I, personally, would propose making all guns illegal. But I'd accept semi-automatics and hand guns being illegal. Until that day comes, and it will come, I want real background checks for all purchases and a paper trail of purchase documentation for all guns and a national database of purchases and ownership.

I also think we need to seriously address the lack of mental health diagnosis and care.

Fortunately, the US Constitution protects us from such foolishness.

Not without an amended Constitution - and good luck with that.

Already the law. ATF Form 4473.

Now you're getting warmer. How about mandatory reporting to LE by shrinks and medicos and a national database of mental defectives and emotionally disturbed people? You know, the potential killers?

Interesting - but irrelevant.

Let us know when you have RELEVANT data for nations with population > 300 million.

No more delays. The NRA have had it their way long enough!
What laws do you want fixed? How would you fix them? What is it that you want to see?

I, personally, would propose making all guns illegal. But I'd accept semi-automatics (assault weapons), large ammo clips and hand guns being illegal. Until that day comes, and it will come, I want real background checks for ALL purchases and a paper trail of purchase documentation for all guns and a national database of purchases and ownership.

I also think we need to seriously address the lack of mental health diagnosis and care.

And what exactly do you think that will do, mate? Law breakers will still have guns. People will be unable to protect themselves from lawbreakers. What do you mean by "real background checks"? You do realize there are already such measures in place. Right?

That's .003 PERCENT of the population. More people die from diarrhea, but that doesn't make for good cable news or hand-wringing Socialist policy- making.

Well, I doubt you will see handguns becoming illegal. You can background check and paper trail until the wolves howl at the moon but none of that would have stopped the tragedy that happened last week. When someone is he11-bent on killing others and then offing themselves, they couldn't care less if the police know who's gun it was. You see, criminals will always find a way. On the other hand, perhaps if the principal (at least) had been armed, the outcome may have been very different.

Just a few more facts, StT,
89 Americans killed by automobiles every day.
40 of those 89 Americans were killed by automobiles where alcohol was involved.
205 Americans killed by alcohol abuse every day.
1214 Americans killed by tobacco use every day. 134 of those Americans were not smokers but were killed by second hand smoke.
2150 unborn Americans killed every day for convenience.

These figures far exceed the deaths caused by guns yet the libs don't want to talk about these.

Please, don't be intentionally obtuse. No one believes, nor is anyone saying, that stricter and more restrictive laws will stop all violence. But it will surely lower the incidence. Otherwise, all you're doing is stooging for the gun manufacturers. More violence in the form of arming more people is stupid.

Besides, people will eventually decide that the carnage is not worth the "fun" of guns. Why should innocent people be required to die so that you can shoot squirrels or little paper targets?

So you want to equate death and injuries to a disease. On this we can agree. Guns, like diarrhea are a disease, in America. All so the small, insecure American male can feel potent and powerful.

A disease. I think you're right.

How do you equate driving a car, a necessity in America, with a recreational "sport"? Get real, will ya?

True or false?

For most of US history, Americans had broad gun rights.

That's false. Until recently, individual gun rights were severely restricted with NRA support.

You have a disease called liberalism, known medically as Cranial Diarrhea. The promulgation of Liberalism is the cause of our current social ills.

You can take public transit.

What you call a "sport," the Founders call a "Right." The Founders were a lot smarter tha you.
