Yup. They have been uncomfortable about it for a while. Now that they are adults, they have decided that their discomfort is great enough that they will avoid Grandpa Creepy altogether. Dad has delivered the message to Grandpa Creepy, but he insists that his neck and shoulder rubbing is innocent. Grandpa, if you can't keep your hands to yourself, you will not see your granddaughters again, ever. They don't like the neck and shoulder rubs. That is enough reason to stop and check yourself.

LW1: You are clueless. Pretty sure they gave off the impression they didn't like this and really who does this to adult women ... grandchildren or not. It's just creepy.

LW2: People put kids in shopping carts all the time. Who knows where their feet have been?

I have a couple of those. All my bags are reusable and I barely use plastic bags for produce unless I have to. It's only one person, but you know, every little bit helps and all that.

Yeah, neck and shoulder rubbing just seems *off* TO ME.

I would only do that to my wife and it's not something I do very often, unless she asks for a massage. I wouldn't want someone rubbing my neck and shoulder all the time, and I presume many women are the same, even if it is someone you are intimate with. I may put my arm around her, but rubbing, not very often.

I will take a neck and shoulder rub even from someone I think is creepy because I love them that much.

FWIW, many years ago , when I was in my 20's and early 30's there was an older gentleman whom I would frequetly encounter in group public settings who would come up and rub my neck. He had hands like bear paws and I liked it and miss it. But. It was anything but salacious and it was very public and I was not objecting. If there were times when I did, a Not now, John, would suffice, absolutely.

Grandpa Creepy sounds unaware of how his actios were perceived, but by teh same token, di anyone tell him to stop before it reached this point?

Yes, I think that is a woman thing. Bambi will ask me sometimes for a neck or shoulder rub or a foot rub (the things I do, lol). I don't think I've ever asked her for anything like that.

I wonder if they did. I also wonder if there body language conveyed that they were uncomfortable with it. Guy at best has trouble picking up on social cues.

I have a couple of good guy friends who occasionally give me a neck and shoulder rub. These are rare occasions, not often and I am OK with it. I work on the computer all day and I develop tension in my neck and shoulders. The thing with the granddaughters is that they are not OK with it. They dislike it to the point where they refuse to talk to Grandpa. So he needs to apologize and stop.

I was at a Pacers game once and their mascot sat down behind me and rubbed my shoulders for a minute. SUPER creepy, but it felt amazing. Jasper was with me and he was mostly amused, but I think ready to jump into action if necessary. The mascot dude never said a word.

I know it's not necessarily a sexual thing, but do you really think all these guys giving you women shoulder rubs would do so if you were 300 pound women? I think attractiveness has something to do with it.

So what you can take away from this post is that you all must be smoking hot or something.

Why you gotta take it in that direction, Race? I just thought since we were talking about shoulder "rubs", it would be a funny expression to use.
