Im not disagreeing with anyone here as i live in WV. When in chicago to visit i dont go grocery shopping. I do have numerous issues with food (allergies, chemical sensitive ) and our aldi is amazing. I can find food free of chemicals and preservatives, the produce is fresh and the meat and dairy also. Store is always very clean and the staff is helpful. I rarely have to wait in line because all registers are open. The only reason i shop elsewhere is for certain name brands not carried. Maybe instead of calling headquarters call the Dm or Rm in the area. I have to call them 1 time the corporate headquarters to find out the ingredients in a medicine and they were extremely helpful. Although the ingredients for listed I had to find some specific information regarding the ingredients do to my allergies. The woman took my name and number and someone called me back within 20 minutes with all of my answers. Hate to see a great store get such bad comments . And I also work retail and had a really bad district manager and our regional manager came in and take care of things

I shop at Aldi's, and the food items are excellent and of the highest quality, the prices are very reasonable, the staff are friendly and very helpful. I speak with them every time I go there, and they do care about their customers. I also voted for Mitt Romney, so whomever made that comment is completely anal. Just because you're wise and know that Jewel and Dominick's overcharge the public, doesn't have any impact, whatsoever, on who you choose to vote for, what hogwash. I also did a comparative grocery shopping experiment between Aldi's and Walmart (two cheapest stores for groceries) for one of speeches for Critical Thinking (DeVry University). I received an "A" (was on the Dean's list with a 4.0 GPA), and every student in the class eagerly grabbed at the price comparison study handouts I had prepared for them. Do not be dissuaded from shopping here, do not be a sheeple. Think for yourselves and make your own decisions. Yes, they have offices in Batavia, Illinois, however they are actually a German corporation. Many of their fruit and vegetable items are non-GMO, there is a "QUALITY GUARANTEE" on ALL items they carry. The store managers are helpful, as is the corporate office, I wanted a walker for my mother. One store sold out, gave me the corporate number...They located it at another store, and shipped it to the store location closest to me at no charge. THEY CARE, ARE HELPFUL, AND COURTEOUS. Don't be a fool, make your OWN decisions. If you eat bad fruit, then why the hell didn't you check it before you ate it, you idiot...
Which Aldi store do you manage? Next time you make a review, be more realistic. I don't believe a thing you said here and nobody else with half a brain will either.

@Jody in Elmhurst...
When I did the comparison study it was at the Aldi's store on Randall Road in Carpentersville, the Walmart was on Route 47 in Huntley. I've never worked at an Aldi's in my life...:) It's all true, and the thing is I couldn't care less if you believe me or not, Jody, I don't know you don't wish to know you, and I really couldn't care less what your mealy mouthed opinion is, because if anyone has diminished mental capacity, it's you.

I've also shopped at the Aldi's in South Elgin on Randall Road, in Streamwood on Irving Park, in Chicago on North and Kostner Avenues, in Niles on Golf Road, and in Mount Prospect on Golf Road...All locations, at all times has been clean, the staff courteous and professional. I have never had any bad experiences at any location nor have I or any family member gotten sick from the food. I have no idea why most of the comments here are complaints, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I've been to many different locations, and have had the same exact experience at each and every one...Excellent products and excellent service. As God is my witness, I'm telling the truth...I have nothing to hide and I have absolutely nothing to gain, except to speak the truth of my positive experiences in shopping at Aldi's and will continue to do so. I started shopping there when I was first married at 22, I'm now 53, and still shop there...In 31 years, I've never, and I MEAN NEVER, have I experienced anything less than a good experience in shopping at Aldi's.

You're trying to hard to prove your point. Nobody would take this kind of time and trouble to come up with this kind of BS unless they worked at Aldi. I have a suggestion for you because I know why this thread was started.

Tell your corporate office in Batavia to start treating people who have legitimate complaints or concerns with more respect.

I heard they're starting to even carry some name brand stuff there.
But they'll have to carry all name brand, before I even think of going near an Aldi store again.

@William

Brand name? As in American made processed food? Have you read about GMOs??? Do you know anything about high fructose corn syrup? Soy? Corn byproducts? Preservatives? Nitrates? Nitrites? Sulfates? Look it up, start reading ingredients. Stop eating processed foods. Watch your blood pressure, body fat, glucose levels, and any and all other health problems start to diminish and go away. You people are so FU_KING brainwashed. Aldi's is a great store, what I buy there are ONE INGREDIENT ITEM FOODS!!! They're healthy, and you will be too, as well as your pocketbook (or wallet)...:) Stay stupid, I really don't care. I tried, but apparently, for the most part, you're all brainwashed by the media and commercials. Do you really believe the American diet is healthy? Do you really believe Monsanto, DuPont and the FDA are making GMO food for the benefit of mankind? God gave you a brain, WTF don't you use it???

Never worked for Aldi's...I swear, so help me God...:D

Do you even know how to read? The media has nothing to do with the complaints here. The media of course is on your side. They always back the corrupt corporations while leaving the citizens in the dark. People are speaking here from experience. And, there has been a lot of terrible experiences from a lot of different people. Notice a pattern here? At the very best Aldi is a Walmart Wannabe. It's a bargain basement store where mostly broke people shop. Most people would be too embarrassed to admit they shop here let alone go out of their way to back up a bottom feeder store like this. You probably work at the corporate office. Maybe this thread would have never started if you hadn't been so mean to customers who had concerns. You bastids are getting what you deserve now. I heard the waiting lines keep getting smaller and smaller. LOL, serves you right.

Actually, every time I go to a Dominicks or a Jewel, those stores are basically empty. Aldi's? They're always full of people. So I couldn't particularly care how you feel. The thing is it's a good store, the employees are nice and courteous. I've had one experience with the corporate offices, they were helpful. Whoever started this string, apparently had a gripe. Go ahead and be negative, you sorry assed imbeciles. Be angry, be upset...LOL! Greedy, ignorant apes, that can't think outside of the box. Be miserable, you certainly are not happy with anything, anyone, much less yourselves...:)

Most of their employees can't speak English, so that says something right there.

I read your posts. When you get fired from Aldi and have to go back to Mexico, will you still be backing them up so hard??? What did they pay you for all this? Free use of their shopping carts? LMAO

There's always one in every crowd who like kissing corporate butt.
Jewel lines are about as bad as they get. The only reason Aldi gets business is because of the Polish immigrants who justify all the Polish jokes people make. Shop at Aldi and vote for democrats across the board because they're stupid beyond belief.

I'm going to go on gut feeling and say that Allie if full of it, but you're being honest. Perhaps your Aldi is a good one because you live in a relatively small town where everybody knows everybody, so even they go out of their way to be helpful to people. Not so in Chicago. Don't know if these are franchises but the Corporate Office in Batavia is run by some real hacks, who know Chicago is loaded with Polish immigrants who just simply don't know better. I'm stating this politely. Others would say these immigrants are just plain ignorant. Case in point. They keep electing a very corrupt Congresswoman by the name of Jan Schakowsky because they think she's Polish. She's really Russian.
I also think the huge amount of Polish immigrants are the reason the ever corrupt democrat political machine runs Chicago.
All of them vote for the democrats only. Need I say how bad it gets when one party runs a big city?
