Nope, but I think some groups are trying to get it on the ballot next year.

Where does it say he's an addict/ junkie? Hell, the letter eays nothing of his drug use other than he od'd. She calls the rest of them, everyone that turned against her, a drug abuser. If three people are recreationally partaking, how fo you blame the survivors if one goes to far?

If you are out drinking with the fellas, which one of you is responsible for making sure the others don't drink themselves into a coma?

Edog expects a fellow junkie to be like:

No, I'm not going to share my heroin with you. That would be wrong!! I will not enable a junkie. That would be insensitive. I will instead not share and use it all on my junkie self!!!

First time drug users rarely die from overdose. Sure, it happens, but logic tells all three were addicts in this case.

This has got to be one of the dumbest things you ever said.

i never said he was a first time user. Are thise the only 2 possibilities? First imer snd then steaight to addict?
And if, as you are niw assuming, all 3 were addicts, it goes back to the lw blaming the other 2 addicts as if he would not have been doing the drugs if it were not for them. As if the 2 other addicts should have been making sure he stayed clean.

That may be.

Were they not addicts, it would have been much more easier and possible.

LW1: You left out a critical piece of information. Has your ladyfriend *ever* escaped from under Mama's clutches? College? Marriage?
If she hasn't, then you're SOL and can forget about getting a naughty weekend with her--she's totally used to being controlled by her harpy mother and it ain't gonna change now.

Good point.
Since mom is 95, lady friend is at least 60 or so.

Yikes! What if she is a 60 year old virgin?

Why didn't any of the rest of you think of this??!!

1: Wow...over 7 decades on this planet and she still can't tell mom no. Tragic.

2: Let them go.
I have to say, as crazy as I think my family is, I am proud of how we all came together to lovingly take care of my bro 24/7 and my fam all made funeral plans decently (actually I made them all and they both approved). Being divorced, my SIL stayed away and that was perfectly fine; she was inconsolable.

He went out with family, with love, and we did our best and it didn't destroy our family.

Your SIL stayed away from her ex husbands funeral? Is she the nieces' mother?

So... What was your point? You gave a scenario and I responded. What... exactly are you looking for?

Why the hell isn't Stina being slammed for her insensitivity of drug addiction? That is what I had initially responded to. Why the hell does everyone come after me all the time?? Imagine if *I* had made Stina's ridiculous statement? You people would jump on me from every direction.*I* call someone out, and *I'm* jumped on from every angle. I will not engage in anymore of this nonsense until I am given an apology and the rest of you refocus your inquiries where they belong.

You responded with "what if they weren't addicts? Then they could have looked out for him." Well, shit, if you're gonna what-if that detail, why not go full boat and say what if HE wasn't an addict, then he wouldn't be dead.
edogxxx wrote:

You equated it to a non-alcoholic giving an alcoholic a drink. This is a ludicrous analogy. How many non-drug users do you know who feed dope to a user?

Then responding to me, you presume they are all abusers(as does the LW). Stina(and I) both pretty much said the same thing. You can't blame one user for what happens to another user (as LW is trying to do). No one forced him to use.

Not ridiculous at all. I made the same statement.

Let me respond to this one.

The reason you have been jumped on is that your opinions are stated in inflammatory and deliberately provocative ways; your posts are belligerent and you are quick to put labels on people that, while they may be accurate, have nothing to do with the subject at hand and which you clearly use in a pejorative way.

For example, you have crossed boundaries, even for Topix discussions, and even though the other party backed down, you did not. So that there is no misunderstanding I am talking about you and Mimi. You have therefore primed the group to expect a type of response from you, to strike back when you make it.

Think of it this way. You say "Bite me" and the group responds, "Chomp".

If you didn't expect that, then you are out of awareness of how your posts are perceived -- which I doubt-- and/or you continue the same way regardless. If you have been surprised by this up to now, learn it for the future.

If you want to be treated better, consider the style in which you express your opinions and your willingness to consider that other people have different opinions without flaming or tossing stereotype labels on them for it.

Here's another clue: insistence on literal accuracy ( show me where I said that, etc) smacks of 3rd grade school yard stuff. You are being treated accordingly. You don't like it? Change.

Try responding to substance instead of barbs. After a while, the barbs look juvenile all on their own without any help from you.

The substance is all yours.I ,for one, wouldn't have that part of you any other way, but Dog, you are buying your own grief here.
