If I could, I'd every single one of the aldermen that voted for this out of office on their rear. Bunch of idiots that screwed us royally. Can't wait for the next election cycle.

Maori is very much back in the country. Once the analysis has been checked, you will find that Daley has sold off a great deal more than just the parking meters.

Nothing like a pathological liar for an Olympic MAYOR !

This is going to cost the taxpayers big time.

What - No insurance yet Pat ?

The Mayor is going down.
I have to pay meters on Sundays and overnight now? I have to pay Morgan Stanley?
What are they thinking?

Why are these ignorant aldermen debating something they have no control over anyway. Heir Daley wanted the parking meter deal and the aldermen, like the stooges they are, approved. What more is to be said? Except fire everyone in city hall and start over.

"$1.15 billion upfront from a firm that will reap revenues for the next 75 years from steep rate hikes at all 36,000 parking spots across the city." -- If nobody is parking, then the firm that bought the rights isn't doing any reaping. And they still have to pay the city the $1.15B. This is a temporary annoyance while the firm figures out what people will actually pay. Until they do that, they have big problems.

Da mayor drinks everyday and he is not a alcoholic, it is just calm the stress he's shafting the business around the city.

Go to the suburbs to shop.
With the saving you can dine there.
On the way back gas up your car.
Liquor is cheap there, no crook county tax.
Parking is stress free.

Shaft the city all you can and will go down to the mare.

I've heard that a heavily charged magnet the size of a credit card, slathered with epoxy and inserted into the slot of a pay box really does a number on it.

That's what I've HEARD. I surely won't be trying this myself. Nooooooooooo.

This a waste of time for these goofs!

The deal is done and can't be reversed without a fat lawsuit!

These people should be fired for NOT doing their job long ago!

Too little to late. These 'officials' are the dumbest bunch ever elected outside of the Bush administration. They are stupid, power hungry, egotistical buffoons who will vote for anything that puts money in their pockets, regardless of the affects on residents. However, I have to laugh at the ones that own businesses (Tunney) and are getting hurt since people refuse to park. Now that the city has just about sold every asset used for raising money, how are we going to raise money going forward? I see even more taxes in our future because of this mis-management.

In this political maelstrom, it appears that Daley is the only politician who UNDERSTANDS what is going on.

For better (often for himself and his friends and family) or worse (always for taxpayers).

The aldermen are clueless liars and petty thiefs.

Wow they voted 40-5 in favor of Czar Daley's meter deal and now they have questions ? Kind of like the old saying of "Closing the barn doon after all the animals have left the barn" These Alderclowns or at least 45 of them that voted for the deal or failed to vote or just Daley lackey's, they now complain that the higher meter rates are driving shoppers away "NO KIDDING" you were warned this would happen, now it has and you can't do "jack" about it, the people are PO'd and you are the fools that are going to pay, when the next election rolls around,we can get 45 new Clowns to take you place, mayb just maybe they will do whats right for us that live in your wards, and stop being a lacky for Daley the Ringmaster, hopefully we UN-ELECT HIM first !! I don't live far from the the burbs and have no problem driving north to park for free and have a lower sales taxes. To the Alderclowns you approved it and now have to live with your lack of spine, I HOPE THE PEOPLE REMEMBER AND VOTE ALL YOU SCUM FROM OFFICE, I WON'T FORGET AND WON'T LET MY NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS FORGET EITHER !!

Hmmm, 4 hours AFTER the fact. Kind of backwards don'tcha think. They should have held 4 hour (minimum) meetings before they voted. Idiots!
Those pay boxes being installed are a huge moneymaker for LNZ. You figure, I park and don't use my 15 minutes they still have my quarter, PLUS the quarter of the next person to park there because there is no meter with a few minutes left on it. Too bad Daley was too busy trying to sugar coat all his B.S. deals than to actually think of a way to make money for Chicago. Not only now, but in the long term. Can you imagine the mess the next mayor of Chicago will find when this fool either dies or is voted out of office?

What collection of toothless puppies these Alderman are. A day late and a dollar short. Billions of dollars short in fact. Daley gave our money away and the Alderman pretend to care. The Alderman should grow a pair and rescind the deal. But that will not happen because the Aldermen are the lap dogs of a dictator. As long as they get theirs, the Alderman will continue to put on shows like this one where they pretend to be concerned, but nothing NOTHING gets done or changes. What a joke. Our city government has been hijacked by larcenists.

If Daley and the aldermen want the Olympics, they themselves should have "skin" in the game. Here's the deal: If the Olympics lose money, they lose their pensions. Since they are all saying the chances of losing money are so remote, they shouldn't have any problem with agreeing to put their pensions on the line.

This stunt by these liars is to appease the voters, to make it look like they are as angry with this deal gone bad as we the taxpayers are. When in reality they are all responsible for ramroding this thru without the least bit of reasearch and debate. Smoke and mirrors here folks. These idiots do not understand when fees, taxes, etc. are regressive, people shop with their feet and choose not to shop in your very expensive city. This happened with the cigarette tax increase, bottled water tax, the results were less revenue than projected, it should have been a red flag that people are fed up with your BS over taxation. But I guess when you have your head up the mayors butt, you can't see those red flags all over your stupid tax, fee, increases. Vote them ALL out, it cannot get any worse with someone other than Daleyites running our once great city.

Well let me be the first to congratulate the Chicago City Council on a job well done!

Oh, you mean they scrutinized the parking meter deal *after* it was passed? Brilliant!

Such typical Dummycrat logic. Raising taxes to raise revenue never ever equals out.

It drives away business and revenue falls short, but the money was already spent. So they talk about raising taxes again. The cycle repeats again and again.

They will be charging $100 per hour in a ghost town someday.
