How tragic.. There is no respect for life anymore, age is not a factor. From birth to 90 anyone can become a victim with our cruel mentality.

Time of day means nothing to these hard-core,good for nothing thugs. You can be killed at 8:am, 12 noon; 8:00 in the evening; there is no specific time or place to be killed by these low-life in human thugs. The violence must end and will end, in what fahion; your guess is as good as mine; just use your imagination and that the way it will go down.

The person responsible was the shooter but looking over the update to this story I have to add, you don't get into arguments with men standing on a street corner at night. Apparently one of the men walked over to the car and shot her.

Thank you .... if you were going to play "basketball" go straight to basketball. Don't stop and argue with men on street corners at night. Was there any mention of the boyfriend? What's his deal?

Yes, it does matter what time. Especially when you are that young age these days! The kid should've been home.

So your saying that no one gets shot sitting on there porch or in there yard? A person can't go to the store when the sun goes down? Go for a walk, even if it's with your parents? The problem wasn't that she wasn't home, it "appears" that she didn't know enough to keep her mouth shut. It's just like driving down the road and someone cuts you off and you flip them off or yell at them. It's there fault, but in alot of cases, they get pissed that "you" flipped them off and they try to run you off the road or even shoot you. I've learned to ignore them but it can be hard. If it was only happening late at night, I would agree with you, but this crap is happening at ALL times of the day.

I found an article where it says the boyfriend had the big mouth, my apologies, but the same situation stands. What's the old saying, "Loose lips sink ships". The younger generation doesn't know how to settle fights like the older generation. Instead of fists, it's with guns. It's a shame.

IDK , I live in the area and know what those streets are like at night. At least we do agree on one point, the younger generation handle things differently.

Yes. When I was a kid I use to live in Detroit back in the 60's, right by Tiger Stadium which is on the edge of downtown, and you could sit out front and everyone would hang out together and now and then a fist fight would break out but then everything would be ok. Then is started to change in the late 60's and we moved because gangs started to pop up and it got a little rougher, but still it wasn't with guns. Things have really changed. Maybe when they finally pass a law that says any crime with a gun and you get life in prison, NO PAROLE. That will get some people thinking twice.

The police seem to have little interest in getting gang bangers off the streets.
Isn't it time for vigilantes to take action?
