Looks as if Cicero is headed for more years of corruption and intimidation. There certainly will be little economic improvement for the people unless they are related to or close friends with Larry, tough guy, Dominick.

James, how interesting it is for Larry...since the three-member board is made up of people that are running for office on Larry's team. Talk about a surprise?!?!!
How about this...Larry did not get enough voter signatures to even BE ON the ballot. The only one that got enough was Ramiro Gonzalez. Cicero is being kidnapped right in front of our noses!!

And the legacy lives on...We hope the Feds come in and do a through investigation in all matters. For once we would like to have a clean town! And be able to VOTE for someone we want, not what the town trustees and president wants!

I wish you would have gotten the reaction from the residents about this before you printed this column. This is not a joke anymore, our freedom to vote as tax payers and residents has been stripped away from us!Sounds like Hitler in Europe all over again!I to hope the feds come in and go thru everything!

I am appalled that I have to look up my town news in the Chicago Tribune website(which I am grateful for). Cicero's elections are fired up right now and the 2 common newspapers we have do not inform the residents concerning their own town election. One newspaper(hispanic) is obviously biased toward a candidate, so that means that we don't get a "real" perspective. The other one has more reports on neighboring suburban towns and does not have an ounce of "life" in reporting Cicero election news.
Its WAAAY too quiet over here for all the craziness going on......the press is uncharacteristically and suspiciously too quiet.
Something is terribly WRONG when residents are only given biased, malicious gossip trying to be passed on as "information".

Either way, thanks for the tid bits you guys can throw our way, since we obviously have no press in Cicero.

Larry Dominick, his leadership, his vision for a new Cicero, the Nationally recognized services that the Town of Cicero provides for the senior residents of Cicero, the crime rate is down, the scandal of the previous Town administration is long gone, the new parks, the programs for youth, the new Municipal complex.. need I say more ?? With the help of the residents of the Town of Cicero, and the blessing of the lord, the Larry Dominick team will be in office for many many years to come.

Way to go Cicero, living up to your rep I see. Don't you guys ever get sick of this crap? I thought Chicago was bad but at least we allow more than ONE person on the ballot. Hilarious. Our votes might not be counted but we aren't this blatant about it.

Yes, "cheeba cheeba"....we are sick and tired of being sick and tired. These shenanigans, although serious, can be downright humorously ridiculous.
There's no such thing as "previous" scandals..."constant " scandals is what we get year after year, and the fact that the FEDs are checking us again proves that. It's disgusting and it undermines our intelligence as a community.
OMG, you guys should see the mailed campaign flyers. There's so much dirt being thrown around I'm surprised Cicero is still on the map and not buried 6ft under all the mud. AGAIN, WHERE IS THE PRESS?????

We need another kind of "leadership"...the kind that involves the "vision" of ALL Cicero, not just one person. "Leader" is too much of a big word for anyone as of yet.

Geez....I can say I almost miss Betty!!!

A no show?? Cuz hes working on the appeals that get him thrown off too.
All those names can be on the ballot and voted on Feb 24 but all those votes will get thrown out because EVERY SINGLE ONE will be disqualified for not having the minimum required signatures to have been on the ballot in the 1st place EXCEPT the team that was supporting Ramiro, cuz they did.
In my experience Alanis has done a good job...the other ones are new to me but they seem alright. They do look friendly on those pics.Who knows maybe that what we need is a fresh start. Some ppl look like they had a good run and just need to retire anyway.

If Larry is so good, how come he didn't do anything but public festivals and parties, up until his last year of office?
Why is his biggest accomplishment a bigger office for himself and his cronies?
Why is he so scared of having an opponent in this race? Is he not looking to give the people a fair election? He's knocked off Ramiro with a technicality and is trying to knock off Garcia with another obscure issue. If he was fair and good for Cicero, he would be the first to open the election and let the others run.

Larry is fat and stupid, i'd like him to face me in hand to hand combat, he steals, he hates mexicans, the money he does spend on cicero is a wasted building and wasted advertisement dollars. Not to mention all of his incompetant friends and family on the payroll. Lets put him out of his misery now and not leave it to the feds. Vote Roberto or Ed 2/24/09

Signs by Desplaines and 26th, that's funny.
To be fair, I think his wife is Mexican so I don't think he hates them."Fat"...well,ok I give you that one. "Stupid"...hmm, I've tried to figure that out myself. It's really wierd when someone else always has to answer for him. Has he no voice for his own community to hear from their president??
I certainly did NOT expect a fair election because its obvious that he wants to hold on to the power.
Their flyers are now all about his "goodness" his "greatness", his "saving lives"...who is he, Jesus Christ????
Look, I'm going to rebel all this crap. I'm crazy enough to punch the hole next to "candidate withdrew" where Ramiro's name was out of spite.

They will get away with it if WE let them....

I will not vote for him its clear he is a scumbag so is his whole click of followers...with that being said with all the shananagins going on this election i see him winning easily and losing his position sometime over his next 4 year term with a jail sentence for him proft. delgaldo etc.

Proof he is stupid? here is some
