The first clunker we need to trade in is the O Regime before we have a wreck that wipes us all out.

The previous regime was plenty dumb, but at least it didn't try to take over our entire health care system or 2 of the Big 3 automakers or climate change.... The problem with Dobo is that he's dumb but does want to take over our lives in the name of Uncle Sham.

Yes, you want these people handling your "end of life counseling" to decide whether the government can afford your medical procedures or not?

Barely six months into the Obama Administration and the incompetence is amazing. Bush has nothing on Obama in the incompetence department. Can't wait to see what the next 3.5 years bring us.

Did Obama already hit the spending limit with the Chinese? One trillion too many?

This is the same sort of "planning" and "projections" we saw with Obama's people on the Stimulus: 600,000 jobs, 3 million jobs, 4 million jobs. The number kept changing. And we see no real jobs created. In fact, we read some of the "jobs" they are counting are a whopping 35 hour deal, ending then in unemployment.

So basically 222,000 cars have been bought in the past week? If not more?

I thought Obama and the Democrats were about "fairness"?

How is it fair that a person who traded in their car a year ago, or even 2 weeks ago, gets zilch from Uncle Sam, then someone who did it yesterday gets $4500, and someone who trades in the same make, model and year of car next week gets zilch? Is that fairness?

This is typical of the Obama Administration's failures. Read up on the much touted "mortgage modification" program.

The mortgage modification program has hardly modified any mortgages, and it is actually being attacked from the Left beacuse people are losing their homes while the modification paperwork gets tied up, lost or whatever it is that bureaucrats do.

Great Point,
Name one Government that runs efficiently and is cost effective?

I have a "solution" to "save" and "revive:" one, the US auto industry; two, the CASH FOR CLUNKERS program specifically; and three, the US economy in general.

My "solution," and which I am naming THE NEW AND IMPROVED STIMULUS PROGRAM, is we should give every single resident of the entire United States one hundred million dollars in cash and rebate coupons.

The reason I am favor of such a plan is that while the present stimulus plans already in effect virtually guarantee wild and runaway inflation in the future and are also basically longterm suicide, still I don't think they will give us an inflation rate quite as wild as Germany had in the 1920's, and I think it is a "disgrace" that with all of the so called economists and economics "experts" we have in our country trying their very hardest to totally screw things up, er, excuse me, I mean improve things, that still we have not yet reached the infation rate that Germany had in the 1920's.

Get ready, on your mark, get set, PRINT.

Obama also has the $8000 tax credit for first time buyers. That program illogical and abruptly ends in November. I was reading the Obama people are nervous about that one, too, since they miscalculated how many people would be attracted to free money.

When these Obama people run the health care system teh way they run "cash for clunkers", watch as they are surprised after they miscalculate how many people hop a plane for the US or cross the Rio Grande to get to the USA for their health care needs.

As currently proposed, the ObamaCare bill is free is you can't afford it and it covers illegal aliens. Wonder what that will cost. Wonder what Obama THINKS it will cost. About 1/3 of the 46 million uninsured number are illegals.

A year from now the story may be about people like you who are turned away from the emergency room which was "full" because the Obama people miscalculated how many illegals would be in line ahead of you for free health care. But that is ok if health care is a "right" that must be paid for by the government, on your dollar, and given freely to all people, regardless of citizenship status.

That's the truth!

Now think about all of the auto dealers, manufacturers, etc. who are trying to figure out sales projections, etc.- and thus, allocation of resources, like JOBS.

With the government, they have to be very careful about what they do. This is why the free market is better. It gives people and businesses a chance to figure out what to do and advance. The government just slows everyone down.

Plus, the government is using money that we don't have so they are contributing to other problems. For something like every $100,000 the government is spending, only $55,000 is coming from taxes, etc. The rest is coming from the Chinese, others, and the printers.

Exactly what I said all along. Give the money to the PEOPLE and the economy would be stimulated. Hey Obama, could you please consider cutting taxpayers a DECENT stimulus check?

Toyota? Why is Toyota in on this plan? This should be for the purchase of an AMERICAN car ONLY! We really need some protectionism back in our system.

And instead of leaving the dealers out on a limb, why not grant each dealership a certain amount of rebates?

I have to agree this time with the wingers that this was not a well thought out plan and that the health plan better not be so haphazard.

Obama could not limit it to "American" cars because he gave away for free the ownership of Chrysler to Italian company Fiat. Yes, Obama still has a share but the Italians are in charge.

Therefore, Obama had to let Toyota in since Chrylser is Italian now. And lots of GM cars are now made in Canada, Mexico, and Australia of all places.
