If I give a drink to an alcoholic, I am just as responsible for his drinking. If I give drugs to a junkie, I am responsible for contributing to his problem. There is even a push by some lawmakers, and may even be on the books in places, about holding doctors accountable for legally prescribing drugs to people who obviously have a problem and end up dying.
I agree with such a law. Something must be done about this epidemic of prescription drug abuse.
Well since you asked, Obama listened.

Just FWIW, I got a reply from my DC congressman. He supports a Syrian strike (he's a republican). I replied saying I'll remember that in the next election, tossing in a bit about having to cut unemployment benefits and the Blue Angels yet having the money to "burn" getting involved in a civil war in some other country. It's warming to know that my vote, and opinion, are completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Democracy at work.

Which was exactly MY point! He did it to himself. He could have stopped before he OD'd, but didn't. That was his personal choice.

Dog, you really have been off your rocker lately.

Are you equating a doctor handing a prescription to an addict the same thing as two druggies using together?

I firmly believe that where there's a will there's a way when it comes to addicts in the prime of their addiction. SIL would get pills from her MIL (who was/is a peach - not) to feed her addiction. and i've heard of people shopping for doctors who will fill RX with minimal questions and going to multiple practices to get them. all in the name of addiction.

Nono! She was at the funeral. I meant away from all the messy planning. ;)
