Now here is typical Libtardian Science. He talks about the "water table" which is hundreds of feet underground and what does he do, he dumps tar into a glass of water!!!
First of all, of all petroleum products, heavy tar is the LEAST likely to soak into the soil and the least endanger of getting down to the water table.
Let's talk about the typical diesel oil spill onto soil. They scoop out the soil, put it into a cement kiln and burn up the diesel oil and the soil comes out clean on the other end of the pipe.
With tar, it is all on the very top layer of soil and is even easier to clean up.

There are basically three ways to move oil. I will exclude by water as it does not apply here. But that leaves us is by tanker truck, tanker trains and then by pipeline.
The safest and cheapest way is by pipeline by far. By rail it is more expensive and has higher safety risks. Now, you can replace 100 rail cars with about 300 tanker trucks which will be ten times more expensive and the safety risks are about ten times higher.
Soooo, if you want to move petroleum, what is the safest and cheapest way? PIPELINE!!!

The same goes for moving people. If you want to fly, let's say, between NYC and LA, the safest way is to fly commercially in a big jet. It will be about fifty times safer than driving a private car the same distance.
Now, you could fly in a private single engine airplane but that would be four times more dangerous than driving and about 200 more dangerous than flying in a commercial jet.
Now, if you want to add rail and commercial buses, they would both be safer than driving in a small car but not as safe as flying in a commercial jet.
Now, I am a retired military and commercial pilot and am safer than the average private pilot but I am probably no safer than driving in a small car.

The bottom line is your Doctor Christy is only in the 1% percentile of non-believers.

The other 99% think differently.

Hypothetically if you were sick and 99 Doctors said to do this and only one said to do that, would it make sense to pick the advice of ONE over the other 99?

I THINK NOT!

Examining Dr. John Christy's Global Warming Skepticism

12 June 2011 / http://tinyurl.com/mcztwfx

By far the three most prominent and most frequently referenced climate scientists who are "skeptical" of the dangers of human-caused global warming are Dr. Richard Lindzen of MIT, and Drs. Roy Spencer and John Christy of the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH). These are not your typical unqualified "skeptics", like so many others (i.e. computer programmers, politicians, and former political consultants). No, these are genuine climate scientists who receive government research grants, publish peer-reviewed studies, and have not received any funding from fossil fuel companies in recent years. Thus their arguments are well worth examining. Is there scientific validity to their skepticism?

This question is of particular importance since they have recently received so much media attention. Dr. John Christy, for example, has recently testified before U.S. Congress, appeared on an Australian radio talk show, and on a Canadian radio show. In these appearances, he advised his audiences that there is a great deal of uncertainty regarding man-made global warming, and that we need not take significant steps to reduce human greenhouse gas emissions. This advice directly contradicts the findings of the vast majority of Dr. Christy's peers, most recently by the Australian Climate Commission, which concluded that we know beyond a reasonable doubt that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming, and it is critical that we immediately implement policies to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions.

Hey, did you hear about when G.W. went to New Orleans to check out the disaster relief for Hurricane Katrina? Well he was down in the old French Quarter and he was getting a little hungry and he saw this woman put out an "Open" sign in front of this French restaurant so across the street he went with his entourage.
He went in and was immediately seated and the waitress asked him what he wanted and G.W. said, "Ah, could you bring me a coffee and a quickie, please"? And the waitress turned white saying, "How dare you and I thought you would be nicer than Clinton". With that she started to cry and she ran back into the kitchen.
A Secret Service Agent walk over to Pres. Bush and said, "Excuse me Mr. President but I think it is pronounce 'quiche'"!
Now Liberals seem to think that the joke is about G.W. not being able to pronounce some words correctly whereas most Conservatives think the joke is really about Bill Clinton's loose zipper.

I think I read this joke in Readers Digest some ten-twelve years ago so I do not claim credit and do not know who should get the credit so Jacques can stuff it if he wants a link.

The tone is familiar. Is it Clinton’s Anti-Terrorism Act of 1996?

Is it the Bush Patriot Act of 2001?

No. It is from Hitler’s 1933 speech calling for an Enabling Act for the protection of the People and the State after the catastrophic Reichstag fire that the Nazis had secretly lit.

Bush challenges hundreds of laws / President cites powers of his office
http://tinyurl.com/ogv5u / April 30, 2006
WASHINGTON -- President Bush has quietly claimed the authority to disobey more than 750 laws enacted since he took office, asserting that he has the power to set aside any statute passed by Congress when it conflicts with his interpretation of the Constitution.

Among the laws Bush said he can ignore are military rules and regulations, affirmative-action provisions, requirements that Congress be told about immigration services problems,''whistle-blower " protections for nuclear regulatory officials, and safeguards against political interference in federally funded research.

Actually he is in the majority that never believed in manmade Global Warming and believes we are now in a cooling cycle. You see, only 5% of all weather scientists ever believed in manmade Global Warming but the were supported by the loony-left and got all the press coverage while the LSM ignored the others.
