Another law banning guns? Rouge in his fantasy world believes guns are banned. My brother owns over twenty guns. Apparently someone forgot to tell him that guns were banned.
And besides all the traffic laws we have, people still violate traffic laws and cause fatal accidents. So maybe we should get rid of traffic laws?
People break laws every day. According to Rouge logic, we should not have any more laws.
A ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines would not prevent a homeowner from defending his property. Also it is simple mathematics. The more guns that are sold legally, the more that will end up in criminal hands. Guns are sold legally, then they are stolen and others resold, often illegally. And that does affect the law abiding citizen.
What's not needed is another toothless law. What is needed is a comprehensive policy backed up by well crafted laws and regulations.
And to those people who preach that it all about values, if all children were instilled with good values, we wouldn't have crime and we wouldn't need guns in our homes. That argument cuts both ways. Duh!
"Above all, the prophets remind us of the moral state of a people: Few are guilty, but all are responsible. If we admit that the individual is in some measure conditioned or affected by the spirit of society, an individual's crime discloses society's corruption. In a community not indifferent to suffering, uncompromisingly impatient with cruelty and falsehood, continually concerned for God and every man, crime would be infrequent rather than common."
-Rabbi Abraham Heschel
Where did he say we should abolish gun laws? How about just enforce current gun laws?
I think it is funny when an atheist quotes religious people. Maybe you chose Rabbi Heschel because he was a .... socialist!!!

I like him . He doesn't like Canada all that much, but being unbiased, I still like him. He's somehow wary of us, could be clueless Politano's influence. GWB had better relations with us.
Obama was handed an impossible job in 2009, the financial disaster trench that GWB dug was so deep, it has taken and will continue to take a Caterpillar-size economic machine to set it right. His disastrous handling of the economy has touched and affected the whole world. Obama is slowly correcting it, plenty of bandaids, yes, as the bleeding's gotta stop before permanent repairs are effected. He has reduced expenses, increased revenue, reduced unemployment, has presided over rising building starts and increased values of properites, has withdrawn from Iraq and soon from the GWB quagmire in Afghanistan. He's created a decent but not complete universal health care plan which would be so much better if not for Republican oppositon. Obama's main mistake has been to become president at an impossible time, a mess that Jesus Christ himself would have found difficult to extricate himself from.
He has erred. That solar plant in CA. A mistake, no corruption, a mistake, but that is no consolation. Bombing of Libya. Huge mistake, and we idiotically followed as did France, GB and Italy. He should not have stonewalled on Benghazi (a famous Republican tactic), the facts always trump uncertainty. Nobody's perfect.
Unbiased? ROTFLMSAO! No corruption? And you know this how? That's right, you don't! Your empty head is outdone only by your empty soul. What a pathetic existence you lead. goofball LMAO!!!

Jacques, How many times have YOU accused others of being anti-Americans? After the election of 1980, Jimmy Carter and Teddy Kennedy went to the Soviet Union to consult with them on how to retake the AMERICAN White House. Do you consider that to be anti-American?
How about John Kerry travelling to Paris during the Vietnam War and meeting in private with the North Vietnamese? How about Jane Honda travelling toe North Vietnam and doing a photo op while sitting on an anti-aircraft gun which was used to shoot down American planes? It seems you have an odd idea of who is, and is not, anti-American!!!
is it a wonder you just point the dems.....name some rethugs who are anti-american. the father&son rands, that just for starters. plenty more in the wood pile.

I've never accused anyone of being anti-American. But I have said that American Lady is anti and un-American, what with her quoting Pravda, yes, Pravda, as an authority on the conduct of the administration of the United States. You find that to be patriotic? And none of that crap about killing the messenger. Hey, the messenger is Pravda for heaven's sake and she worships it.

Also, saying one person is anti-American because she clearly is , yes, a person, is not the same as accusing the president of the United States of being anti-American. What's the matter with you? Do tell us how he is anti-American.

Carter and Teddy Kennedy went to the Soviet Union to consult with the Russians on how to retake the AMERICAN White House? Are you daf? Totally daf? I don't recall that visit but it probably happened. It's the purpose of the visit as you state it that is phantasmagoric. At the heigtht of the cold war, with the USSR having just invaded Afghanistan, Carter went to Moscow to get the White House back? Now, Rogue, if you cannot prove this with impeccable sources, say so now and apologize.

As to Jane Fonda, she had every right to protest the war and she was right doing it, as it was wrong and cost 55,000 U.S.lives for nothihg. Having said that, AND READ CAREFULLY, she had no business in Hanoi comforting the enemny. She should have been arrested upon her return to the U.S. and put on trial. I still like her, though, fabulous actress. But the way she went about it was wrong.

Kerry's meeting with Vietnamese officials was okay and correct, as were Kissinger's meetings with LeDucTho. What is even more incredible, and you failed to mention it, is that those two expletive deleted s.o.b's got the Nobel Prize! Wow. How the hell do you stop a war short of victory , which was impossible, if you don't negotiate? Evn God negotiated with the Devil, no? Think of His wager with Job, think of Jesus in the desert.

Your view of politics, the background of it, the history, comtemporary or otherwise, is based on hate and prejudice. Not good. There are so many books you should read on the subject, books of all persuasions in order to arrive at a sound unbiased judgement. Try it. Hmmm, too late.

The majority of white and blue-collar employees have their taxes deducted from their cheques. Self-employed don't, okay. Lt them miss just one monthly remittance, though! All sales taxes are automatically added to bills. Tell us, explain, how you would propose to get around automatic payroll tax deductions?

Also, tell the gallery why Obama is not constitutionally kosher.

Caught in the act of stupidity, Rouge now attempts to substitute one stupidity for another as he entirely missed the point.

Why don't we just enforce toothless ill-conceived laws created in a good public policy vacuum?

Surely you jest.

<><><>< ><><>

Either you agree or disagree with what Rabbi Heschel said. If you disagree, you are free explain your departure from his reasoning. Calling him a socialist is simply ad hominem claptrap that has nothing to do with the rightness or wrongness of the quote.

Capisce?

BTW, what atheist who quoted Rabbi Heschel are you referring to? Or RU ASSuming again?
