Reports of flooded basements in west suburban Cicero during last night's storm.

Last night's storm certainly had some heavy rain with it. But it also appears that people's basements have flooded again with raw sewage in Cicero's Boulevard Manor neighborhood last night. And once again, the flooding was caused by a refusal of the Sewage treatment facility in Stickney to open the flood gates, causing sewage laden water to gush out of basement drains, standpipes, and catch basins.

Unable to find the rainfall totals for Cicero Sun.AM but Midway had only 0.83" and Oak Park 1.24". since we're somewhere in between them we had less than 1.25" and yet our bsmnts. are flooding. How can the Sewage treatment facility continue to deny responsibility for this?

We allready warned everyone yesterday and in 2010 that they need to learn to live with sewage in their basements. When there is Asian Carp, everyone pays through the forehead. And we allready warned everyone in our district that if anyone complains to us and tries to sue us for flood damage, their homes, as wlll as all of their posessions, will be immediately confiscated by us and the County, and all property taxes countywide will be drastically raised even more. Starting this year, there is a *Zero Tolerance Policy* for complaints and attempted lawsuits against us and/or the County of Cook in relation to basement flooding. And in fact, if we have to order a full militarization/military lockdown of Cicero and the surrounding areas every time heavy rains are headed this way to put everyone into submission, we will.

How vile and mean! No wonder we flooded again! Sounds like some real crooks working at that place that enjoy watching everyone around them suffer! Somebody better go over there and tell them that God does not like it when people are selfish and mean to other people, and neither does He like it when they deliberately flood people's basements with filthy sewage by deliberately sealing shut the flood gates during a heavy rain! Last time my basement flooded and I was fighting to try to stop the flood and save my belongings, I got blood poisoning and had to go to the hospital and get a tetanus shot.

Cameras connected to the WEB and aimed at the sewage treatment plant should be installed to allow anyone to see the gates or the water levels.

I just noticed something rather alarming. The Stickney Sewage plant, on the west side of Central avenue has a total of 96 clarifier tanks (those circular "pools" with the radius platforms that rotate around the center) and 128 aerator basins (those canal type channels that run parallel to each other). Well, it appears on Google Maps that 24 of the clarifier tanks and 32 of the aerator basins are, as of when the aerial photos were taken, not in operation. From the satellite view, the non operating clarifier tanks and aerator basins appear to be bone dry empty. That means that no less than a full one quarter of the sewage facility west of Central Avenue is not in operation at all. It could even be more than that, as the west-of-Central side of the sewage treatment facility is in fact only divided into 2 sections, east and west, each with a north/south connection of 48 clarification tanks and 64 aerator basins. And the entire north half of the west section is, according to Google Satellite, not in operation.

The smell of raw sewage is Roses and Lilacs compared to the smell of Hell!
