I don't know and I don't care. I am not going to debate about what some hack advice columnist MIGHT have said in the case of a HYPOTHETICAL letter. What she said about the letter that was actually written is right or wrong, regardless of any other imaginary scenario.
??? Its right or wrong regardless of some hypothetical. Ok. And I believe you agreed with her.

So then you agree that this boyfriend who, as the LW herself put it, got "fed up" with being neglected when mom came to town is trying to control her.

I can't agree with something that wasn't said. Why are you pulling a Race/Mutt? Nowhere in Amy's response is there anything about the bf trying to control the LW. Amy said "If he needs to suck it up and be a better sport, then tell him so. Regardless, both parties need to respect the other, even if they don’t like one another." Nothing in there or anywhere else about control. Mom is part of the package. The bf simply didn't want to deal with it, so he opted out. That's entirely his right and it has nothing to do with control. By your interpretation, any time someone bailed on a relationship because of a third-party factor, that would make them controlling. Apparently the LW wasn't special enough, or the mom was just too big of a PITA for him to hang in there.

Yo! Doh! head. Learn to read ya moron!

You also need to learn to balance opposing parties, both of whom are trying to control you.

Have I mentioned how much you suck at this game?

Point me to the excerpt about control.

And what "game" are you talking about? Since you mention that, you remind me of one of my former co-workers. He would pick out someone in the crowd on the way to the office and he would race them to certain points along his route. Only they didn't know they were being raced. And he'd actually be happy when he "won." And he thought his little "game" was clever. Everyone else just thought he was sad. You remind me of him.

So basically perception about control is just your assessment?

No, Tonka interpreted it the same way. In fact everyone does except you.
What is your assessment?

Um, I already explained my perception. Mom was a PITA and the bf decided the girl wasn't worth it.

Awwwww,
question too difficult for you?
How about you answer the question about control? You know the one you have been harping on all day long.

How's the question too difficult? I answered it. Twice. I have to ask (at least half-seriously) are you supposed to be on some kind of medication and you're not taking it?

"For the past year, I have been in a “flirtationship”(so to speak) with a guy. We talk almost every day. I really like him, and I’m pretty sure he likes me too. We’re practically dating, but we’ve never made it official."

Well, LW, why don't you get your BFF Susie to pass the guy a note in study hall letting him know that you, like, OMG, really, REALLY like him! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

(But since the above advice is obviously far too subtle for you, I'll just add: Jebus--Grow the F up, you dumb tw*t.)

Put some visine in, grab your readoping glasses, and have a shot of esspresso to make sure you're awake and you can see clearly. Read the letter agian. Its not Race's perception. That was a direct quote from the letter. Amy verbatim said they are both trying to control her. Obviously you missed that and did your normal dance with Race. Now that it has been clearly pointed out to you as a direct Amy quote, do you agree with her that HE is trying to control her? Obviously, the rest of us find her assessment to be in line with her normal man bashing advice.

Hmmm....that seems to be my assessment as well. I'm leaving you a door here to jump on board with the amy hating. She clearly did not have the same opinion about the bf. She clearly called him controlling. If the above is your assessment, then you DON'T agree with amy as you previously stated.
