This news comes as quite a shock to the followers of Channel2 evening news. Just as the team was really coming together now they are gone. Sorry to say, so am I. Mark Malone was a very informative and knowledgable sportcaster. Diann was in touch with the viewers in Chicago and gave us great incite into the daily happenings in our city.

They paid her $2 million a year to sit and read out loud for about an hour per day? Police, fireman and many others risk their lives daily for less than 1% of that!

No sympathy for Ms. Burns

I'm glad Burns and Childers are gone.....I could never watch for too long a period when they were on, Burns seems to not know how to read the teleprompter and Childers has this aire about her that makes it hard to maybe bringing in someone like Allison Rossati or Mark Supelsa, who have this endearing personality might help......keep the divas in LA!!!!

I am not sad to see Diann Burns go. She was terrible!!!! I also remember where she accused construction workers being racist because she was black and they did poor quality work. Making 2 million dollars a year I would think she could afford high quality union workers. She is the racist and what goes around comes around. Don't let the door hit you in the ass as you go. Good ridens.

just watch...she's pulling out the race card and screaming bloody murder! Despite the fact that we have ignoramuses like Warner Saunders mispronouncing the news every night, poor Diann is gonna call Rev. Sharpton and scream racism!!!!!!!!!!

In their efforts to draw larger audiences, media sometimes makes mistakes. They downsize to save money and that is the cost of doing business in such a money-driven society. I wish Ms.Burns and Mr. Romo all the best!!!!!!!!!

Looks like NBC5 has a new viewer; me. Always liked CBS2, especially Childers and Burns; real lowkey but informative. Seems Ahern should be the one to go. He can't get it right after all this time. Wishing all that lost their jobs good luck, good new jobs, and thanks for the many years.

I think that this was really a poor management decision. The news crew got together well and were like one of your family. You could trust them. How can you trust Channel 2 management any longer if they do this. They didn't think of their loyal viewers at all.

Unfortunately, the station had to do something. Burns did nothing to bring viewers to the station. She was always overrated. The best AA female newcaster now is Karen Jordan, period. Take a look Channel 2.

They'll never see comp packages like that again. Seriously, does anyone watch the tv news anymore? Ok, anyone less than 75 years old? You can get your news online in 3 minutes or half the time it takes them (and NBC 5) just to spit out the weather forecast.
Please tease me throughout your broadcast about the 7 Day forecast, then quickly ramble thru it as you're signing off. Or should I watch your 5:00 news which is all teases about your 6:00 broadcast? It works on grandma though! Ms Burns should go back to Devry and get a VCR Repair Degree - it's more relevent/valuable.

2 million is too much money to read a teleprompter.

Diann will be alright just like the rest of the staff, they have plenty of money saved up from there over bloated paychecks , they will seek other employment ,however too many
other people will be seeking employment to take there place,
only to take vast cuts in pay, but what im trying to point out
is nothing lasts forever !
