we're ten feet but 2 rooms (or three, dependnig on which route you take) apart, and there are 2 walls in between which do not transmit sound. also, i lost my voice a couple months back to a weird sinus infection. i could barely carry on a conversation, let alone yell... <shrug> works for us....
hate having yelling conversations from across the house. If I need you to come see me where I am, I might yell at you to come here. And I'm cool with the reverse. But if you don't have a need for me to come to where you are, and you have questions that require a verbal response? Get your ass up and come see me. I will do the same if I have something to discuss with you. I refuse to carry on a screaming conversation.

LW1: I would take the advice of an LPN who specializes in Alzheimers over that of a columnist. LW's friend should do what she thinks is best at this point. If her friend seems to enjoy church, continue to take her. If it confuses her or stresses her out, don't take her.

Common sense. Hmmm, you'd think this was a new invention. Too bad more people don't use it -- right?

Jeebus, people, what happened to yelling?
We do not yell in this house. If you want to talk to someone, get up and go to them. Or text. <shrug>

Emergencies excepted of course.

ITA. And "I need you to come see me where I am," means "This is about something going on this room or on this tv show or on the radio in this room, and you need to see/hear/experience it for yourself." Otherwise, I'd come to you.

HEY! Who invited the reasonable person? Did we take a vote before letting her in?

I don't think Jeanne/Abby can really give objective advice about this -- considering that Pauline/OriginalFlavorAbby HAS Alzheimers. It probably hits a little too close to home.

And this Abby (the daughter) has protected her mother's image for many years now.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Libra

Look after yourself today, dear Libra, because you don't have as much energy and self-confidence as usual. In fact, your spirits may be trailing around your ankles, making you feel wretched and listless. A pessimistic mood certainly won't help you cheer up, and you may be feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities or other people's problems. The fact is that you've got things out of proportion, but you'll feel better about them soon.
