I don't buy fruit or meat... only can goods mostly. And their huge 18" pizzas for $5.99 are the best deal around. Their prices kill Walmart, I've checked. But there is another discount store that does beat Aldi... Food4Less, Kroger... it has better quality at similar steep discounted prices, that's where I buy veggies and meat. But for me Aldi is closer so I go there mostly. Like I said, just beware and check for freshness... or go with cans only, like I do. Shopping at Aldi is like playing Russian Roulette. You get what you pay for. At least Walmart carries name brand stuff. Aldi?

Until I saw not one but three cockroaches in one of those "huge" pizzas you like so much.

Aldi is every bit as bad as most people say here. Your American Media covers them up just like they do every rotten corporation. I've heard about very bad things happening to people from Aldi products. Stay away.

Most people who shop at Aldi are dumb pollacks. The same idiots who always vote for democrats including Obama. For some reason they all live in Chicago. Let them stay there, nobody else wants them.

I used to complain that there was no Aldi near Bensenville. Now I'm glad. There's a local grocery here called Edmar. Kind of a mixed bag. They make great sandwiches there. But the other stuff is high priced and their employees are generally rude. That's typical of a family owned operation.

I'm glad there's no Aldi near anywhere I live. They probably started the West Nile virus. Brought it into the USA with all their 3rd World food imports.

Glad to see people are realizing how awful Aldi is. The behavior of their corporate office is inexcusable. F them for threating to have me arrested for harrassment just for making a complaint.

The last time I shopped at Aldi about two years ago I got very sick from one of their frozen pizzas. I should have known when I paid such a low price this would happen. I had to spent a night in the hospital and couldn't stop throwing up until the next day.

If Chicago had a decent chain store, they wouldn't shop at Aldi. Jewels prices are not competitive and their cashiers are total retards. The one and the only thing I liked about Aldi were how fast they rang everything up. It was amazing.
But people are risking their lives shopping at a place that sells nothing name brand.

I got severe food poisoning from one of their beef products and nearly died. But the media wanted no part of it. I called the corporate office in Batavia and they were very hostile to put it mildly. You're better off paying more money for quality food, so folks should stay clear of Aldi's. yes

Aldi stores have prospered very much by Chicago Polish people as have corrupt politicians. We're finally waking up thanks in part to the remarks here. Thank you.

Kroger must have been before my time. Meijers has no locations close to me. That would leave Target or Walmart with their limited selections. I could usually find at Aldi what I couldn't find at Target or Walmart, but from now on I'll just pay the higher prices at Jewel until something better comes along.

LMAO @ the fools who shop at Aldi. Maybe it's because of the easy transportation. Just jump in a sewer and ride the current and it will take you right there.

Anyone that has had a basic high school economics class knows what Aldi's business plan is about. I'm sure you would still complain if all grocery stores were like Whole Foods and it tripled your monthly grocery bill. Not long ago China was importing some tainted candy, which made young children very sick here. There had been 52,000 babies in China who got very sick from the same stuff. Some of this candy even reached mainstream stores like Target. Thanks to the media nothing was mentioned. We had to read about it on the internet via the Google Search Engines. There were deaths from this. If warning people about potentially deadly products makes us whiners so be it. But until the media stops protecting corrupt corporations like Aldi, some of us will continue to "whine."

It was all over the internet and millions of people were scared for their children. But as you said not a peep from any of the Networks, not even Fox. You want unbiased news, yes, Google it in. You get to hear all sides of the story then.

China has a reputation of selling tainted food products and products raised in human bio solids(sewage) They also have been caught using toxic chemicals and lead paint on children's toys. The factories there still have slave and child labor but the American consumer has been infected by the Walmartian virus that makes your mind think that anything that's cheaper is better. With Christmas just around the corner,we can decorate our fake Chinese Christmas tree with Chinese lights and Chinese decorations complete with the lead paint and toxic chemicals. We can pile our Chinese made toys wrapped in Chinese paper and ribbon around the tree and think about the kids forced to make all this happen for us and they probably don't even know what Christmas is. Be sure to turn off the lights Christmas eve and see if anything glows in the dark, including your kids.
