Good job Michael Frasier. The NY Times seems to know who the Long Island firm is, how come you don't?

I think----------that he should do some of that mile high, sweaty work on an UNINSPECTED CRANE-that he signed off on.

I am the daughter to one of the biggest tower crane opertaors that is part of the largest non-Union crane company in New York City. You obviously are aware that the man my father works for is the man you are trying to reem vengence for from many years ago. And I am begging you to stop.. my father is innocent; He is honest & never in a million years would cheat, steal, or lie. I hope you understand what you're actually doing, just to destroy a man's life that you dislike, you are going to destroy a bunch of innocent crane operators/ workers that have families to support. What about you? How did you receive the test, did anyone ever ponder that thought?! What about the drugs?! Yes, people talk & I hope you know that if your pathetic, jealous attempts to destroy Nu-Way Crane & harm every single one if the company's workers, a time for honoring yourself will soon come to an end Dan Mooney. Please think about what you are actually doing, because now families are being put at risk for your foolish, unneccesary acts. My father's a hard worker, worked all his life for the assets he obtains & by God, he does not deserve this at all. He does not deserve to have men come to the door with investigations. Yes, granted, everything is chaotic right now, but that does not give you the right to attack Mike & everyone of his workers in the way you are doing so. Think about what you're doing Dan, because as tears roll down my face in fright for my father & my family, you sit there selfishly boasting without a care in the world. Those are not the characteristics that define a person. I think you really need to reevaluate what you're doing. Leave them be, do what you do, worry about you & your own business.. not someone you used to share a common friendship and employment with.

A stance? I think you mean, taking a 'stand'. I don't know who you are, who your father is. I've read some news articles and seen someone arrested for several reasons; an Inspector. Is that your father? The man who took bribes and those bribes were in place of having cranes inspected? Sold tests and answers..and more?
I'm not sure what your post is all about.
As a citizen, as a New Yorker, if there are people responsible for structural failure with these monster cranes BECAUSE they took bribes, BECAUSE the cranes that 'passed' inspection-were never inspected...they should go to jail.
If it were your family that lost a loved one (either someone on the street) or a crane operator...perhaps you'd be saying exactly what I am saying.
I say-let the courts decide. And---they will-by jury or non jury trial. That's our system of justice and 'for the most part'; it works.

This information was gotten from The New York Daily News website.

"All of Delayo's bribes were paid by the owner or employees of a single crane company, Department of Inspections spokesperson Dianne Struzzi said.

Struzzi declined to name the company, but sources close to the investigation confirmed that the outfit is Nu-Way Crane Co. of Copiague, L.I.

The company is owned by Michael Sackaris, who was a member of the Buildings Department's Cranes and Derricks Advisory Board, which helps guide agency policies.

"I don't think he would do that," Sackaris' father, Jimmy, said at his Island Park, L.I., home. "He's never had an accident. He helps other guys out."

Michael Sackaris, who lives in St. James, L.I., declined to comment through his father.

Sackaris' name surfaced in a state Inspector General's probe into corruption in the state Labor Department's issuing of state crane operators licenses.

He was listed among 198 crane operators granted state licenses despite failing the practical exam."

Would someone please translate this jibberish for me. I hope this one's father has a bit more "on the ball" then does his "daughter." If not I wouldn't want him using a Tonka Toy Crane in a sand box!

No my father is not the inspector, he is a tower crane operator for Nu Way Crane; and the message I wrote concerns one man & one man only. So, the 'jibberish' you would like to be translated, does not concern you. It's subliminal to a single individual & that one man knows exactly who he is.

I don't blame the girl. She is sticking up for her dad. I've known Mike (NU-Way crane for 12 yrs. He has a lot of balls to open up the largest Non-Union crane company in NYC. I give the man respect for going after local 14 head on. I know Dan Mooney as well for about the same time. He forgets where he came from. he worked for 3 different crane companies. He trashed Bay when he left them also. This bussiness is full of oportunist including some of the past Cranes & Derrick inspectors. They have the right to shut a crane bussiness down for the littlest things, right before they shake them down. The union controls who gets the state licenses. They have a huge H.O. for Mike Sakaris. I remember some years ago, one of Mikes operators took the NY State practical 3 times. Mike also video taped the test. He did perfect in every move, and they still failed him for obvious reasons. Some people (Dan) need to realize that the same people you run into on the way up, you run into again on the way down. Good luck Mike S.

The fall guy emerges; the building was a city project. The responsibility ultimately falls on the mayor who is one of the worst we've ever had. Corporate fascists should never be allowed to hold political office.

Why are you putting all of this in a forum? I don't think your father would appreciate all of this information being posted in this way. If you're concerned about 'public opinion'..I suggest you take all this energy and put it someplace that will do some good.

I was a crane operator in the 70's and 80's There was plenty of blame to go around... The inspectors took bribes To get your CO Certificate of operation... it was 500.00 plus you bought him breakfast... After a non inspection He never even looked at the crane... The operator that was there would know if there were any problems most said nothing (fear of losing job.. The bosses knew there equipment... and any problems its not about safety its about money keep the machines moving... I saw many a violation on a crane if you reported it you were told to shut your mouth and nothing was done the whole industry is corupt... Bribes no show jobs mob conections....

Had no license to operate a crane when he tipped over his crane and crushed a womans legs in 1985 and made insurace rates for cranes increase so high it almost put us out of business... now bribery!

Keeping your mouth shut with all of the 'corrupt' business practice going on-is as corrupt.
Everyone knows that this crane biz is all mob connected - when you go into this 'line of work'..you know that. Fear of losing your employment - how does someone sleep at night knowing there someone's legs were crushed (I remember that one) or a passerby or crane operator loses their life?
