All Patriotic civilians I know salute the American, people who love their country, under circumstance have I heard or saw someone refuse to salute the flag because they were civilians! King Obummer as POTUS should be ashamed if that is his excuse for not saluting the flag of his country! And even as a presidential candidate he should salute the flag, every child knows this and yet you purpose yet another pathetic excuse for Obummers hatred and distance of America, if Kenya is his "Home Country" he needs to go back there, and you can follow right along with him with your lips sealed tightly to his patootie! Poopoo platter this is an all time low for you! Do whatever you want Cmor! Who cares? The thread is certainly not surprised to learn that everyone you know is just as dumb a you. Section 594 of the National Defense Authorization Act, which was signed into law as Public Law 110-181 on Jan. 28, allows “VETERANS” out of uniform to salute the flag. Section 9 of Title 4, United States Code, was amended by striking “all persons present” and all that follows through the end of the section, and inserted the following:“All persons present in uniform should render the military salute. Members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present but not in uniform may render the military salute. ALL OTHER PERSONS PRESENT SHOULD FACE THE FLAG AND STAND AT ATTENTION WITH THEIR RIGHT HAND OVER THEIR HEART, OR IF APPLICABLE, REMOVE THEIR HEADDRESS WITH THEIR RIGHT HAND AND HOLD IT AT THE LEFT SHOULDER, THE HAND BEING OVER THE HEART. Citizens of other countries who are present should stand at attention. All such conduct toward the flag in a moving column should be rendered at the moment the flag passes.” http://www.dakotavoice.com/2008/07/code-chang...

I believe Bush did change the protocol for vets out of uniform but I suspect few know it. GHB may have started the saluting thing, though I'm not sure. I don't recall Reagan doing that. I know Clinton saluted (he was even criticized for saluting badly) but I also know there is no way he started it.

American Lady wrote: Jacques Ottawa wrote: <quoted text> Thanks for posting that, and from a Repub source, no less, Poppo. I've always maintained that the president, a civilian, and not in uniform, should NOT salute any member of the armed forces. I don't know of any nation where civilian heads of state salute the military. Who started that? The United States DID! That's part of what makes US "exceptional" ... WE are NOT LIKE other nations. That is the problem, 0 is trying to make us like others! The USofA is exceptional! <3 AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM There is a widely accepted argument, popular among Americans, that America is exceptional in the world of nations. I do not mean that Americans have a particular knack at entrepreneurship, or something similar. Many nations have certain specialties they are good at. This makes them normal, not exceptional. But on the question of gun ownership, America really is exceptional. On this issue, something in the range of half of all Americans are really serious about the ownership of weapons. This is ingrained in our culture, although not in the culture of the state of New York and other enclaves of liberalism. This commitment to gun ownership is not necessarily a sign of commitment to the United States Constitution. But it is a commitment to the right of Americans to own symbols of American resistance against tyranny, a tradition which goes back to the American Revolution, and certainly goes back to the Civil War in the American South. http://lewrockwell.com/north/north1256.html Your trash website lewrockwell.com states : "But on the question of gun ownership, America really is exceptional." And you agree, therefore, that the U.S. is pretty much as good as some countries, but is exceptional in gun ownership. And you are proud of this? More shootings and deaths yessterday by gun owners. 45 killed by guns in Chicago so far this year. Why not call it Tombstone or OK Corral while you're at it? Gun-crazy nuts hecklers taunting a grieving father. Exceptional you say? Gun and assault-weapon-free Chicago doesn't work? Of course not, all its surroundings are gun havens, they just bring 'em in.

Jacquie Ottatwit wrote: <quoted text> Again empty headed Libtard: McRae ask if she was present when he was born in Kenya, not Hawaii, and she then answers YES SHE WAS And we all know she was not present when he was born in Hawaii! So saying she was there when he was born only means one thing, KING OBUMMER WAS BORN IN KENYA AND GRANDMA WITNESSED IT! You’re a foolish man Cmor. It’s anyone guess whether the translator heard or translated the Kenya part or even if he was assuming McRae meant to say “was she present (in Kenya) when Obama was born” What was crystal clear is that “everyone” on the other end of McRae’s line repeatedly said Obama was born in Hawaii. Try translating these two different meanings in Swahili and the error in your “logic”(and I seriously question you can in fact reason) becomes readily apparent. “Was she present when he was born in Kenya?” “Was she present in Kenya when he was born?” Now try to focus as the translator sheds a little light on what he says is your “obvious” confusion. No, no! The, the woman was not present. She was uh not, a what — you see, she was here in Kenya, and Obama was born in America. That is, that’s obvious

But notice all but the last shot was fired from a rifle with a wood stock and the last one had a black synthetic stock. Also the article claims she was shooting a "varmint" rifle when I see no evidence it was small caliber. The second rifle had a long action and had "belted" cartridges in the stock indicating it was something like 7mm Remington Magnum or a 300 Winchester Magnum which would kick more than, let's say, a Winchester 308 (7.62 NATO). Yes, the father did chamber her rounds for her and I have no idea why, but she did fire all the shots to include the one that finally brought down the elk. No, the elk was not close. They were using binoculars!!! Yes, someone should have checked zero on all the rifles after they arrived at the camp. Oh, I did buy a Marlin lever action in 45-70 Gov. while planning my fishing trip to Alaska last year. I had no intention to hunt but you need a heavy caliber weapon if a Alaskan Browny wants your fish or you!!! I have never encountered a grisly bear but the Alaskan Brownies are said to be larger than the ones in the 48-states.

Though it should show a man - women haven't shot many people at schools, work places or theatres lately. Or ever.

I suppose the already insured’s main concern is that the uninsured get their own insurance and stop fleecing off the rest of us. It was my understanding that personal responsibility was a conservative thing. At least that’s what Romney said when he introduced Romneycare in his own state. Then too, with Obamacare being a Heritage Foundation brainchild one has to marvel at the hypocrisy and venom coming from the right especially in light of the fact it was the Republicans very own alternative proposal to President Clinton’s health care plan. Calling you guy’s weasels would undoubtedly disrespect the weasel but yes, I much prefer affordable health care for the masses than giving Romney a 20 percent tax cut.
