Just like FDR turned a run-of-the-mill depression into the Great Depression, Obama has turned a run-of-the-mill into the Great Recession.
FDR did not try and fix the economy, he expanded his socialists agenda. The same goes for Obama. What was the first thing he did when he got into office? Obama Care! And if anything, Obama Care suppressed the economic recovery.
Eye nose, eye nose, it does not matta to yo so long as you get your free Obama phone, free Obama Care, free Obama money, etc.
Sure, the Obama Care mandate, which does not take effect until 2014, suppressed the economic recovery over the last four years.

No, you grow a brain. Since Obama Care became law my Tricare co-pay for prescription drugs went from $7 to $12 to $17 per prescription and one of my meds I have to see my doctor again.
Yes, In January I saw my doctor and he renewed my prescriptions but as of February 1, I have to go back to him and get him to call Tricare to justify the prescription!
Obama Care is incremental. Right now your health care plan MUST include female reproductive care too!!! The last I checked, I'm a guy!

Thank you for admitting that you cannot defend your ill-conceived comparison. If you can recall, you were comparing the current "correction" to "average" corrections. Unfortunately, Rouge's literacy is below average, and he tries to cover his stupidity with more prophesy.
Pathetic.
<quoted text>
It was average, until Obama took office. And just like FDR if number one priority (he has a lot of number one priorities) was to push his socialistic agenda. Which makes it more expensive to do business which drives jobs overseas.
In January 2009 the Labor Participation Rate was 65.7% and last month it was 63.6%.....
http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS11300000
.... mena that about 5.25 million more Americans (over the age of 16) are unemployed than when Obama entered office.
So the actual unemployment rate is about 14.2% or about 36.17 million Americans who are unemployed or under-employed

Meanwhile the vast majority of Canadians are satisfied with health care in Canada, unlike the US.

Republicans are the 'party of Elephants'
Dems are the party of donkeys(jackasses)

;~)

The Question:
What is the origin of the donkey and elephant as the symbols of the Democratic and Republican parties in America?

The Donkey— Presidential candidate Andrew Jackson was the first Democrat ever to be associated with the >>> donkey <<< symbol.

The Elephant— Political cartoonist Thomas Nast was also responsible for the Republican Party >>> elephant.<<<

I don't know if Jacques is gay or not (not that it matters) but at least one can have an intelligent conversation with him.... you on the other hand.... not so much. But, it certainly is interesting that when you have nothing intelligent to say.... you say nothing intelligent. Common metal defect amongst teabaggers... n'est pas?
I'm not gay, but I do keep telling these birfoon birther tea partyers that if I were, I would just say so, as it's no big deal. Denyers are the ones who keep bringing up gayness and are too insecure to admit what they really are. Closet's getting awfully crowded here.

How's it going in Hamilton? There are some real weirdos here, but also some real neat and intelligent ones. You're new, but you'll soon be able to distinguish between the cereal and the chaff.

LRS, come out, as somehow, you cannot hide your crassness and vulgarity.

Along our two borders, the use of loaned or "leased" Canadian health cards is well-known and documented. They did a documentary just the other day about it, interviewed a lot of Americans who do cross the border with their "leased" or "borrowed" health cards. Also, just a an example, many come over for annual physicals. The cost of an annual physical in Canada, if privately paid, is anywhere from $100 to $150 max. How much in the States? One visit here is less than a monthly insurance coverage premium.

But hey, I'm just saying this because I've been challenged. I won't go around boasting about the so-called superiority of our system, as there are so many imponderables. Americans do pay lower taxes, much lower, prices are generally 20 to 50% cheaper in the USA than here - for example, a Honda Civic that can be had for $17,000 in the U.S.will cost you $22 to 23,000 here. And know what, that Civic is built in Alliston, Ontario. Yet you sell it for thousands less. So basta with the comparisons, we are both 1st class countries with our differences. I happen to like mine better, as I hope Americans like theirs better. Oh, if I had the means, I'd settle in Tuscany or Brussels or La Provence. I love Canada but I like those places better. I can say that and still be a loyal Canadian.

This is pretty harsh sounding, but probably nearer to the truth than what we are hearing on our national news.

This young man is articulate and has a flare for colorful language, and descriptive prose....Scorpions, Chiggers & Sand Fleas/great letter, must read!

From a Recon Marine in Afghanistan:
From the Sand Pit. It's freezing here. I'm sitting on hard cold dirt between rocks and shrubs at the base of the Hindu Kush Mountains , along the Dar'yoi Pomir River, watching a hole that leads to a tunnel that leads to a cave. Stake out, my friend, and no pizza delivery for thousands of miles. I also glance at the area around my ass every ten to fifteen seconds to avoid another scorpion sting. I've actually given up battling the chiggers and sand fleas, but the scorpions give a jolt like a cattle prod. Hurts like a bastard. The antidote tastes like transmission fluid, but God bless the Marine Corps for the five vials of it in my pack.

The one truth the Taliban cannot escape is that, believe it or not, they are human beings, which means they have to eat food and drink water. That requires couriers and that's where an old bounty hunter like me comes in handy. I track the couriers, locate the tunnel entrances and storage facilities, type the info into the handheld, shoot the coordinates up to the satellite link that tells the air commanders where to drop the hardware. We bash some heads for a while, then I track and record the new movement.

It's all about intelligence. We haven't even brought in the snipers yet. These scurrying rats have no idea what they're in for. We are but days away from cutting off supply lines and allowing the eradication to begin. But you know me, I'm a romantic. I've said it before and I'll say it again: This country blows, man. It's not even a country. There are no roads, there's no infrastructure, there's no government. This is an inhospitable, rock pit shit hole ruled by eleventh century warring tribes. There are no jobs here like we know jobs.

Afghanistan offers two ways for a man to support his family: join the opium trade or join the army. That's it. Those are your options. Oh, I forgot, you can also live in a refugee camp and eat plum-sweetened, crushed beetle paste and squirt mud like a goose with stomach flu, if that's your idea of a party. But the smell alone of those 'tent cities of the walking dead' is enough to hurl you into the poppy fields to cheerfully scrape bulbs for eighteen hours a day. I've been living with these Tajiks and Uzbeks, and Turkmen and even a couple of Pushtuns, for over a month-and-a-half now, and this much I can say for sure: These guys, all of 'em, are Huns...actual, living Huns.. They LIVE to fight. It's what they do. It's ALL they do. They have no respect for anything, not for their families, nor for each other, nor for themselves. They claw at one another as a way of life. They play polo with dead calves and force their five-year-old sons into
human cockfights to defend the family honor. Huns, roaming packs of savage, heartless beasts who feed on each other's barbarism. Cavemen with AK-47's. Then again, maybe I'm just cranky. I'm freezing my ass off on this stupid hill because my lap warmer is running out of juice, and I can't recharge it until the sun comes up in a few hours. Oh yeah! You like to write letters, right? Do me a favor, Bizarre. Write a letter to CNN and tell Wolf and Anderson and that awful, sneering, pompous Aaron Brown to stop calling the Taliban 'smart.' They are not smart. I suggest CNN invest in a dictionary because the word they are looking for is 'cunning.' The Taliban are cunning, like jackals and hyenas and wolverines. They are sneaky and ruthless, and when confronted, cowardly. They are hateful, malevolent parasites who create nothing and destroy everything else. Smart. Pfft. Yeah, they're real smart.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Capricorn

Don't take any risks when handling your finances today, because there are strange things going on. Someone may not be as straightforward and honest as usual, or can't explain themselves properly, which leads to misunderstandings and false assumptions. If you're spending money, make sure you're charged the right price and given the correct change. And don't let your wallet or purse out of your sight, in case you mislay it or someone nabs it.
