U.S. BATTLESHIP POUNDS HILLS HELD BY SYRIANS IN LEBANON; BRITAIN; PULLING OUT TROOPS
THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN/The New York Times, February 9, 1984

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Feb. 8 - The United States battleship New Jersey bombarded Druse and Syrian gun batteries in Lebanon for more than nine hours today in the heaviest and most sustained American military action since the marines arrived here 16 months ago.

The gunfire was directed at targets ''in Syrian-controlled Lebanon which have been firing on the city of Beirut,'' a Marine spokesman, Maj. Dennis Brooks, said. The shells fired into the capital had landed in Christian-dominated East Beirut, several miles from the Marine compound at Beirut International Airport.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:USS_New_Jer...
In Washington, the Pentagon said the destroyer Caron joined in the bombardment, firing more than 300 five-inch shells. It said the New Jersey fired more than 250 16-inch shells.

•Elliott Abrams - currently deputy assistant to President Bush and deputy national security advisor for global democracy strategy, Abrams was one of the Reagan administration's most controversial figures as the senior State Department official for Latin America in the mid-1980s. He entered into a plea bargain in federal court after being indicted for providing false testimony about his fund-raising activities on behalf of the Contras, although he later accused the independent counsel's office of forcing him to accept guilt on two counts. President George H. W. Bush later pardoned him.
•David Addington - now Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, and by numerous press accounts a stanch advocate of expanded presidential power, Addington was a congressional staffer during the joint select committee hearings in 1986 who worked closely with Cheney.
•John Bolton - the controversial U.N. ambassador whose recess appointment by President Bush is now in jeopardy was a senior Justice Department official who participated in meetings with Attorney General Edwin Meese on how to handle the burgeoning Iran-Contra political and legal scandal in late November 1986. There is little indication of his precise role at the time.
•Richard Cheney - now the vice president, he played a prominent part as a member of the joint congressional Iran-Contra inquiry of 1986, taking the position that Congress deserved major blame for asserting itself unjustifiably onto presidential turf. He later pointed to the committees' Minority Report as an important statement on the proper roles of the Executive and Legislative branches of government.
Robert M. Gates - President Bush's nominee to succeed Donald Rumsfeld, Gates nearly saw his career go up in flames over charges that he knew more about Iran-Contra while it was underway than he admitted once the scandal broke. He was forced to give up his bid to head the CIA in early 1987 because of suspicions about his role but managed to attain the position when he was re-nominated in 1991.
Oliver L. North - now a radio talk show host and columnist, he was at the center of the Iran-Contra spotlight as the point man for both covert activities. A Marine serving on the NSC staff, he steadfastly maintained that he received high-level approval for everything he did, and that "the diversion was a diversion." He was found guilty on three counts at a criminal trial but had those verdicts overturned on the grounds that his protected congressional testimony might have influenced his trial. He ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate from Virginia in 1996
John Poindexter - who found a niche deep in the U.S. government's post-9/11 security bureaucracy as head of the Pentagon's Total Information Awareness program (formally disbanded by Congress in 2003), was Oliver North's superior during the Iran-Contra period and personally approved or directed many of his activities. His assertion that he never told President Reagan about the diversion of Iranian funds to the Contras ensured Reagan would not face impeachment.

And you proved my point that Reagan did knot no about Iran-Contra until after the fact. And unlike Nixon, he did not try and cover it up.
Oh, what happened to Adm. John Poindexter?
From Wiki:
Iran–Contra affair

Poindexter was convicted on April 7, 1990, of five counts of lying to Congress and obstructing the Congressional investigation into the Reagan Administration's covert arms sales to Iran and the diversion of proceeds to insurgents fighting the Marxist Government in Nicaragua, later known as the Iran–Contra affair. The convictions were reversed in 1991 on appeal.
Now, do you think the same thing maybe happening within the Obama Administration? And what is Obama doing about it? The same thing Richard Nixon did?!?
Ya know, may people think they are sooo smart, that they can fool 100% of the people 100% of the time. The only problem, no one is that smart and that includes Obama!!!

He was indited by the House of Reps. in the Bill of Impeachment. Just because the Democrats refused to convict him does not mean he did not do any of those crimes.
Next, Bill Clinton did sign a Consent Decree so he would not be indicted in the "Ken Starr" investigations. Now, can you show us another CRIMINAL case where someone sign a "consent decree"?
Happens all the time in civil lawsuits but I have never heard of it in a criminal case.

Business as usual
Bush's strong support of the Dubai ports deal isn't so surprising in light of his family's many financial ties to Arab sheikdoms.

/ Feb. 24, 2006 http://tinyurl.com/h9yah

The president's shift in tone is as remarkable as his threat to use his first veto in five years to protect the Dubai deal in the face of bipartisan congressional opposition.

But Bush's passionate defense of the United Arab Emirates and the ports deal inevitably raises questions -- not only about the due diligence of his administration in this instance but about his and his family's long-standing ties to the Persian Gulf sheikdoms, and specifically to the UAE's rulers. His insinuation that skepticism is equivalent to bigotry cannot deflect such concerns, which first arose in the months after the 9/11 attacks.

By now, everyone paying attention to the furor over the Dubai ports deal should be aware of the UAE's mixed record with regard to terror and global security. The Emirates' ruling families formerly maintained close relationships with the Taliban and Osama bin Laden, whose hunting camps in Afghanistan they frequented; two of the 20 hijackers in the 9/11 plot were UAE nationals who used safe houses and banks in Dubai; and the A.Q. Khan nuclear smuggling network also used facilities there to mask its operations. Since 9/11, however, the Emirates have cooperated with U.S. operations against al-Qaida, and their state-owned corporations have eagerly participated in American attempts to improve transportation security.

What seems worrisome even to some who might ultimately accept the Dubai ports deal is the "casual attitude" of the Bush administration in vetting the company, as Sen. Carl Levin put it. Considering the history of Bush entanglement with the oil despots of the Gulf, that lax indulgence was bad policy and worse politics.

You do know the Obama administration has signed "no bid" contracts with Halliburton, Don't you?!?
Obama’s mounting hypocrisy
The only thing that has changed in Washington is the price tag
By Frank Perley-The Washington Times Thursday, May 13, 2010

That was then; this is now. Last week, the Army revealed that KBR, a former subsidiary of Halliburton, was awarded a no-bid contract worth as much as $568 million through next year. This deal was announced only hours after the Obama Justice Department informed the public that it was joining a suit filed by whistleblowers who allege KBR used kickbacks to get foreign contracts.

Ah, Bill Clinton was under a CRIMINAL investigation. He committed perjury in a federal grand jury, perjury in a federal court, obstructed justice, suborned a false affidavit, conspired to suborn a false affidavit, submitted TWO lase affidavits to a federal court.
Now, what CRIMES did Ronald Reagan commit? Remember, Clinton was impeached but was not convicted because not one Democrat would vote Yea but was Reagan impeached?!?
And you can not prove Bush or Cheney lied about WMD in Iraq. To tell a lie, you must know it to be untrue. If Bush and Cheney lied about Iraq's WMD, so did Bill and Hillary Clinton, Owl Gore, John F-up Kerry, Teddy "The Blimp" Kennedy, and numerous other Democrats!!!
And you are totally clueless what a Neo Con is. Neo Cons are the Jews who voted for Reagan and Bush!!!

Does Obama know what the IRS, FBI, NSA, etc. are doing? The funding for the new NSA facility near Salt Lake City was approved by Speaker San Fran Nan Pelosi and Dirty Hairy Reed. Why did they approve a $2 Billion data center for the NSA which is suppose to only gather information from OUTSIDE the United States!!!
Utah Data Center
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Utah Data Center, also known as the Intelligence Community Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative Data Center,[1] is a data storage facility for the United States Intelligence Community that is designed to store extremely large amounts of data. Its purpose is to support the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative (CNCI), though its precise mission is classified.[2] The National Security Agency (NSA), which will lead operations at the facility, is the executive agent for the Director of National Intelligence.[3] It is located at Camp Williams, near Bluffdale, Utah, between Utah Lake and Great Salt Lake, on the boundary line between Salt Lake County and Utah County to the south.
