That is why the conservatives believed that the government should be used as a instrument to line the pockets of the rich and powerful.
"It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their own selfish purposes."
Andrew Jackson
Maybe that was a hundred years ago and there seems to be a balance. With to much SOCIALISM the economy will suppress and all will suffer. We passed over that edge when G.W. Bush took over and with the help of Speaker Dennis Hastert. The U.S. is now like a ship with a leak and the water is coming in faster than it is pumped out and just like Greece, Italy, Spain, etc. our economy is doomed to fail and everyone, except for the politicos, will be poor. The One Percenters will have move to more friendly countries.
Have you figured out why the One Percenters from Greece, Italy and Spain are moving to other countries?

Swiss set up popular vote to end tax breaks that draw wealthy foreigners
By The Associated Press | Associated Press –

GENEVA - Swiss socialists and labour unions have succeeded in putting the country's tax breaks for foreign millionaires up to a popular vote.
The tax breaks introduced 150 years ago have helped attract foreigners like Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad, Formula One champion Michael Schumacher and pop stars Tina Turner, Phil Collins and Shania Twain.
The government said Thursday a petition on the issue drew 103,353 signatures, enough to call for parliamentary debate and national referendum within several years.
Already, four of the nation's 26 cantons, or states, have decided to scrap the breaks that allow the rich to pay a flat fee and avoid income tax.
That boosts local economies and banks, but creates resentment among ordinary people who pay more tax than rich celebrities.
More than 5,000 foreigners use the tax breaks.

There you go. Obama's had a successful trip to the far east. He indirectly, through his sec of state, extracted a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, pardoned a turkey (yes, LRS, a turkey. See? Even you can harbour hope) will obviously have an accord with congress on the fiscal cliff as the repub congress KNOWS Obama speaks for the people. His election is secured (easily btw) and all's looking much better. Except for the odd nutball birther and the Donald, the BC thing is shelved, even Oily's given up, damn empty chairs.
So now, clown boy has nothing negative to foist on poor hapless topixers. You've already told us about Obama's flirting all over South East Asia with the female PM and dissident and now MP Aung San Suu Kyi (hey, LRS eh boy, thought he was gay). Yup, it's with Rice now, as the slithering disgusting slug has nothing. Empty. So low, you pick on the first family, and on sexual themes as you are just bursting with sexual frustrations, how tough it must be, this monastic life, this forced chastity, hands your only true lovers, pretending that nurse Ratched, who goes along with the joke, is your beautiful nurse girl friend. Ha ha, this is even more prepostorous than calling Dale "Justice". What a corny dopey hopeless cartoon-like duo you two make, Justice ha ha Dale and LSR (Low sucking Repugnance)
Do you think Obama will pardon you two turkeys some day?
Let's see, last I heard there were about 100 congressmen opposing his nomination of Rice as SOS. Hmmm, that doesn't jive with what you say. That would be because you're talking out of both sides of your neck again. And really, spare us the boring, old, stale, worn-out second paragraph. I see you're making stuff up again too. I've said nothing about any PM. Just more "make believe" on your part. Sad, sad, sad!!!

100 Congressmen? The House of Representatives has 435 members so only 22% of House opposed Rice. Only 42% of the Republican Congressmen (100 out of 235) opposed Rice.

As such, 100 congressmen's opinon doesn't matter much. By the way, it is the senate that confirms the President's appointments not the house.

I don't blame them. The U.S. should have been following "strict" immigration laws many, many years ago. This would be a completely different Nation for the better. Shoot, I even remember when we had Presidents who actually upheld those laws! Then somebody came along and screwed it all up. What was that guy's name? That's right, no one really knew.

If you subtract the 60 million who are under 18 years old you have about 250 million who are of voting age and if Obama got 65 million votes, only 26% of those who are of voting age. The fact that only 50% of our population who are of voting age actually vote. Sad, very sad.
But I have one thing to say to those who could have voted but who decided not to, keep your mouths shut as by not voting who gave up your right to complain about what happens politically!

Antarctic Sea Ice Sets Another Record
9/19/2012

Editor’s note: An update from the author has been added to this article on September 20, 2012.

Antarctic sea ice set another record this past week, with the most amount of ice ever recorded on day 256 of the calendar year (September 12 of this leap year). Please, nobody tell the mainstream media or they might have to retract some stories and admit they are misrepresenting scientific data.

Not to worry about Switzerland, Rogue. It will pass the law and just as many legal and illegal rich people will keep depositing their money in their banks, no problem. As to those few 1% "patriots", if you'll excuse the expression, they will just move somewhre else but leave most of their cash in good ole reliable safe Switzerland. It's a country I know extremely well, and I know they'll be fine.
