Robert Gates a Republican?<quoted text>
A small point. At the time Panetta was head of the CIA. The secretary of defense was Robert Gates, a Republican who had been originally appointed by George W. Bush. Gates has said that he recommended AGAINST the attack, worrying that it was putting the Navy Seals' lives at risk without solid evidence that Osama was really in the house. Of course, it turned out that Osama really was in the house---but it was by no means certain. So Obama took a risk, a calculated risk. It turned out that he was right, but no one could be certain. So what was the reason for the delay in the attack? Obviously to get better evidence that Osama really was in that house.
From Wiki: Gates is not registered with any political party, but considers himself Republican. "Gates: Military looks to accelerate Iraq pullout". Associated Press (Associated Press). December 1, 2008. Retrieved May 5, 2009.
Next, Gates is very liberal on many issues in particularly gay issues. Since leaving public office he was become Chancellor of the very Liberal William and Mary and joined the board of directors of the gay friendly Starbucks.
You Libtards assume that because someone claims to be a Republican, he is a Conservative. G.W. Bush is a Country Club RINO.
