Howdy, birfers, I guess you know by now how abysmally conservative media failed in the run up to the election.

According to them, Obama was near defeat, an historic failure, and everything was going to come up roses because the (biased liberal) polls were "skewed."

All laughably wrong.

What's going to happen is that the media is going to change over the next year to shun the real crazies like you birfoons. No more pandering to the most extreme elements of the right. It's done.

You're loft with a few options. You can adopt a modicum of moderation. Maybe take a closer look at comprehensive immigration reform, become real about fixing the financial problem, turn down the bellicosity and warmongering, etc.

Or you can continue on the current trajectory, which will see your declining relevance drop off precipitously in the coming year.

The choice, birfers, is to start being realistic or to continue with the constructed reality that saw humiliating defeat last night.

I have confidence that some of you will do as Fox News does, and make the adjustments necessary to remain viable and have an electable political party. Others will continue down the WND path to irrelevance.

This is just one way to look at it birfers. But whatever your point of view, it should be clear that the decline in relevance is the GOP's own doing. And to pander to the white-haired cooks is not going to work anymore.

Because less populous states should not have as much weight in electing the president.

The amount of votes is proportionate to the population.

The popular vote would be best.

This is one country, not a group of 13 former colonies. The reasons for the EC are no longer valid with respect to the election of the president.

The Benghazi Blackout: Right after the September 11 attack in Libya, the networks proclaimed that the events would bolster President Obama —“reminding voters of his power as commander-in-chief,” as NBC’s Peter Alexander stated on the September 14 edition of "Today." But as a cascade of leaked information erased the portrait of Obama as a heroic commander, the broadcast networks shunted the Benghazi story to the sidelines.
News broke online in late September, for example, that Team Obama knew within 24 hours that the attack was likely the result of terrorism. That starkly contradicted claims from White House press secretary Jay Carney, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, and President Obama himself that the attack was a “spontaneous” reaction to an anti-Muslim video posted on YouTube. Yet, ABC took nearly two days to bring this story to viewers, while CBS and NBC held off for three days.
This was, shamefully, the broadcast networks’ pattern in October: New developments exposing the administration’s failure to provide adequate security, or contradictions in their public statements, were either given stingy coverage or buried completely. The puzzle pieces revealed a disturbing failure of Obama’s national security apparatus, but the networks flitted in and out of the story, never giving it any traction.
Instead of an “October Surprise,” the networks engineered an “October Suppression”— keeping a lid on the boiling Benghazi story until Election Day. Who knows how voters might have reacted if the media had covered this story as tenaciously as they did Romney’s “47% gaffe”?

nailed it. it is hard to WIN an election when the media chooses sides and is 100% biased against the other candidate like just happened. This country is toast now. The media is corrupt. That means they will forever lie and honest reporting is gone. The country is going to hell, and it is far more troubling than anyone in here may know.

obama panders to gays, abortion, lies all the time, and is part of a huge coverup that is now in everything this country does. Lying is OK, coverups are OK, corruption is OK. It is sanctioned now, and for the last several years. Do whatever it takes to get what you want.

Before we had a wagon and most pulled it forward, and one or two were in it. Now it is more than half full, and less than half are pulling it forward. Makes it so hard they quit. Businesses are left to "solve" all the problems now. They are cutting and running to get out from under the coming train wreck. obama is the engineer of that train wreck.

Anybody that has a job ought to quit NOW!

Some of the most influential aides in the closed-door Senate Finance Committee negotiations over health care reform have ties to interests that would be directly affected by the legislation.
Before she was hired last year as senior counsel to Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.), Liz Fowler worked as a highly paid public policy adviser for WellPoint Inc., the nation’s largest publicly traded health benefits company.
Mark Hayes, health policy director and chief health counsel for Finance Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), is married to a registered lobbyist for a firm that represents drug companies and hospital groups, although the couple says she doesn’t lobby Grassley’s office.
Frederick Isasi, a health policy adviser to Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), was a registered lobbyist at Powell Goldstein, where his clients included public hospitals and the American Stroke Association.
Kate Spaziani, senior health policy aide to Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), was also a registered lobbyist at Powell Goldstein, although Conrad’s office says she worked as a lawyer — not as a lobbyist — for public hospitals on Medicare issues.
