specialized in construction, oil and gas production privileges to work in Yemen.
Media sources revealed that Saleh has a package of grand civil projects where Russian companies can take part in. He also seeks to sign larger deals of weapons and hardware maintenance with Russia.
According to experts, the deals included paying for an undefined number of Russian fighters MiG-29 as well as other military hardware and spare parts for the weapons imported from Russia in the past.

I agree with one little tweak.

The HMOs/Pharma wrote the legislation which was signed into law by Obama.

Billy Tauzin was Bush/Cheney main man in the House.

I want to just talk about some of the names, as they’ve released this, naming some of the healthcare executives who have made multiple trips to the Obama White House.
Richard Umbdenstock, the president of the American Hospital Association, has visited the White House eight times since Obama took office, beginning on February 3rd, two weeks after Obama’s inauguration.
Former Congressman Billy Tauzin has visited five times, now head of the drug industry lobby, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, known as PhRMA.
Dr. James Rohack, president-elect of the American Medical Association, has visited four times, as has Karen Ignagni, president and CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans, an industry trade group.
Other healthcare executives who have made multiple visits to the Obama White House include Jeffrey Kindler, CEO of drugmaker Pfizer; Stephen Hemsley, chief executive of UnitedHealth Group; George Halvorson, head of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan; Richard Clark, CEO of the Merck pharmaceutical company; Jay Gellert, CEO of Health Net; and Rick Smith, senior vice president of PhRMA, which Billy Tauzin heads.
