Rest In Eternal Peace Officer Valadez.

ROMANS 13:1-4

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

THANK YOU is inadequate, but no words can express the gratitude I have as a citizen of Chicago towards my heroes in the police and fire departments.

Officer critically injured in car crash is robbed of gun and wallet while disabled in his vehicle.

Officer murdered in line of duty.

All this in just one week.

Maybe Jody ought to keep these in mind when he looks at a discipline recommendation on his desk. These are the kind of people that we deal with every day.

Rest In Peace, brother.

Where is the outrage from President Obama.
(Yes, I know somebody will respond that this has nothing to do with Obama or that they were just waiting for somebody to tie this to Obama, really don't care.)

He was able to express outrage over the death of an abortion doctor, on a Sunday, the same day as it happened, but nothing when an officer is killed in the line of duty. Perhaps you should change the priorities of the economic stimulus and pass that on to cities to hire more police officers and equip them properly. That is not happening here in Chicago, I don't know what the priorities are of our elected officials here in Chicago, but they do not appear to be that of the safety of its citizens. Yes, I know that area is a crime ridden war zone, and those people must change their views and realize how precious life is, perhaps a wall should be built around them. I know the police can't be everywhere and people must become civilized and respect life. I do not know what is causing the thuggery in the South Side that is causing the majority of the madness within our city.

Where are all the renouncers of the CPD, those so called men of God, those so called reverends, where are they in asking the killer to come forward? Where are they in trying to better their communities? Why do they and others in their communities, including Jesse Jackson, think that when morality and other issues to better the black community are told to them, it is seem as talking to them - angering some to the point such as Jesse Jackson who wanted to cut off Obama's testicles for "talking down" to black people?

I am sorry. I am just so angry and upset over the death of this police officer. I am not a police officer or know one, just tired of the killing that is going on on an almost daily basis. This is insane.

Police officers, please NEVER second guess yourselves.

RIP Officer Valadez.

"I'm gonna shoot at their (butt) again"

YouTube video posted May 30, 2009. I saw this posted on the ABC 7 site by another commentator.

I hope the police are rounding up these thugs and questioning them. Too bad they can't be waterboarded just for being thugs.

I can't believe this happened in Englewood, such a nice place filled with such good people! Englewood voted for Obama at like 100%, so this kind of crime coming from such an enlightened area is really a shocker!

******END OF SARCASM*****

Chicago will never get control of this as long as the articulate Mr. Daley cares more about black votes than the random cop on the street. Rudy Giuliani should be the example he follows, but he's not that much of a man. He's corrupt, evil and selfish.

put another way, the mutt cop who beat up that bartender doesn't get a pass because someone stole a cop's gun.
Everyone grieves in their own way. And, for you to get on here at a time like this and talk about police corruption and Abbate only shows what a fool you are.

Why all this rage toward Obama? The rage should be directed toward the gang members. I grew up on the south-side, had a classmate murdered by gang members our senior year in high school. Had a police officer friend gunned down a few years later. Your rage should be toward the parents and how their children are raised, how they care for and about their children. How many say "my kid isn't in a gang," went in fact they are, their kids are on the streets at 2 a.m. doing who knows, they use, buy and sell drugs cause it fast and easy money. Chicago has always had gang problems - for years - since the area was founded. It's always about the same thing - MONEY. Follow the money and today you'll find the drugs. Legalize the drugs, take the profit out of it and control the flow. Go back to the 1920's and prohibition, same thing as today. Avon Barksdale, you're right on target.

Condolences to the family and friends of the officer. I've been there personally. Thank you to officers everywhere who are their to serve and protect us all.

I am in a related law enforcement position out on west coast. Starting my career in Chicago area. Its amazing how some folks take such a sad occasion & put a racist tone on it. Agree with at least one other blog writer this death of this officer had nothing to do with Obama.Agree also with that blog writer problem starts in the home & how a child is raised. I have seen that first hand. My thoughts & prayers go out to the family & friends of this fallen hero.

Whatever the political or social cause is in line to take the blame, the one true fact remains that this officer put himself where 99% of the population would not dare tread, save for the gangbangers themselves, but their actions are not bravery, its stupidity and cowardly. Since we all have to die, I consider his death that of a hero. But its beyond sad his life ended so soon.

To those that loved him, theres nothing to say to stop the hurt.

To those that took him, your time is coming. And your death will be void of respect and honor.
