HA! i just went to dump my lunch garbage in the kitchen (ours is smaller than many 1/2 baths) nad there were 2 people in there, a third walks in saying "i just heard it beep" and one of the others ALREADY took her stuff out of the micro and set it on top...
but then, the 3rd person has a habit of leavign her stuff in there for a bit. her desk is just far enough away that she barely hears the beep, but she won't stay by the micro like most people...
A week or two, someone left their lunch in the micro and someone took it out and put it on the counter. At 5:00, that lunch was still sitting there!!! How do you forget to go back to get your lunch???

Yikes! Hope it's not a pretemor or something. I don't particularly like tornadoes nor blizzards (the extent really of bad weather/mother nature), but I wonder how I would take earthquakes. When we had one here it was nothing like you get in Cali I would imagine. It just shook my bed a bit and that was it. Wasn't, at the time, sure whether it was a big truck hitting a bump in the road or what.
Be careful out there.
It was a 3.8 on the San Andreas about 35-40 miles southeast of here. I rather enjoy the small ones. I'm up on the 7th floor here @ work, so I feel the small ones more than someone at ground level. Only one earthquake has really scared me; the Loma Prieta quake of '89 which happened on Oct. 17 of that year. It was a 6.9 and it shook for half a minute. We lost power for 12 hours but fortunately experienced no damage. Some people were not so lucky. I hope to never experience another one like that.

We have a nice spacious lunchrom with about 3 microwaves. No one stands by the microwave waiting except the people waiting to put stuff in cause they don't want to lose their place in line. But once your stuff is heating up, everyone heads back to their table and waits for the ding.

Get pulled into a meeting that never ends?

I was in a 1:30 meeting yesterday that was supposed to be 30 minutes. It ended up going about an hour. I had just gotten back to my desk and was about to go get a drink when someone came to get me for a meeting they needed me in and forgot to invite me to. He said, "do you have a few minutes to join us?".

Sure. A few minutes lasted until 10 to 5.

I hate those. Meetings IMHO should never exceed an hour.

I hate those meetings. I monitor my liquid consumption based on meeting length. Half hour meeting turns in to an hour and a half meeting and I'm about to explode.

That's a bad day.

I hate Friday afternoon meetings because it seems like they always run long and then I'm scrambling to put out all the fires when I get back to my desk and still make it out of here and a reasonable hour.

in an open lunchroom, that's one thing, but here, shes around 2 corners, 10-15 feet down and in an office. if she were the same number of feet away in an open space, she'd hear it and be able to jump up and get it. i'm close to there, straight line away, and i haave to yell at her that her stuff is ready more often than not. i'm not sure if she gets on the phone or is flaky...

Ummmm, why are *you* paying the fine your husband incurred for beating YOU up? Something is very wrong here...
